확장현실(XR) 기반 초실감 대테러 교육훈련체계 구축 방안 연구 (Developing an XR based Hyper-realistic Counter-Terrorism, Education, Training, and Evaluation System)

  • 최근 확장현실(XR) 기술의 비약적인 발전으로 확장현실(XR) 기술을 활용한 교육훈련체계 개발 및 활용이 크게 늘고 있다. 특히 군사훈련 및 대테러 훈련과 같이 큰 위험성을 동반하고 많은 비용이 발생하는 분야에서는 확장현실(XR) 기술을 활용해 실제 훈련과 유사한 훈련환경을 조성함으로써 훈련성과는 높이고, 훈련에 소요되는 비용은 줄이며, 실제훈련에서 발생할 수 있는 안전사고의 위험을 최소화할 수 있는 확장현실(XR) 기반 모의훈련체계가 대안으로 떠오르고 있다. 본 논문에서는 육군사관학교 주관의 콘소시움에서 기(旣)개발한 5G 기반 증강현실(AR) 통합 지휘통제플랫폼을 기반으로 대한민국 경찰의 테러상황 대응 능력을 향상시키기 위한 확장현실(XR) 기반 초실감 대테러 교육훈련체계 구축방안 및 효과 검증방안을 제안한다. 제안하는 체계는 초실감 콘텐츠 및 훈련 시나리오를 바탕으로 대테러 능력향상을 위한 개인 및 팀 단위 가상훈련이 가능하고, 나아가 모의훈련장 및 실제 작전현장과 연계하여 현장 지휘통제소로도 즉시 활용이 가능하다.

  • 본 논문에서는 전력계통 고장해석 교육 및 훈련을 위한 대화식 컴퓨터 소프트웨어를 개발하였다. 개발된 소프트웨어는 고장해석에 대한 손쉬운 이해 및 소프트웨어의 사용자 편의를 증가시키기 위하여 윈도우, 그래픽 아이콘, 다양한 그래픽 출력 기능 등을 포함하고 있다. 특히, 대화식 기능을 부가함으로서 사용자가 다양한 사고 조건에서 고장해석을 모의할 수 있도록 하였다. 이러한 기능을 통하여 사용자는 전력계통 고장해석의 기본 개념 및 사고로 인한 계통의 영향에 대한 이해를 손쉽게 습득할 수 있다. 제안된 소프트웨어는 16모선 전력계통을 통하여 사례연구를 수행함으로 전력계통 고장해석의 교육 및 훈련에 유용한 기능들을 갖추고 있음을 확인하였다.

가상 현실 기반 철강 공정 조업 교육 시스템 (Virtual-reality-based Operation Training System for Steel Making Process)

  • This paper will introduce the development case study about virtual-reality-based operation training system for steel making process. Steel making process consist iron making process to create liquid steel, pig iron, by reduction process, steel making process to make molten steel by refining, continuous casting process to make slab, and rolling process to make final product like coil, plate. This steel making process deals with liquid and solid products, so facilities of steel making process are very various and complicated. In addition, according to various customer requirements, the recycle of facilities and recipes changing have been fast. So the training for skilled operators is very important point. In this paper, we develop steel making training system based virtual reality for training skilled operator. This system consists of virtual machine, virtual HMI, and virtual control panel. And for fitting the characteristics of each process and increasing the education effectiveness, we develop dynamic methods like the method of dynamic education system configuration, initial facilities setup operation education system, and etc.

한국과 주요 외국의 안전보건교육제도에 관한 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on the Safety and Health Education System between Korea and other Countries)

  • After the Se-wol ferry disaster in Korea, the safety issue was highly spotlighted in a number of media, and consequently the ministry of public safety and security was newly established under the public attention. In addition to this, a recent earthquake in Gyeonju suggested the training issues for public such as evacuation and public safety. Regarding the industry, one of significant reasons causing the accidents were inadequate training, in execution of safety manual or inexperienced first response. Although the engineering or scientific study provided a basis of the industry safety and health in Korea a study focusing on the safety and health education system should be highlighted in that the law is the only way to execute the policy. In this manner, the goal of current study was to compare the safety and health education system in Korea to other countries including America, England and Germany. Especially, the law for training method, contents, supervision and punishment was analyzed. Result showed (1) lack of a structured training course for educating safety and health education trainer, (2) no training system of safety and health education to public or workers, and (3) less specific law for supervision and punishment as compared to the America, England and Germany.

4 산업혁명 기술 기반 교육훈련 정보화 및 지능화 전략 (A Study on the Informatization and Intelligent Strategy of Education and Training based on 4th Industrial Revolution Technology)

  • The advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution is also causing many changes in defense operations. Defense reform and the fourth industrial revolution promoted smart defense innovation, and attempts are being made to incorporate cutting-edge science and technology into various fields such as weapons systems and defense operations. Education and training is one of the areas in which information and intelligence are urgently needed in the spirit of defense operations. Due to the nature of defense education and training, which aims to fight against the enemy, there is no emphasis on psychological training in the field rather than informatization, but in developed countries with various experiences of modern warfare, investment and vitalization of education and training are vital. Through this, efforts are being made to foster soldiers with problem-solving skills in uncertain battlefields. The informatization and intelligence of defense education and training is no longer a matter that can be delayed, and the innovation of education and training using cutting-edge science and technology can be said to be an age-old task to improve the results of education and training in the fourth industrial revolution. The purpose of this is because the application of related technologies is not the goal itself as the 4th Industrial Revolution arrives, but it has been made possible through the rapid advancement of science and technology that has made it difficult to realize education and training, even though it has long been desired. Ultimately, education and training data will be integrated and artificial intelligence-based intelligent learning systems will maximize the performance of education and training, thereby improving the combat readiness.

해상화학사고 대응을 위한 국내 교육훈련체계 개선에 관한 연구 - 국내 체계와 외국 체계의 비교를 기반으로 - (A Study on the Improvement of the Education and Training System for Response to Marine Chemical Incidents in Korea - Based on the Comparison of Systems between Korea and Foreign Countries -)

  • 해상 HNS 유출사고 대응 교육훈련체계의 국내 및 외국(미국, 캐나다, 호주, 영국) 현황을 살펴보고, 국내 체계와 외국 체계 간의 비교를 통하여 국내의 교육훈련체계 개선방안에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 그 결과, 국내의 민간 교육훈련기관이 거의 전무한 상태에서 외국의 기관들에 비하여 활성화되지 못하였고, 국내의 해상 HNS 관련 교육훈련이 정부 주도 하에 획일적으로 이루어지고 있는 실정이었다. 또한 국내의 교육훈련기관인 해양경찰교육원과 해양환경교육원 간에는 교육대상자, 교육기간 등에서 차이가 있었다. 국내의 해상 HNS 관련 교육과정이 외국의 교육과정에 비하여 단순한 편이었고, 교육기간도 상대적으로 짧았으며, 국제해사기구 HNS 모델코스의 2가지 과정(운영 수준 및 관리자 수준)을 수용하지 않고 있었다. 국내 해상화학사고 대응 교육훈련체계를 개선하기 위한 방안을 단기적 측면과 중 장기적 측면으로 나누어 제시하였다. 단기적 측면에서, 해양경찰교육원과 해양환경교육원은 각자 독립적으로 운영하는 현행의 이원적 체계를 유지하면서 두 기관이 공동으로 참여하는 HNS교육훈련운영협의체(가칭)를 설립하는 방안을 제시하였고, 중 장기적 측면에서는, 해양경찰교육원 HNS 담당부서와 해양환경교육원 HNS 담당부서를 통합하여 국제경쟁력을 갖춘 일원적 체계인 국가해상HNS방제교육훈련기관(가칭)으로 변경 확대하는 방안을 제시하였다.

  • This paper compares the maritime education of two traditionally maritime countries, Korea and the Philippines, specifically, in their maritime transportation education. The subjects of this review focus on Mokpo National Maritime University (MMU) and the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA). The paper presents the curricular and training programs of both institutions and shows the differences in the curriculum designs and methodology of delivery as contained in the requirements of Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping 1978, as amended in 1995 (STCW 95). It also illustrates the social climate of the two countries and the attitude of maritime community in relation with the maritime programs offered by the institutions towards the quality of the fresh maritime graduates.

Collaboration to Enhance Development and Application of Shiphandling Simulators

  • It has been well proved that shiphandling simulators are efficient and useful facilities for training and education of cadets and seafarers. Most of the maritime universities and many maritime training institutes all over the world have installed shiphandling simulators, which play important roles in maritime education and training. However, most of the Shiphandling simulators are standalone facilities with diversities on system architectures, layouts and functions. STCW78/95 requires simulators used for simulator-based training shall be suitable for the selected objectives and training tasks. To ensure the shiphandling simulator facilities meet the requirements of STCW convention and other expanded applications, collaborated research and coordination are needed in development and application of shiphandling simulators. Performance standard should be established for shiphandling simulator systems considering the advanced research needs as well as the needs in education, training, and assessment of competence. Standardizing and exchanging shiphandling mathematical models will improve critical performance of the system. Cooperated research on model course and training assessment approaches will enhance the training standard. In addition, the rapid spread of the internet technology has shown a promising future of application of shiphandling simulators through internet. Research has been carried out on internet based integration of multiple shiphandling simulators. A multi-agent based system, including necessary hardware, has been developed. Collaborated operation of the system can be of benefit in filling the gaps of the technical and operational level and methodology between maritime universities, enhancing mutual understanding of the navigation customs and culture background among cadets and seafarers from different countries, facilitating communication and maritime English training, and extending the functions of shiphandling simulators.

Shipboard Training for the Efficient Maritime Education

  • Marine officers should have crisis control ability because ship operation needs not only highly specialized information, but also functional capability due to the fact that there always exist dangers at sea, which are different from those at shore. Therefore, marine officers should be trained on the related specialized information under the systematical educational system including shipboard training. Their training is also based on the strong spiritual power and physical strength through the strict training process. In order to have these vocational personalities, dormitory life training and shipboard training courses seem to be essential processes, which are required of maritime education. The introduction of automatic system into the ship as a result of the recent development of technology brings decrease of the full number of crew. Consequently, marine officers are increasingly under heavy burden, and should have more ship operation capabilities than before. Maine officers should have not only specialized information which differs from that at shore, but also vocational adaptability which can reasonably tackle with all the problems which exist on the spot and are obstacles to individual, spiritual, physical, natural, and social demands. So it is required that marine officers should have study many areas to deal with as extra curricula besides their major field of study, which are unique characteristics of the education for them. These vocational adaptabilities are based on the spiritual characteristics, such as self-developmental education, responsibility, meticulous care, attentiveness, voluntary, planning, readiness, spontaneity, accuracy, self-denial, obedience, leadership, and etc.

가상현실(VR)을 이용한 선박주기관 교육·훈련 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Training Systems for Marine Engines Using Virtual Reality)

  • 증가하는 기관 손상으로 발생하는 해양사고를 예방하기 위해 기관 정비에 대한 교육 및 훈련의 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 하지만 장비의 크기 및 장소의 제약 등으로 실제 장비를 통한 실습교육은 현실적으로 어렵다. 이러한 해결책으로 가상현실(VR)을 이용한 선박주기관 교육훈련 시스템 개발의 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 본 논문의 목적은 기존의 VR 프로그램과 장비를 이용하여 선박주기관 교육과 훈련에 최적화된 시스템을 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해 수업용으로 적합한 선박주기관과 교육대상을 선정하여 모델링하고 VR 개발 소프트웨어를 사용하여 시스템을 개발하였다. 개발된 VR 교육·훈련 시스템은 교육과정에서 훈련이나 실습하기 어려운 내용들을 가상현실을 통해 실제와 유사하게 체험할 수 있도록 구성하였다. 본 연구에서는 개발된 VR 교육 장비를 활용하여 한국해양대학교 4학년 학생들을 대상으로 주기관 교육을 실시하였으며, 적은 표본 수이긴 하지만 교육 효과가 있음을 확인하였다. 향 후 기관분야에서 VR를 활용한 교육·훈련 시스템이 도입된다면 선박주기관에 대한 유지·보수 능력이 향상되고 해양사고 저감에도 기여할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
