The Quartile Deviation and the Control Chart Model of Improvement Confidence for Link Travel Speed from GPS Probe Data (사분위편차 및 관리도 모형에 의한 GPS 수집기반 구간통행속도 데이터 이상치 제거방안 연구)

  • The travel speed collected by the prove-car equipped with the GPS has the problems, which are the data's stability and finding out the representative travel speed, by the influence of the traffic signal and etc. at the interrupted traffic. This study was conducted to develop the method of filtering the outlier data from the data collected by the prove-car. The method to remove the outlier data from the serial data which were collected by the prove-car was adapted to each of the quartile deviation statistics model and the management graphic statistics model. The rate of removing the outlier data by the quartile deviation method was $0{\sim}3.7%$ while the rate by the management graphic statistic methods was $0.3{\sim}7.2%$. Both methods show the low removal rate at the dawn time when the traffic is inactivity, on the other hand the remove rate is high during the daytime. However, both methods have the problem such that the threshold level for removing the outlier data was established at the low bound in the case as good as the statistics model. Therefore, it is required for the experience calibration.

  • Currently, the measurement of RF parameters for a base station in operation is typically limited to easily measured forward path items. In this paper, the forward monitoring ports of base stations are used to measure the reverse RF performance. The system has been implemented and effectiveness has been proven on an operating base station. The receiver sensitivity is measured using an internal CDMA modem which is used to monitor the output power based on closed loop power control when the modem is connected to the base station via a voice call. In order to improve accuracy, in addition to the modem Tx adjust(TxAdj) parameter, the detector's actual measurement is used. For accurate receiver sensitivity, the measurement should be made when there is no traffic which is not possible on an operating base station. Therefore, pilot channel chip energy to received signal power spectral density ratio$(E_c/I_o)$ compensation method is used to offset the receiver sensitivity degradation with voice traffic increase.

  • In some cases, despite the pedestrian jaywalking pedestrian traffic lights to red, or even wait for the walk signal to stand down in the driveway. If this is the case may be liable to lead to a traffic accident. Thus, using an infrared sensor wateuna adopted the approach that the warning announcement when a pedestrian enters the driveway, curved pedestrian crossing the intersection in this case, it is difficult to install. In this paper, we propose a Fitness referral system utilizes a built-in sensor of the Android mobile devices. For this purpose, the sensor is a proximity sensor using an acceleration sensor. The proximity sensor has a number of disadvantages compared to the high precision battery power, the acceleration sensor accuracy, fast response time, on the other hand, the disadvantage is the lower. Close to reduce battery consumption of the sensor, BMI of the user sensor control mechanism and increase the accuracy of the acceleration sensor (Body Mass Index) obtained after the index was applied to the recommendation algorithm, which like the movement mechanism.

  • In high speed multi-wavelength networks, retransmission overhead due to desination conflict or control packet collision is one factor of performance degration because signal prpagation delay is much larger than the transmission time of data packet. In this paper, an efficient WDMA protocol with a collision avoidance mechanism is proposed for high speed WDM single-hop network with a passive star topology. In proposed protocol, each node has cource queues and routing table to store souting informatio. This architecture makes is possible to avoid any kind of collision when a node reserves the channel to transmit a data packet. High system thoughput and channel utilization can be achieved by proposed protocol since there are no discarded packets caused by any collision at transmission time. The performance of proposed protocol is evaluated in term of throughput and delay with variations in offered load. Simulation results show that the proposed protocol has superior performance to convertional protocols under nonuniform traffic as well as uniform traffic.

  • This thesis proposes a new type of Input-Output Buffered ATM Switch which employs an arbiter and its performance under different traffic conditions studied. The proposed switch is designed with a view to exploit the architecture and other characteristics of the arbiter. The primary aim of the proposed switch is the elimination, or at least, the reduction of HOL blocking phenomenon which occurs in the simple input buffered switch. Several HOL arbitration algorithms have been proposed for this purpose in the literature. The proposed switch attempts to reduce the HOL blocking as it uses the arbiter and the buffer at the output port in an effective manner. The arbiter is designed to work with Three Phase Algorithm which is one of the many well known HOL arbitration algorithms. The Proposed switch acquires control over priority transmission through the REQ signal. As the signals are transmitted to the arbiter, the latter controls the one which is sent by the input buffer. Computer simulation results have been provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the Proposed switch under uniform traffic conditions.

  • This paper develops a scheme of resource management for guaranteeing QoS of realtime traffic in wireless mobile internet environments Mobile terminal has significant impact on the QoS originating mobility provided to a real-time application. The currently proposed MRSVP is not clear the boundary of resource reservation tregion and also can give rise to signal overhead to maintain sessions. To solve above problem, we propose the new reservation protocol, mobile cluster based H-MRSVP to combine MRSVP with moving cluster concept. In this paper, we analytically design our model for guaranteeing the QoS of realtime traffic and compare the three schemes: guard channel allocation schemes, DCA and our model. The performance measures are the probabilities of new call blocking, handoff dropping, resource utilization and service completion versus the system offered Erlang load. Consequently, Simulation indicate our model is more flexible than DCA in a view pint of channel utilization and gains the advantage over guard channel scheme with respects to the mobility.

A Study on Driver Behavior and Dilemma Zone during Yellow Interval at Signalized Intersections (신호교차로 황색현시에서의 운전자 형태 및 딜레마 구간 연구방안)

  • Objective of this research is to analyze drivers' behaviors at signalized intersection during yellow interval. For this, deceleration rate of stopping, PRT(Perception-Response Time), and the relationship between dilemma zone and deceleration rate of stopping were surveyed at two signalized intersections located at urban area(Songtan and Suwon) and local area(Yongin) As a result, the deceleration rate of stopping at signalized intersections and a range of dilemma zone were estimated. It was found that the deceleration rate of stopping and PRT were 1.6m/sec$^2$ and 1.27sec, respectively. These values are bigger than ITE's values which have been used in our country. Accordingly, it is considered that these values should be used as a new design criteria for the traffic signal control.

  • In this paper, we evaluate the performance of VoIP in OFDMA-based relay systems with various capabilities of relays. We classify relays according to capability as "mid-capability (MC)" and "high-capability (HC)" relay. In system with HC relays, not only base station (BS) but also relay station (RS) performs scheduling at its ova whereas only BS performs scheduling in system with MC relays using the information reported by MS (i.e. the received signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) of mobile station (HS), the amount of MS traffic, etc). In system with MC relays, the controling overhead of BS is larger than that of system with HC relays. However, since BS has all MS information, efficient resource allocation and scheduling is possible. We derived the "average packet delay," "good packet ratio," and "cell goodput" in a VoIP environment. The simulation results demonstrate that the system with MC relays has better VoIP performance over that with HC relays.

Comparison between Cournot-Nash and Stackelberg Game in Bi-level Program (Bi-level program에서 Cournot-Nash게임과 Stackelberg게임의 비교연구)

  • This paper presents some comparisons between Cournot-Nash and Stackelberg game in bi-level program, composed of both upper level program and lower level one. The upper level can be formulated to optimize a specific objective function, while the lower formulated to express travelers' behavior patterns corresponding to the design parameter of upper level problem. This kind of hi-level program is to determine a design parameter, which leads the road network to an optimal state. Bi-level program includes traffic signal control, traffic information provision, congestion charge and new transportation mode introduction as well as road expansion. From the view point of game theory, many existing algorithms for bi-level program such as IOA (Iterative Optimization Assignment) or IEA (Iterative Estimation Assignment) belong to Cournot-Nash game. But sensitivity-based algorithms belongs to Stackelberg one because they consider the reaction of the lower level program. These two game models would be compared by using an example network and show some results that there is no superiority between the models in deterministic case, but in stochastic case Stackelberg approach is better than that of Cournot-Nash one as we expect.
