일반부두 및 자성대부두 재개발시 통행량 감소에 따른 효과 분석 -사회적 비용분석을 중심으로- (Effect Analysis according to the Reduction of Traffic when General Pier and Jasungdae Pier are Re-developed -Focused on the Social Cost Analysis-)

  • 부산항 북항은 일제 강점기에 축조된 일반부두(1,2,중앙,3,4)에서 시작하여 자성대, 신선대, 감만 부두 등으로 확장되었다. 그러나 도심과 접합 항만의 입지적 특성으로 인하여 물류 활동 및 도시 활동 양 측면에서 문제가 대두되어 왔다. 장치장 부족으로 인한 부두밖 장치장(ODCY) 확대가 대표적이다. 이것은 물류비용 증가뿐만 아니라 우암로, 충장로 등 주요 간선 도로상의 화물 차량 비중을 높이는 결과를 가져와서 심각한 사회 문제가 되고 있다. 본 연구는 일반부두와 자성대부두 재개발로 인한 충장로, 우암로 등 인접 주요 간선도로의 통행량 감소 효과를 분석하고 그동안 차량 통행으로 발생된 교통혼잡으로 인한 사회적 비용의 절감효과를 분석하여 두 부두의 재개발로 인한 효과를 제시하는데 목적이 있다.

  • Video On Demand (VOD) 서비스는 광대역 종합 정보 통신망을 기반으로 하는 대화형 멀티미디어 서비스 중 가장 유용한 서비스로 인식되고 있다. 다수의 가입자가 각각 보고싶은 프로그램을 시청할 수 있는 요구 즉시형 VOD 시스템에서 중앙 비디오 서버만 둘 경우, 비디오 서버가 각 가입자와 점 대 점 연결을 이루면서 다량의 영상정보를 실시간으로 제공해야하기 때문에 가입자가 소수일 때는 서비스 가능하다. 그러나 가입자 수가 많아지면 프로그램 전송망과 비디오 서버에 집중되는 트래픽을 분산시키는 것은 매우 중요하다. 본 논문은 비디오 서버들의 분산 구성과 이들을 연결하는 전송망에 대해 분석하며, 제시한 전송망을 모델로 망 내 트래픽을 분석하고 지역 비디오 서버에 프로그램을 저장하는 방식을 제안한다. 이를 위해 수요량, 지역 비디오 서버의 수, 시청 선호 확률 등 트래픽 파라메터의 변화에 따른 지역 비디오 서버의 프로그램 저장량, 지역 비디오 서버간의 전송 트래픽량, 중앙 비디오 서버와 지역 비디오 서버간의 링크 트래픽량을 분석한다. 그리고, 프로그램 저장 비용, 지역 비디오 서버간 전송 비용, 중앙 비디오 서버와 지역 비디오 서버간 링크 비용으로 계산되는 총 비용을 최소로 하는 지역 비디오 서버의 적정 프로그램 저장량 결정한다.

  • The problem of bandwidth allocation and routing in VP based ATM networks was studied. A priori reservation of resources for VP's reduces the statistical multiplexing gain, resulting in increased Call Blocking Probability (CBP). The focus of this study is on how to reduce CBP by the efficient bandwidth allocation and routing algorithms. Equivalent capacity concept was used to calculate the required bandwidth by the call. and the effect of traffic dispersion was explored to achieve more statistical gain. A cost-effective traffic dispersion routing algorithm, CED, was designed. The algorithm finds the optimal number of dispersion paths for a call, where the gain balances the dispersion cost. Simulation study showed that CED could significantly reduce the CBP.

Performance Evaluation of WiMedia UWB MAC Protocol Algorithm Supporting Mixed Video and Shipboard Control Data Traffic

  • This paper applies WiMedia UWB network into a wireless ship area network (WSAN) so as to support high-quality multimedia services on board and reliable instrument control information as well, since the need for mixed high-quality video traffic and shipboard control data traffic is essential for a high-cost valued digital ship. Thus, in this paper, prioritized contention access (PCA) and distributed reservation protocol (DRP) based on WiMedia UWB (ECMA-368) MAC protocols are combined and proposed to such mixed traffic environment, by varying the portions of superframe according to traffic type. It is shown that the proposed WiMedia UWB MAC protocol can provide reliable mixed video and shipboard control data traffic as well.

조도를 고려한 표지판 인식 (Traffic Sign Recognition Considering the Intensity of Illumination)

  • Recognition of traffic signs helps an unmanned ground vehicle to decide its behavior correctly, and it can reduce traffic accidents. However, low cost traffic sign recognition using a vision sensor is very difficult because the signs are exposed to various illumination conditions. This paper proposes a new approach to solve this problem using an illuminometer which detects the intensity of illumination. Using the intensity of illumination, the recognizer adjusts the parameters for image processing. Therefore, we can reduce the loss of information such as the shape and color of traffic signs. Experimental results show that the proposed method is able to improve the performance of traffic sign recognition in various weather and lighting conditions.

  • Recently, occurrence of alcohol-involved traffic accidents is increasing while all the accidents by violation of law except drunk driving. Traffic accidents by drunk driving has a great external cost. In detecting drunk driving, blood alcohol content Many studies reported close correlation between blood alcohol content and traffic accidents by drunk driving. The risk of traffic accidnet increases exponentially as blood alcohol content increases. To control traffic accidents by drunk driving, decide target population. Heavy drinkers are few and responsible for a small part of the loss while casual drinkers are many and responsible for a large part of the loss. Casual drinkers need to be included in the targer population for the control of traffic accident by drunk driving. Stragegies to reduce the quantity of alcohol consumed, change the pattern of drink, such as frequency of drinking, raise of perceived risk of accident need to be sought.

A Simplified Method to Estimate Travel Cost based on Traffic-Adaptable Heuristics for Accelerating Path Search

  • In the telematics system, a reasonable path search time should be guaranteed from a great number of user's queries, even though the optimal path with minimized travel time might be continuously changed by the traffic flows. Thus, the path search method should consider traffic flows of the roads and the search time as well. However, the existing path search methods are not able to cope efficiently with the change of the traffic flows and to search rapidly paths simultaneously. This paper proposes a new path search method for fast computation. It also reflects the traffic flows efficiently. Especially, in order to simplify the computation of variable heuristic values, it employs a simplification method for estimating values of traffic-adaptable heuristics. The experiments are carried out with the $A^*$ algorithm and the proposed method in terms of the execution time, the number of node accesses and the accuracy. The results obtained from the experiments show that the method achieves very fast execution time and the reasonable accuracy as well.

  • The Fuel cell Rubber tired Train (FRT), which is now getting the attention as the next generation vehicle with its environment-friendliness, is the transportation for smooth connections of city traffic. It is the revival of the surface-car system with its revaluation of the function and technological development. Accordingly, fixed time operation and high speed driving became possible. FRT is operated together with other vehicles on the regular drive way. While this vehicle can solve the problem of traffic congestion in the urban area, it also can be cost-effective when it is compared to the cost of subway construction. It is also designed to minimize the underground or elevated traffic lane, to introduce the new construction technology, to reduce a term of works, and to cut down the operation cost by unmanned automatic driving system. Furthermore, it is considered as the alternative measure of other transportation due to its potential for the ecological way of speed improvement and the accessability to the disabled, elderly and children by developing the vehicle with folding steps or by building the high boarding platforms. In this research, I concentrated on the user oriented interior design of the FRT to make it passenger-friendly and safe in order to maximize the utilization of the vehicle so that all users including wheelchaired, user with baby carriage, elderly and children can conveniently use this vehicle.

  • Recently, Life Cycle Cost (LCC) for civil infrastructures, such as pavements, bridges, and dams, has been emphasized. However there are few cost models for road tunnel especially for maintenance phase. The road network is composed of highways, bridges, and road tunnels. Thus it is as important as for road tunnels to keep safe for traffic. The maintenance strategies for road tunnels can be achieved based on the minimization of LCC in maintenance phase. For this purpose, in this paper, cost model and cost classification for road tunnel in maintenance phase are suggested.

QoS 경로의 선계산을 적용한 부하분산 QoS 라우팅 (Load Balanced QoS Routing for Precomputation of QoS Routes)

  • 본 논문에서는 대규모 네트워크에서의 부하분산을 고려한 QoS 라우팅을 제안한다. 이를 위해 경로설정을 위한 비용 산정 방식을 선계산 방식의 경로계산에서 제안하고 선계산된 다중경로들 중에서 경로를 선택하는 방안을 제안한다. 제안한 비용산정 방식은 도메인으로 분할된 대규모 네트워크의 QoS 라우팅에서 선계산 방식으로 경로를 설정하고, 이들 경로들의 예약 가능성을 높이기 위해 자원 예약 측면에서 가장 좋은 K개의 경로들을 부하분산을 고려하여 계산한다. 또한 이러한 다중 경로들 중에서 비용산정에 근거한 경로선택확률 에 따라 경로를 선택한다. 그리고 제안한 QoS 라우팅 방식을 transit traffic과 intra traffic에 모두 적용하여 도메인간 라우팅과 도메인내 라우팅을 무리 없이 연계하면서 transit traffic을 우선으로 하는 방식 을 제안한다. 따라서 본 논문에서 제안한 부하분산 QoS 라우팅은 전체 네트워크 자원의 최적사용 뿐만 아니라 자원의 부하 분산을 가능하게 할 것으로 기대된다.
