Traffic Engineering and Manageability for Multicast Traffic in Hybrid SDN

  • Multicast communication can effectively reduce network resources consumption in contrast with unicast. With the advent of SDN, current researches on multicast traffic are mainly conducted in the SDN scenario, thus to mitigate the problems of IP multicast such as the unavoidable difficulty in traffic engineering and high security risk. However, migration to SDN cannot be achieved in one step, hybrid SDN emerges as a transitional networking form for ISP network. In hybrid SDN, for acquiring similar TE and security performance as in SDN multicast, we redirect every multicast traffic to an appropriate SDN node before reaching the destinations of the multicast group, thus to build up a core-based multicast tree substantially which is first introduced in CBT. Based on the core SDN node, it is possible to realize dynamic control over the routing paths to benefit traffic engineering (TE), while multicast traffic manageability can also be obtained, e.g., access control and middlebox-supported network services. On top of that, multiple core-based multicast trees are constructed for each multicast group by fully taking advantage of the routing flexibility of SDN nodes, in order to further enhance the TE performance. The multicast routing and splitting (MRS) algorithm is proposed whereby we jointly and efficiently determine an appropriate core SDN node for each group, as well as optimizing the traffic splitting fractions for the corresponding multiple core-based trees to minimize the maximum link utilization. We conduct simulations with different SDN deployment rate in real network topologies. The results indicate that, when 40% of the SDN switches are deployed in HSDN as well as calculating 2 trees for each group, HSDN multicast adopting MRS algorithm can obtain a comparable TE performance to SDN multicast.

LSTM 기반 멀티스텝 트래픽 예측 기법 평가 (Accessing LSTM-based multi-step traffic prediction methods)

  • 최근 IoT 기기들의 활성화에 의해 네트워크가 복잡해짐에 따라, 네트워크의 혼잡을 예측하고 미리 대비하기 위해 단기 트래픽 예측을 넘어 장기 트래픽 예측 연구가 활성화되고 있다. 단기 트래픽 예측 결과를 입력으로 재사용하는 재귀 전략은 멀티 스텝 트래픽 예측으로 확장되었지만, 재귀 단계가 진행될수록 오류가 축적되어 예측 성능 저하를 일으킨다. 이 논문에서는 다중 출력 전략을 사용한 LSTM 기반 멀티스텝 트래픽 예측 기법을 소개하고그 성능을 평가한다. 실제 DNS 요청 트래픽을 기반으로 실험한 결과, 제안된 LSTM기반 다중출력 전략 기법은 재귀 전략 기법에 비해 비정상성 트래픽에 대한 트래픽 예측 성능의 MAPE를 약 6% 줄일 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구는 이륜차 법규위반 및 교통사고 예방을 위한 무인교통단속장비 및 표준규격 개발을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 현재 운영중인 무인교통단속장비의 이륜차 단속의 문제점 및 신기술 검토를 진행하였고, 설문조사를 통해 이륜차 무인교통단속장비 도입타당성 및 기술현황을 조사하였다. 또한 개발장비 현장실험을 통해 이륜차 단속기능을 구현하였고, 성능개선을 통해 단속대상 추가 및 번호인식률이 향상되었다. 현장실험 및 성능평가 결과를 바탕으로 이륜차 무인교통단속장비의 성능기준을 마련하였고 통신프로토콜에서는 차종분류코드 및 위반항목에 이륜차에 관한 사항을 신규로 구성하여 규격을 개발하였다.

P2P 트래픽의 특성 분석과 트래픽 모델링 (Emerging P2P Traffic Analysis and Modeling)

  • 현재 급속히 늘어나고 있는 P2P(Peer to Peer) 애플리케이션은 버스트(burst)한 트래픽을 많이 발생시켜 네트워크에 큰 부하를 주고 있다. 따라서 P2P 트래픽의 특징을 분석하고 이것이 네트워크 및 QoS에 미치는 영향을 이해하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 P2P 애플리케이션의 사용현황을 알아보기 위해 캠퍼스 네트워크의 트래픽을 측정한 후, 측정한 트래픽의 플로우를 분석하고, P2P 트래픽의 자기 유사성을 측정하여 웹 트래픽과 비교 분석하였다. 분석 결과 P2P 트래픽은 기존의 웹 트래픽보다 더 버스트하였으며, 이는 P2P 트래픽이 네트워크 성능에 악영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 측정한 P2P트래픽을 네트워크 성능평가 및 예측에 용이하게 이용할 수 있게 하기 위해, 이를 자기 유사 트래픽 모델을 이용하여 모델링하였다. 유도한 트래픽 모델의 정확성을 평가하기 위해, SSQ(Single Server Queue)를 이용하여 네트워크 성능 평가에서 매우 중요한 파라미터인 큐의 길이와 손실을 예측하였으며, 이것을 측정된 트래픽의 그것과 비교하여 트래픽 모델의 정확성을 평가하였다. 본 논문에서 사용한 자기 유사 트래픽 모델은 P2P 트래픽을 잘 모델링하고 있었으며, 이 결과는 P2P 트래픽의 특성을 고려한 네트워크 설계와 성능을 평가하고 예측할 때 사용될 수 있다.

  • The road sign in dynamic traffic system is an important element which affects on human cognitive performance on driving. Web-based vision system simulator was developed to examine the cognition time of the road sign in dynamic environment. This experiment the cognition time of the road sign in dynamic environment. This experiment was designed in with-subject design with two factors: vehicle speed and the amount of information of the traffic sign. It measured the cognition time of the road sign through two evaluation methods: the subjective test with vision system simulator and computational cognitive model. In these two evaluations of human cognitive performance under the dynamic traffic environment, it demonstrated that subject's cognition time was affected by both the amount of information of traffic sign and driving speed.

For new call, the more the number of channel reserved, the higher the block probability of call became. The blocking probability of data traffic was higher, compared with that of voice traffic

  • In this paper, we propose traffic management support and evaluate the performance through simulation. We suggest traffic management routing protocol that can guarantee reliance according to not only reduction of the Network traffic congestion but also distribution of the network load that prevents data transmission. For performance evaluation, we analyzed the average data reception rate and network load, considering the node mobility. We found that in the mobile Ad Hoc networks, the traffic management service increased the average data reception rate and reduced the network traffic congestion and network load in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks.

  • In this parer, we introduce an algorithm to control flows of the traffic in multi-intersections. It is pointed out that the main problem in traffic control is how to resolve the congested situations for the particular time-durations and directions. The heavy load to a certain direction usually leads the intersection to congested situations, and the adjacent intersections are affected. We control and analyze the traffic flow of multi-intersections consisting of five intersections, in which four intersections are linked to the four directions of the central one. The entrance of vehicles of each direction is described using the concept of probability. We compare the performance of the pretimed signal controls to the traffic adaptive signal controller using a Petri Net simulation tool, Exspect.

  • Modern telecommunication switching systems are SPC(Stored Program Control) machines handling voice, data and other kinds of traffic, in an environment which tends to be fully digital switching and transmission. The throughput of such systems is determined by the real time capacity of its centralized or distributed control processors and by the traffic capacity of the switching network. Designers must verify the traffic and call processing capacity of the switching system and check its performance under traffic load before it is put into service. Verification of traffic and call processing capacity of switching systems is one of the problems treated by teletraffic studies ; teletraffic studies are based on stochastic process, queueing theory, simulations and other quantitative methods of decision making. This study suggests the general methodology to evaluate the throughput and performance of the ISDN switching system. TDX-10 ISDN switching system are employed to give illustrative examples of the methodologies discussed in this study.
