Assessment of Isokinetic Muscle Function in Elite Canadian College Paddlers (대학 엘리트 카나디언 선수들의 어깨·허리·무릎 관절의 등속성 근기능 평가 및 진단)

  • The aim of this study is to evaluate university canadian paddlers' iso-kinetic muscle function and provide training advices. Eight university paddlers with a 8.5 years career participated in this study. Inbody 720, biodex system III, biodex stabilizer system and THP 2 are used to investigate body component, muscle function(peak torque, average power and work fatigue), agility and dynamic balance. Iso-kinetic muscle function around shoulder, thorax and knee are measured. And then bilateral and unilateral muscle imbalance are calculated at each joint. Results of this study are as follows; University canadian paddlers' BMI average is 24.90 $kg/m^2$ and percent body fat is 12.23%. Reaction time average was 324 msec and balance score at each leg are below 2.0. A3, A4, A5, A6, A8 are needed to train shoulder muscle strength and power. A1, A2, A7, A8 are needed to strengthen shoulder muscle endurance. A2, A5, A8 are needed to train thorax muscle strength and power. A1, A8 are needed to strengthen thorax muscle endurance. Most of paddlers' reciprocal muscle balance ratio on thorax and knee are out of normal range. A2, A3, A4, A8 are needed to train abdominal strength and A3, A5, A6, A7, A8 are needed to train hamstring strength.

A Digital Twin Simulation Model for Reducing Congestion of Urban Railways in Busan (부산광역시 도시철도 혼잡도 완화를 위한 디지털 트윈 시뮬레이션 모델 개발)

  • As a representative concept of the fourth industrial revolution era where everything is digitized, digital twin means analyzing and optimizing a complex system using a simulation model synchronized with the system. In this paper, we propose a digital twin simulation model for the efficient operation of urban railways in Busan. Due to the geopolitical nature of Busan, where there are many mountains and narrow roads, the railways are more useful than other public transportation. However, this inversely results in a high level of congestion, which is an inconvenience to citizens and may be fatal to the spread of the virus, such as COVID19. Considering these characteristics, the proposed model analyzes the congestion level of the railways in Busan. The model is developed based on a mathematical formalism called discrete-event system specification and deduces the congestion level and the average waiting time of passengers depending on the train schedule. In addition, a new schedule to reduce the congestion level is derived through particle swarm optimization, which helps the efficient operation of the railways. Although the model is developed for the railways in Busan, it can also be used for railways in other cities where a high level of congestion is a problem.

  • We may consider the inducement of demand to public transportation as a solution to relieve traffic congestion and pollution. Subway has merits as moving on schedule, transporting more people than bus. But subway is required a vast investment in the early stage of construction has a huge debt. So it runs into red figures, and on this account, services of subway are falling more and more. Development of subway's operation cost function is useful to understand structure of subway's operation and catch the relations of operation cost and actual results. In addition, we can present the policy that is a helpful to the operation as development of operation cost function. But there are short of studies about operation cost deal with a subway comparison with local train. Because local train has many lines and data, on the other hand, subway has one to four lines and less data. Most of previous studies sought the operation cost function of Seoul. So this study aimed to develop and apply the operation cost function of Seoul, Incheon, Busan and Daegu area using full allocation method. In this study, we considered the number of passengers, track-km, train-km, revenue as actual results. By appling the operation cost function, we compared the average cost of each city and confirmed the existence of economies of scale about the number of passengers, train-km.

  • Block Train Services(BTS) are actively studied in many countries for higher productivity and eco-friendly systems of inland freight distribution. However it is difficult for an ordinary student or researcher to approach for understanding and studying BTS because rail transport is operated monopolistically by Korea government and most freight information in each company belongs to its business secret due to the industrial characteristics. For such reasons, the study aimed to develop a BTS simulation model that it supports understanding and strategic decision required for BT operation. To build the result, expert depth-interviews were conducted with analysis of relative references through the domestic representative BT operating company K. The simulator refers to the Busan NewPort-Uiwang section and functionally, it supports scenario generation and analysis on BT operation. It makes a contribution to study a new type's technological application for learning and strategic analysis of BTS.

Study on Analysis of Operating Characteristics of Motor Block While KTX is Moving at Neutral Section of Kyung-Bu High Speed Line (경부고속선 절연구간에서 KTX 운행중 모터블럭의 동작특성 분석)

  • Traction power is supplied by three-phase alternating current of 154 kV power grid and electric trains are operated on single phase feeding system. It becomes important to use all the three phases equally and convert them into two-phase electric power (90 degree phase rotation) for traction supply. This is achieved by special transformer from the adjacent traction substation which is separated by a neutral section. Neutral section locations are in front of the substation and between the two substations. The first stage of the Seoul-Busan high-speed railway, design curve radius is larger than 7,000 m and the greatest slope is 25‰. The railway track conditions are evaluated as good enough to install a neutral section at the first stage, but a few factors of coasting operation of the train should be considered at the second stage of Seoul-Busan high-speed railway. The neutral section was located at Kim-cheon substation, which made some neutral section problems produced by the operating train, and the neutral section was moved about 1.5 km to the south toward Dong Dae-gu station due to the track operation condition. Some of the trains which stopped at the existing Kim-cheon Gu-mi station produced another motor block failure after moving the neutral section. In this paper, power quality, system performance and track condition, etc. are suggested to solve the problems.

  • This study uses a epidemic film that is being re-illuminated due to the recent appearance of COVID-19. In particular, The flu, Train to Busan, and Deranged are representative works of the "Epidemic Genre" in domestic disaster films, and their performance reports are different. Researcher set the pandemic film as one aspect of the genre film, and analyzed and compared three films in terms of three elements of the genre film: formula, convention, and iconography. An important element in the epidemic film was the improvement of reality through 'suspension of suspense' and 'ambiguity in the epidemic setting'. Lastly, Researcher hope the Korean film industry will develop more deeply through the "Epidemic Genre," a new genre of Korean films that has been spotlighted by the COVID-19 incident.

  • The maintenance of the turnout is composed of signal field and track field on business, the electrical and mechanical field on system. adjustment and maintenance carry forward through coordination with these fields. In the case of turnout equipment used in a first phase of Seoul-Busan high-speed train, it is treated by classifying as mechanical adjustments and electrical adjustments. Mechanical adjustment is conducted with focus on fine adjustment to meet maintenance standards limits(1mm or less) about interval of basic rail and tongue rail about each part of track transition equipment. This refers to mechanical adjustments performed mainly with physical changes and movement characteristics between basic rail and tongue rail by considering the overall environment surrounding track side of section installed track transition equipment. However, these series of maintenance are conducted in state that high-speed train is not in the process from 1 am to 4 am at night, but common workers for maintenance are not familiar with the operation and checking about various situation, and the workers are even insufficient. Maintenance training using mixed reality is conducted in the place of business, we tried to overcome several problems of safety and time reduction through this training.

Comparison of Illustrations of Elementary Science Textbooks in Korea and Tanzania (한국과 탄자니아 초등학교 과학과 교과서의 삽화 비교 연구)

  • The purpose of this research is to examine the current state of inserting illustrations in science textbooks under the 7th Revised Educational Curriculum which is currently enforced in all grades of elementary schools, and to compare and analyze the external and internal differences in illustrations in science textbooks of elementary schools in Tanzania and Korea to present desirable direction of producing illustrations. There are not only some differences in rate of the kinds and role of the illustrations in grades, but also in both countries. In Korea textbooks, Photographs were mainly used to guide the students into experiments and to train the students in analyzing and interpreting data. In contrast, the Tanzania textbooks place more emphasis on pictures to enhance their interests and curiosity and understand. The Korea textbooks have to place more various illustrations instead of photos but the Tanzania textbooks should place more photos. As a result the addition of more diverse forms of illustrations and the re-organization of illustrations according to the topic should be considersd in future Korea and Tanzania textbooks.

Estimation of Creep Cavities Using Neural Network and Progressive Damage Modeling (신경회로망과 점진적 손상 모델링을 이용한 크리프 기공의 평가)

  • In order to develop nondestructive techniques for the quantitative estimation of creep damage a series of crept copper samples were prepared and their ultrasonic velocities were measured. Velocities measured in three directions with respect to the loading axis decreased nonlinearly and their anisotropy increased as a function of creep-induced porosity. A progressive damage model was described to explain the void-velocity relationship, including the anisotropy. The comparison of modeling study showed that the creep voids evolved from sphere toward flat oblate spheroid with its minor axis aligned along the stress direction. This model allowed us to determine the average aspect ratio of voids for a given porosity content. A novel technique, the back propagation neural network (BPNN), was applied for estimating the porosity content due to the creep damage. The measured velocities were used to train the BP classifier, and its accuracy was tested on another set of creep samples containing 0 to 0.7 % void content. When the void aspect ratio was used as input parameter together with the velocity data, the NN algorithm provided much better estimation of void content.

  • Ventilation equipment performs a central role to maintain comfort subway environment. So ventilation equipment of Busan subway line No.1 is required to improve thermal environment. In this study, conditions of thermal environment are presented to improve ventilation equipment at existing subway station platforms by measuring thermal environment of platforms operated ventilation equipment at 14 stations of Busan subway line No.1. AWS of data in comparison with the neighbouring platforms and thermal environment analysis. Thermal environment status of subway platform analysis results are as follows. 1)Daytime platform temperature was higher than outdoor temperature, but night time platform temperature was lower than outdoor temperature. 2)Train wind had effect on improving thermal comfort in platform. 3)When outdoor temperature is below $24^{\circ}C$, inlet air is able to lower than platform temperature. 4)Considering existing ventilation system, night purge systems is useful to improving platform thermal environment.
