Analysis of Dynamic bandwidth allocation scheme for ATM/LAN interworking unit (ATM/LAN 연동장치의 동적대역할당 방식에 대한 성능해석)

  • In the evaluation of Broadband-ISDN, the main issue is to interconnect existing LANs and MANs to B-ISDN based on Asynchrous Transfer Mode. However, LANs provide connectionless services, whereas the ATM network provides connection-oriented services. So some problem arises from accessing ATM switchs to transparently transmit connectionless data via B-ISDN. Two methods then were recommended by ITU-TS to support the connectionaless services. In the paper, we do the numerical analysis, using the stochastic fluid flow method, of dynamic bandwidth allocation sheme with two class traffics in the virtual path established between Interworking Units(JWUS) interconnecting LANs to an ATM network and Connectionless Servers(CLSs). The loss mechanism of each traffic is controlled by the contents of buffer. The vandwidth which the IWU requests the CLS is estimated by the number of On-Off sources in the On state. We use the stochsastic fluide flow method which is to find the steady-state joint probability in each level of the IWU buffer. The length of the IWU buffer as the real random variable is changed by traffics entering the IWU.

  • This paper proposes a scheduling algorithm for efficiently processing multimedia pakcet services in OFDMA physical system of the future broadband wireless access networks. The scheduling algorithm uses wireless channel state estimation, and allocates transmission rates after deciding transmission ordering based on class and priority policy. As the result, the proposed scheduling algorithm offers maximum throughput and minimum jitter for realtime services, and fairness for non-realtime services. In simulation study, the proposed algorithm proves superior performances than traditional round robin method.

  • In this paper, we implement a diffserv-capable router on the linux system and evaluate its performance. The router supports the packet marking for the input finks that is different from the previous implementation. The edge diffserv-capable router can guarantee the performance of each class, even in a congested condition. We compare the performance of the diffserv-capable router with that of the normal router in terms of PDBs (per domain behaviors), which are defined with traffic conditioning rules and PHBs (per hop behaviors).

  • 무선 멀티홉 네트워크에서 멀티미디어 트래픽의 QoS(Quality of Service) 지원을 위하여 EDCA(Enhanced Distributed Channel Access) 기반의 동적 우선순위 할당 기법이 다수 제안되었다. 해당 기법들은 각 홉에서의 최소한의 전송 지연 보장을 위하여 클래스별 예상 지연 시간을 계산한다. 하지만 각 클래스별 예상 지연 시간의 계산은 무선 채널에서의 간섭, 충돌 및 링크 품질에 영향을 받기 때문에 정확한 예측이 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 EDCA 기반의 동적 우선순위 할당을 위한 정교한 클래스별 지연 시간 예측 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 무선 채널의 링크 품질과 전송 패킷의 크기를 고려하여 좀더 실제와 유사한 지연 시간을 예측할 수 있다. 실험을 통해 제안하는 기법이 기존의 기법보다 정확성이 높으며 이를 통해 동적 우선순위 할당 기법의 성능을 향상시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • The work aims to evaluate the necessary physical properties of Abrasion Resistant Pavers designed for high volume pedestrian and road vehicle traffic and their influence on the selection of raw materials and ceramic processes. The pavers' specifications such as high strength and ware resistance demand a careful clay preparation, slow drying, slow firing and a balanced chemical and mineralogical composition. Therefore, developing abrasion Resistant Pavers in existing modern brickmaking plants, which are designed primarily for making bricks and pavers for domestic applications, has become a challenge for manufacturers and ceramic professionals. The significance of quality control and research and development in the production of these high class pavers is also emphasised in this work through the investigation of a paver that exhibits shrinkage cracking.

  • 인터넷의 급성장으로 해킹이나 Dos 공격, 웜, 바이러스 등의 사이버 범죄가 크게 증가하고 지능화되어 최근 역추적에 대한 관심이 날로 증가하고 있다. 보안 도구로 침입탐지시스템(IDS) 이나 침입방지시스템 (IPS) 등이 있으나 해킹이나 DoS 공격을 방어하는데 현실적으로 한계가 있다. 따라서 능동적인 해킹 방어를 위한 기본적인 기술로 해커의 실제 위치를 추적하는 역추적 시스템 기술이 필요하다. 특히 IPv4에서의 역추적 시스템에 대한 연구는 활발하게 이루어지고 있지만 IPv6에 대한 연구는 아직 미흡하다. 본 논문에서는 IPv4의 주소 고갈로 인해 앞으로 이를 대신할 IPv6에 대한 공격 근원지 역추적 시스템 개발이 시급하다고 보고. 해킹을 시도하는 해커의 실제 위치를 실시간으로 추적할 수 있도록 IPv6 헤더 패킷의 트래픽 클래스(Traffic Class)와 플로우 라벨(Flow Label)을 이용하여 IPv6에서의 실시간 네트워크 침입자 역추적 시스템 모델을 제안하고자 한다.

  • In this paper we propose an explicit rate allocation algorithm for ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) Networks using the available bit rate(ABR) class of service and study the performance of this algorithm. We examine the behavior of ABR traffic with the suggested algorithm, and demonstrate that the algorithm is fair and maintains network efficiency with low cell loss rate. The simulation results show substantial improvements in fairness and efficiency over the existing algorithms.

  • Intra- and inter- datacenter data traffic is rapidly increasing due to the spread of smart devices, cloud computing, and non-face-to-face services. Recently, 400-Gbps optical transceivers based on 100-Gbps/channel have been released primarily by major overseas companies. Various solutions for next-generation datacenter interconnect are being proposed by international standardization and multiple source agreement groups. Following this trend, ETRI has developed a 400-Gbps optical transmission/reception engine using 100-Gbps/channel light sources and photodetectors as well as a silica-based AWG. In the future, technologies of optical devices and components for intra-datacenter communication are expected to be developed based on a data rate of 200-Gbps/channel. Thus, 1.6-Tbps class optical transceivers will be released.

  • In order to detect urban conditions, the number of means of transportation and traffic flow are essential factors to be identified. This paper improved the detection system capabilities shown in previous studies using the SwinTransformer model, which showed higher performance than existing convolutional neural networks, by learning various vehicle types using existing Mask R-CNN and introducing today's widely used transformer model to detect certain types of vehicles in urban aerial images.
