열차 충돌/탈선사고의 위험사건 정의 및 원인 분류 (Hazardous Events and Causes for Train Collision and Derailment)

  • Train collision and derailment are types of accident that happen with low probability of occurrence but could lead to disastrous consequences including multiple life losses. Risk assessment of the accidents are typically performed per their hazardous events, which are defined as events that cause accidents. This study classifies the train collision and derailment based on the relevant hazardous event, and investigates the causes related to the hazardous events. Finally, the relation of the causes, hazardous events, and the accidents are defined.

국내 철도 탈선사고에 대한 조사분석 연구 (A study on the analysis of derailment accidents in Korea)

  • According to ' Monthly report of train accidents and incidents ' of KNR 184 numbers of derailment accidents/incidents had happened during last five years(from 1999 to 2003). Among them, there have happened only four injured accidents such as West Daejeon derailment accident, Jungang line, Pyegje station, and Daejeon station one. But it is necessary to consider a countermeasure for derailment, as its accident/incident have big risk which might produce a large scale damage and lots of injured persons. This paper analyzes the derailment accidents/incidents which have happened for last five years in KNR, and suggests their countermeasures.

  • Train collision and derailment are types of accident with low probability of occurrence, but they could lead to disastrous consequences including loss of lives and properties. The development of the risk assessment model has been called upon to predict and assess the risk for a long time. Nevertheless, the risk assessment model is recently introduced to the railway system in Korea. The classification of the hazardous events and causes is the commencement of the risk assessment model. In previous researches related to the classification, the hazardous events and causes were classified by centering the results. That classification was simple, but might not show the root cause of the hazardous events. This study has classified the train collision and derailment based on the relevant hazardous event including faults of the train related the accidents, and investigates the causes related to the hazardous events. For the risk assessment model, FTA (fault tree analysis) and ETA (event tree analysis) methods are introduced to assess the risk.

  • 최근 5년간 기차 탈선 사고가 증가하고 있다. 이러한 철도 탈선 탈선 사고 원인은, 주로 열차 선로를 바꿔주는 선로전환기 불량, 오래된 부품 사용, 정비 불량 문제 등으로 판명되었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서, 지능형 센서 기반 철도 위험 자동 예측 알고리즘 및 가설을 수립하고 컴퓨터 모의실험을 수행하였다. 특히, RFID 기술 및 사물인터넷 센서 기술 기반 연구를 WEB 기반에서 수행 하였다. 뿐만 아니라, 본 논문에서는 원산지 위조 방지사고를 예방 하기 위해서, 오픈소스를 이용해서, 블록체인 기반 철도 부품 위조 방지 컴퓨터 모의실험을 수행하였다.

  • Train accidents can be directly connected to fatal accidents-collision, derailment, Fire, railway crossing accidents-resulting in tremendous human casualties. First of all, the railway derailment is not only related to most of railway accidents but also it can lead to much more catastrophic accompanying train overtured than other factors. Therefore, it is most important factor to ensure railway safety. some foreign countries have applied to the detector machines(e.g., ultrasonic detector car, sleep mode, current detector, optical sensing, optical fiber). Since it was developed in order to prevent train from being derailed. In korea, the existing track method has been used to monitor rail condition using track circuit. However, we found out it impossible for Communication Based Train Control system(CBTC), recent technology to detect rail condition using balise(data transmission devices) without no track circuit. For this reason, it is needed instantly to develop real-time monitoring system used to detect broken rails. Firstly, this paper presents domestic and international statues analysis of rail breaks technology. Secondly, the composition and the characteristics of the real-time monitoring system. Finally, the evidence that this system could assumed the location and type of broken rails was proved by the experiment of prototype and operation line tests. We concluded that this system can detect rail break section in which error span exist within${\pm}1m$.

  • Railway systems are one of the best mass transit systems and many people have prevented incidents/accidents and reduced fatalities remarkably. Especially we have tried analyzing and finding the measures to prevent catastrophic accidents like train collision, derailment and fire because of their severities. It is important to assess the safety performances of railway systems like crash-worthiness analysis, body, derailment affecting factor analysis and so on for reducing and finding out the reasonable causes of disastrous accidents. In this paper the refined top-level system requirements to build-up national infra for assessing railway safety performance and the procedures and methodology for reviewing, verifying and validating infra requirements are explained. Basically the authors have used system engineering processes to analyze and verify the requirements and installation procedures and have tried maximizing the practicality of the various safety assessment systems.

열차 충돌하중에 대한 콘크리트 일탈방호시설물(DCP)의 해석적 거동 검토 (Analytical Behavior of Concrete Derailment Containment Provision(DCP) according to Train Impact Loading)

  • 전 세계적으로 철도의 노후화 및 고속화 등으로 인한 열차탈선사고가 증가하고 있으며, 그로인한 인적 물적 피해가 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 특히 철도교량의 경우에는 가드레일 또는 방호벽 등을 설치하고 있으나, 이는 탈선열차차량(train body level)이 방호벽과 충돌함으로써 열차의 탈선운동을 억제하여 정지시키는데 목적이 있다. 이와 같은 차량에 의한 탈선방호는 인명피해 위험성 및 2차 피해발생 가능성이 높다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 주행레일 사이에 일탈방호시설물(DCP, Derailment Containment Provision)을 설치하여, 차륜 또는 차축(wheel/bogie level)에서 탈선열차를 방호할 수 있는 시설물을 개발하였다. 또한, 기존 철도교량의 일탈방호성능을 확보할 수 있도록 DCP의 급속시공이 가능하도록 설계하였으며, 방호벽에 작용하는 충돌하중과 급곡선부에서의 관성력을 감소시킴으로써 일탈된 열차가 교량 밖으로의 전도 낙하방지 및 반대편 선로의 침입하는 것을 최소화 하고자 하였다. 본 논문에서는 LS-Dyna을 이용하여, 설계한 DCP의 열차 충돌위치 및 콘크리트 궤도 접합조건에 따른 거동에 대하여 해석적으로 변수연구를 수행하였다. 특히 접합조건은 접합재료의 물성치에 따라 끊어짐을 모사하는 Tiebreak contact과 완전 부착되었다고 가정하는 Perfect bond contact으로 나눠 해석적으로 검토하였다. DCP의 변위, 앵커 및 콘크리트의 응력, 변형률을 확인한 결과 Tiebreak contact이 실제 충돌하중에 대한 거동을 보다 유사하게 모사하는 것으로 판단하였다. 또한, 충돌위치에 따른 변위는 접합구간에서 가장 큰 변형이 발생하였으며, DCP 블록의 중앙에 충돌이 가해질 경우, 충돌하중이 가해지는 DCP 배면에서 휨 파괴가 발생하였다. 본 연구에서 수행한 충돌해석은 실제 충돌실험의 어려움에 의해 사전적으로 해석을 수행하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 DCP 앵커 설계변경은 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

위험도평가 적용을 통한 궤도시설 안전성 향상에 관한 연구 (A Study for the Safety Improvement of Track using the Risk Assessment)

  • The railway system consists of rolling stocks, facilities, electrical system, signaling and operation and so on, organically bound. Recently due to lots of train failures and accidents, especially the derailment related to track irregularity this year, all the people using the train are worried about railway safety and we paved the way for letting them knowing that all components of railway system are so important. As a result, most of developed countries operating railway have used to risk assessment methods about safety management to prevent railroad accidents in advance. The purpose of this paper is to find out how to closely apply to track field for risk assessment methods. Because there is no case to apply to and we're not interested in yet, despite of importance of track, in situations of higher train speed. Therefore, in this study we're going to investigate risk assessment methods and compare enire railway system with track system, eventually we want us try to present to safety management conditions necessary and secure safety improvement in track field.

  • To establish the national railway safety system, the railway total safety technology development project has been promoted by Ministry of Construction and Transportation (MOCT) since August 2004. The project has producted successful results in many areas of railway safety, however, it is required that the research field should be re-examined to meet the aim of the project. To do that, the precedence of the investment of research resources should be reviewed and determined. The risk of serious railway accidents such as train collision, derailment and level crossing accidents are estimated. From the estimation result and the statistics on the railway accidents over fast few years, the risk factors of railway accidents can be calculated.

터널 화재발생시 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 통한 승객대피계획 (A study on the rescue design of passengers for railway tunnel fire accidents by using simulation program)

  • Fire accident in tunnel is one of the most critical railway accidents, together with overturning of train by derailment and train crash. Tunnel structures contribute to minimize the cost and time of transport, but in case of railway fire accident occurring bring serious damages of human life caused by narrowness of shelter, poisonous smoke and high temperature raised at the inside of tunnel. For that reason, at the beginning of plan of tunnel, the optimum design for rescue of passengers is needed. For the detail and most suitable design for rescue of passengers, many tunnel designer substituted simulation program for mock examination by its high cost and effort. In this study, simulation program techniques, such as Fluent and Simulex, are applied for verifying the rescue design of passengers reduced the risk when fire accident occurred at tunnel utilizing of case study for planned railway tunnels shows 1,245m length in Iksan-Sili area.
