  • Voice service is very demanding in cognitive radio networks (CRNs). The available spectrum in a CRN for CR users varies owing to the presence of licensed users. On the other hand, voice packets are delay sensitive and can tolerate a limited amount of delay. This makes the support of voice traffic in a CRN a complicated task that can be achieved by devising necessary considerations regarding the various network functionalities. In this paper, the support of secondary voice users in a CRN is investigated. First, a novel packet scheduling scheme that can provide the required quality of service (QoS) to voice users is proposed. The proposed scheme utilizes the maximum packet transmission rate for secondary voice users by assigning each secondary user the channel with the best level of quality. Furthermore, an analytical framework developed for a performance analysis of the system, is described in which the effect of erroneous spectrum sensing on the performance of secondary voice users is also taken into account. The QoS parameters of secondary voice users, which were obtained analytically, are also detailed. The analytical results were verified through the simulation, and will provide helpful insight in supporting voice services in a CRN.

  • Energy balanced consumption routing is based on assumption that the nodes consume energy both in transmitting and receiving. Lopsided energy consumption is an intrinsic problem in low-cost sensor networks characterized by multihop routing and in many traffic overhead pattern networks, and this irregular energy dissipation can significantly reduce network lifetime. In this paper, we study the problem of maximizing network lifetime through balancing energy consumption for uniformly deployed low-cost sensor networks. We formulate the energy consumption balancing problem as an optimal balancing data transmitting problem by combining the ideas of corona cluster based network division and optimized transmitting state routing strategy together with data transmission. We propose a localized cluster based routing scheme that guarantees balanced energy consumption among clusters within each corona. We develop a new energy cluster based routing protocol called "OECR". We design an offline centralized algorithm with time complexity O (log n) (n is the number of clusters) to solve the transmitting data distribution problem aimed at energy balancing consumption among nodes in different cluster. An approach for computing the optimal number of clusters to maximize the network lifetime is also presented. Based on the mathematical model, an optimized energy cluster routing (OECR) is designed and the solution for extending OEDR to low-cost sensor networks is also presented. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed routing scheme significantly outperforms conventional energy routing schemes in terms of network lifetime.

  • Network-on-chip (NoC) architecture provides a highper-formance communication infrastructure for system-on-chip designs. Circuit-switched networks guarantee transmission latency and throughput; hence, they are suitable for NoC architecture with real-time traffic. In this paper, we propose an efficient integrated scheme which automatically maps application tasks onto NoC tiles, establishes communication circuits, and allocates a proper bandwidth for each circuit. Simulation results show that the average waiting times of packets in a switch in $6{\times}6$6, $8{\times}8$, and $10{\times}10$ mesh NoC networks are 0.59, 0.62, and 0.61, respectively. The latency of circuits is significantly decreased. Furthermore, the buffer of a switch in NoC only needs to accommodate the data of one time slot. The cost of the switch in the circuit-switched network can be reduced using our scheme. Our design provides an effective solution for a critical step in NoC design.

  • In this paper, the performance of data communication function of military radio equipment P-999K is analyzed based on the standard CSMA/CA protocol which is DFWMAC standard protocol done by IEEE802.11 work group. Basic three standard protocols, i.e. Basic CSMA/CA, Stop & Wait ARQ and 4-Way Handshake CSMA/CA protocols are analyzed and compared with each other under the hidden terminal environment. The computer simulation is also done by using SIMSCRIPT II.5 which is popular software tool for an independent processing. The results show that p-persistent(with p=0.3) CSMA scheme is superior to non-persistent CSMA scheme with non-hidden terminal condition, but the performances of both schemes are almost same with hidden terminal situation. And the results of computer simulations are also showed that Basic CSMA/CA protocol is superior to the other protocols when the ratio of hidden terminals is below 10 % of total user population, however, with the above 20% hidden terminals environment and the higher offered traffic conditions the 4-Way Handshake CSMA/CA protocol shows the most superior performance.

  • Unbalance between user requirements and insufficient network resources makes a congestion. In the future since the communication networks will have very heavy traffic congestion will be more serious. The ATM networks was recommended to support the B-ISDN service for the future multimedia communication. In thie sense of congestion avoidance and recovery the ABR service category in ATM networks allows the feedback flow control mechanism to dynamically allocate the idle bandwidth of the network to users fairly and to control the network congestion rapidly In this paper we introduce a congestion control scheme using systematical approach to confirm robust stability with respect to unknown round trip delay for the network which has both unicast and multicast connections.

  • This paper addresses a simulation for the Ethernet based data transmission between the CIC(Centralized Traffic Control System) and the SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system. Fame error rate and throughput are calculated and compared for the two cases that the CTC/SCADA has an extra error control scheme besides the internal CRC32 of the Ethernet and that no extra error control has been done. Simulation program is constructed with the Matlab and the Matlab GUI and then converted into a stand-alone $c^{++}$ program to be used on any non-Matlab environments.

  • Among the P2P based multimedia streaming architecture, multiple chain architecture has advantage in adapting to dynamically changing network topology simply and rapidly, so this architecture is used for UCC broadcasting system. In UCC broadcasting system, general peer involved in DSLAM becomes UCC server rather than broadcasting system that transfers data from ISP servers. Therefore UCC data generated from UCC server peers is transmitted to peers through DSLAM, and this transmission uses uplink bandwidth of DSLAM. In this paper, I propose an efficient management method of DSLAM uplink bandwidths through negotiating tracker and UCC server peer or head peers of DSLAM. I propose the method that tracker restricts a bitrate of uplink stream of UCC servers when used uplink bandwidth of DSLAM exceeds a certain point of maximum uplink bandwidths. I will show the improved performance of proposed scheme rather than general method with respect to the uplink bandwidth of DSLAM by numerical analysis and simulation.

  • If can be operated on virtually any network transmission media and used to communicate each other whatever system platforms are. But, with the enormous growth of the Internet in the past a few years, the amount of network traffic has increased as the number of users and applications has increased. New applications have new service demands for fulfilling user's satisfaction, and as a result the Internet needs to change as well. This paper shows that why the Internet must change to satisfy the need for QoS to accommodate these and performance of network using QoS establishing 5 Scheme has a dominant improvement through a simulator.

  • This paper proposes a practical method for AGC (Automatic Gain Control) in WiBro (Wireless Broadband) AT (Access Terminal) system. Downlink packets in this system consist of preamble symbols for AGC, AFC (Automatic Frequency Control) and other purposes and data symbols for traffic transmission. In this paper we compare theoretical BER (Bit Error Rate) performance with simulation results and produce optimum parameters for AGC in this system. And we propose an efficient AGC scheme before synchronization.

  • In this paper, we present hybrid ARQ techniques to improve the throughput performance in high speed packet transmission such as Internet or multimedia services in Hospital. In order to evaluate the performance of the three different types of hybrid ARQ schemes, systemized link level simulations based on WWW traffic model are considered. In this paper, we also consider the simulated performance for an average link throughput and a normalized packet delay to compare the hybrid ARQ with link adaptation scheme in GPRS.
