Snoop was suitably designed for wired and wireless network as having snoop agent module in BS(Base Station) which is connecting to both wired and wireless network in order to supplement the problems of TCP. This study examined performance difference by using the web traffic taken wide possession in current internet traffic. The web traffic has greater amount of traffic, shorter life time, and smaller size than other traffics. This study found that snoop producing performance improvement of wireless network in the network mixed with the wired and wireless lead performance loss when transmitting web traffic. This study found that in case of web traffic is transmitted it bring a performance improvement of web traffic as computing BWE((Bandwidth Expansion), and also found that this study prove of performance improvement by decreasing local retranmission.
We analyzed the performance of hierarchical cellular system with multi traffic(voice traffic, data traffic). We executed the computer simulation by the various ratio of traffic generation(voice traffic, data traffic). We generated data traffic at microcell. The more voice traffic generated, the higher the block probability of data traffic became at macrocell.

In this paper, we are dealing with the problems of performance evaluation of Differentiated Services(DiffServ) networks. For successful performance evaluation, the ability to accurately represent "real" traffic on the network by suitable traffic models is an essential ingredient. Many research results on the nature of real traffic measurements demonstrated LRD(long-range dependence) property for the Internet traffic including Web, TELNET, and P2P traffic. The LRD can be effectively represented by self-similarity. In this paper, we design and implement self-similar traffic generator using the aggregated On/Off source model, based on the analysis of the On-Off source model, FFT-FGN(Fast Fourier Transform-Fractional Gaussian Noise) model, and RMD(Random Midpoint Displacement) model. We confirmed the self-similarity of our generated traffic by checking the packet inter-arrival time of TCPdump data. Further we applied the implemented traffic generator to the performance evaluation of DiffServ networks and observed the effect of performance to the a value of the On/Off model, and performance of EF/BE class traffic by CBQ.

This paper proposes a high performance QoS (Quality of Service) traffic transmission scheme to provide real-time multimedia services in wireless networks. This scheme is based on both a traffic estimation of the mean rate and a header compression method by dividing this network model into two parts, core RTP/UDP/IP network and wireless access parts, using the IEEE 802.11 WLAN. The improvement achieved by the scheme means that it can be designed to include a means of provisioning the high performance QoS strategy according to the requirements of each particular traffic flow by adapting the header compression for real-time multimedia data. A performance evaluation was carried out to show the effectiveness of the proposed traffic transmission scheme.

In this paper, performance analysis of video traffic shaper for Motion Picture Experts Group (MPEG) video traffic in on ATM network are investigated. Traffic shaping for MPEG video traffic is proposed as a traffic control function in ATM networks. The proposed shaper smoothes video traffics by controling the output rate of the buffer, which is placed in an MPEG source, according to I,B,P frame sequences of MPEG. In performance analysis of an video traffic shaper, a periodic botch arrival model is suggested to describe cell streams in a frame of MPEG video traffic. The queueing model which has periodic independent botch arrival and periodic deterministic service time is used to obtain the cell loss ratio, the mean cell delay, and the measure of smoothing effect. Simulation results are used to validate this queueing model. The cell loss performance of ATM multiplexer is measured by simulation study with real MPEG-1 data. From the viewpoint of traffic load, the cell loss ratio is observed to be considerably high, which is considered to result from the burstiness of MPEG video traffic. As a result, it is shown that the shaping decreases cell loss ratio of multiplexer. The results of this paper can be employed to establish a basic guideline in the implementation of a traffic control scheme and the design of ATM multiplexer for MPEG video traffic.

A multicast switch, which can provide a single uniform switching function for vastly different classes of traffic, is crucial for the successful deployment of intergrated broadband networks. In this paper, we study the call blocking probability of heterogeneous circuit emulated traffic in a multicast switch. A previous work on the analysis of homogeneous traffic, where all calls have the same fan-out, show the performance showed that the call blocking probability increases rapidly as fan out increases. We study the performance of heterogeneous traffic, which consists of calls of different fan out, and show the performance gaps between larger fan-out traffic and smaller fan-out traffic are larger than those of homogeneous traffic these results indicate the necessity of efficient resource allocation policies to improve the performance of multicast calls. We conclude the paper introducing several methods to improve the performance of multicast traffic.

In this research, we propose packet scheduling algorithm considering different QoS characteristics of real-time traffic and non-real-time traffic in the next generation wireless communication system serving the multimedia traffic and a new efficient framing method cooperated with this packet scheduler. When the selected traffic classes of the selected users are transmitted, our proposed framing method can increase the number of serviced traffic classes by mixing the many different traffic classes within one frame considering data rate decided by the allocated AMC (Adaptive Modulation and Coding) option. Using this proposed method, the fairness among the traffic classes can be achieved and the system performance for total throughput and delay can be enhanced. Simulations are performed to analyze the performance of the proposed framing method. Our proposed packet scheduler and framing method will be applied to the next generation multimedia wireless communication system serving many traffic classes.

This paper analyzes performance measures of a Bluetooth_based mobile home network system. The home network system consists of terminals with Bluetooth interfaces, access points (AP), a home PC, and a gateway A mobile host in wireless terminals uses Mobile IP for supporting the mobility This paper considers four types of data traffic, which are new connection traffic, handoff traffic, Internet data traffic, and control data traffic and suggests a queueing system model of the home network system, where the AP and the home PC are modeled as M/G/1 with four priority queues and the gateway is modeled as M/G/1 with a single queue The generation rate and service time of individual traffic influence their performance measures. Based ell the suggested model, we propose the elapsed time of data traffic in terms of the number of cells, the number of Home PCs, arrival rates of four types of traffic and the service rates of AP/Home PCs/Gateway To analyze influences on the elapsed time with respect to arrival rate of four types of traffic, some examples are given.

Traffic performance in a microcellular system is much more affected by cell dwell time and channel holding time in each cell. Cell dwell time of a call is characterized by its mobility pattern, i.e., stochastic changes of moving speed and direction. Cell dwell time provides important information for other analyses on traffic performance such as channel holding time, handover rate, and the average number of handovers per call. In the next generation mobile communication system, the cell size is expected to be much smaller than that of current one to accommodate the increase of user demand and to achieve high bandwidth utilization. As the cell size gets small, traffic performance is much more affected by variable mobility of users, especially by that of pedestrians. In previous work, analytical models are based on simple probability models. They provide sufficient accuracy in a simple second-generation cellular system. However, the role of them is becoming invalid in a picocellular environment where there are rapid change of network traffic conditions and highly random mobility of pedestrians. Unlike in previous work, we propose an improved probability model evolved from so-called Random walk model in order to mathematically formulate variable mobility of pedestrians and analyze the traffic performance. With our model, we can figure out variable characteristics of pedestrian mobility with stochastic correlation. The above-mentioned traffic performance measures are analyzed using our model.
MPLS stands for “Multi-protocol Label Switching”. It's a layer 3 switching technology aimed at greatly improving the packet forwarding performance of the backbone routers in the Internet or other large networks. We compare the performance of unlabeled IP traffic and labeled IP traffic. In this paper, by varying the packet rate and measuring throughput of the flows we analyze the performance of labeled IP packet traffic and unlabeled IP packet traffic in IP over MPLS.
