In this paper, we analyze and develop standard protocols for WAVE Networking Services described by IEEE 1609.3 which is one of standards for Intelligent Transportation Systems. In particular, we develop 'WAVE Management Entity(WME)' and 'WAVE Short Message Protocol(WSMP)'. For verification of development, we also develop Traffic Management System and RSU Manager, then we present results of verification by Traffic Management System in the car accident scenario.

In this study, MEC (: Multi-access Edge Computing) proposes a cloud service network configuration for various tests of autonomous vehicles to which V2X (: Vehicle to Everything) is applied in Wave, LTE, and 5G networks and MEC App (: Application) applied V2X service function test verification of two domains (operator (KT, SKT, LG U+), network type (Wave, LTE (including 3G), 5G)) in a specific region. In 4G networks of domestic operators (SKT, KT, LG U+ and Wave), MEC summarized the improvement effects through V2X function blocks and traffic offloading for the purpose of bringing independent network functions. And with a high level of QoS value in the V2X VNF of the 5G network, the traffic steering function scenario was demonstrated on the destination-specific traffic path.

This paper proposes an intelligent system performing an application with assistance of an Internet of Things (IoT) platform to control a traffic lights system. In our proposed systems, the traffic lights can be remotely controlled through the Internet. Based on IoT platform, the traffic conditions at different intersections of roads are collected and the traffic lights are controlled in a central manner. For the software part, the algorithm is designed based on the green wave theory to maximize the green bandwidth of arterial roads while addressing a challenging issue: the rapid changes of parameters including cycle time, splits, offset, non-fixed vehicles' velocities and traffic flow along arterial roads. The issue typically happens at some areas where the transportation system is not well organized like in Vietnam. For the hardware part, PLC S7-1200 are placed at the intersections for two purposes: to control traffic lights and to collect the parameters and transmit to a host machine at the operation center. For the communication part, the TCP/IP protocol can be done using a Profinet port embedded in the PLC. Some graphical user interface captures are also presented to illustrate the operation of our proposed system.
Conventional X-band marine radar has been used as one of the effective tools for collecting and retrieving ocean surface information parameters for three decades. Several wave information extracting algorithms have been designed in such a way that they can be utilized for efficiently estimating sea surface wave parameters such as current velocities, wave direction, significant wave heights in VTS (Vessel Traffic Service). However, their performances are still restricted. For the purpose of overcoming the performance limits, in this paper, first the conventional algorithms are analyzed and their performances are compared, and then a new control algorithm is proposed. Furthermore, we try to improve the estimation performances of typical wave parameters including wave directions and significant wave heights by introducing linear regression model in the process of computing wave information extraction. Through several simulations with the X-band radar images, it is shown that the proposed method is very effective in estimating the wave information compared to the real measured buoy data.

In this study, the influences of environmentally friendly visual and auditory information on traffic noise perception were surveyed by the using electroencephalogram Green rural region image and CBD image in urban city were used as visual informations. And traffic noise, signal and environmental music were used to detect the impact on electroencephalogram variance. It was revealed that green rural region image caused a-wave ratio increase about 10% and environmental music increased $\alpha$-wave ratio approximately $40{\sim}50%$. The results of this study improved that environmentally friendly visual and auditory information had an effect on decreasing traffic noise loudness to some extents.
A magnetically levitated vehicle (Maglev) system is under commercialization as a new transportation system in Korea. The Maglev is operated by an unmanned automatic control system. Therefore, the plan of train operation should be carefully established and validated in advance. In general, when making a train operation plan, statistically predicted traffic data is used. However, a traffic wave often occurs in real train service, and demand-driven simulation technology is required to review a train operation plan and service quality considering traffic waves. We propose a method and model to simulate Maglev operation considering continuous demand changes. For this purpose, we employed a discrete event model that is suitable for modeling the behavior of railway passenger transportation. We modeled the system hierarchically using discrete event system specification (DEVS) formalism. In addition, through implementation and an experiment using the DEVSim++ simulation environment, we tested the feasibility of the proposed model. Our experimental results also verified that our demand-driven simulation technology can be used for a priori review of train operation plans and strategies.

High-resolution S-wave reflection surveying has been successfully conducted on paved areas using a Land Streamer originally designed by the author. The main feature of the Land Streamer tool is the non-stretch woven belt on which geophone units are mounted to form a multichannel geophone array similar to a marine streamer. Because it is easily towed by a vehicle or by hand, the tool leads to high performance in field measurements and resultant cost-effectiveness of high-resolution reflection surveys. Although each geophone unit is coupled to the pavement through a metallic baseplate instead of being firmly planted in the ground, the Land Streamer tool provides comparatively clean data, unaffected by traffic noise even on the pavement. Thus, the tool is capable of expanding the opportunity for S-wave reflection surveys in urban areas where many surfaces are paved and traffic noise is severe. A series of high-resolution S-wave reflection surveys on paved areas delineated detailed structures of surface layers shallower than 60 m, and proved the wide applicability of the tool to engineering, environmental applications, and earthquake disaster prevention projects.

Shock wave model describes the propagation speed of kinematic waves in traffic flow. It was first presented by Lighthill and Whitham and has been deployed to solve many traffic problems. A recent paper pointed out that there are some traffic situations in which shock waves are not observable in the field, whereas the model predicts the existence of waves. The paper attempted to identify how such a counterintuitive conclusion results from the L-W model, and resolved the problem by deriving a new asymptotical shock wave model. Although the asymptotical model successfully eliminated the paradox of the L-W model, the validation of the new model is confined within the realm of the deceleration flow situation since the model was derived under such constraint. The purpose of this paper is to derive the remaining counter asymptotical shock wave model for acceleration traffic flow. For this, the vehicle trajectories in a time-space diagram modified to accommodate the continuously increased speed at every instant in such a way that the relationship between the spacing from the preceding vehicle and the speed of the following vehicle strictly follows Greenshield's model. To verify the validity of the suggested model, it was initially implemented to a constant flow where no shock wave exists, and the results showed that there exists no imaginary shock wave in a homogeneous flow. Numerical applications of the new model showed that the shock wave speeds of the asymptotical model for the acceleration flow tend to lean far toward the forward direction consistently. This means that the asymptotical models performs in a systematically different way for acceleration and for declaration flows. Since the output difference among the models is so distinct and systematic, further study on identifying which model is more applicable to an empirical site is recommended.
The MAGLEV (Magnetically Levitated Vehicle) system, which is under commercialization as a new transportation system in Korea, is operated by means of unmanned automatic control system. Therefore the plan of train operation should be carefully established and validated in advance. In general, when making the train operation plan, the statistically predicted traffic data is used. However, traffic wave can occur when real train service is operated, and the demand-driven simulation technology is required to review train operation plans and service qualities considering traffic wave. This paper presents a method and model to simulate the MAGLEV's operation considering continuous demand changes. For this purpose, we employed the discrete event model which is suitable for modeling the behavior of railway passenger transportation, and modeled the system hierarchically using DEVS (Discrete Event System Specification) formalism. In addition, through the implementation and experiment using DEVSim++ simulation environment, we tested the feasibility of the proposed model and it is also verified that our demand-driven simulation technology could be used for the prior review of the train operation plans and strategies.
