  • Traditional attire has assumed a pivotal role within the contemporary fashion industry. The objective of this study is to construct a computer vision model tailored to the recognition of traditional costumes originating from five distinct countries, namely India, Korea, Japan, Tanzania, and Vietnam. Leveraging a dataset comprising 1,608 images, we proceeded to train the cutting-edge computer vision model YOLOv8. The model yielded an impressive overall mean average precision (MAP) of 96%. Notably, the Indian sari exhibited a remarkable MAP of 99%, the Tanzanian kitenge 98%, the Japanese kimono 92%, the Korean hanbok 89%, and the Vietnamese ao dai 83%. Furthermore, the model demonstrated a commendable overall box precision score of 94.7% and a recall rate of 84.3%. Within the realm of the fashion industry, this model possesses considerable utility for trend projection and the facilitation of personalized recommendation systems.

  • This study investigated news comprehension via the social media by comparing the reading of a news story on the news paper. A news story on the social media was suggested to present information in a conversational form, which differs from a traditional reporting style. To compare the different forms of news information presentation, two conditions were created: in a control condition, a news story was written in a traditional reporting form. In the experimental condition, the same news story was constructed in a conversational form. Participants were assigned randomly in one of two conditions. They read the news story and afterwards, they were asked to recall firstly, the core idea of the news story, secondly the whole news story, and finally to answer to the 10 questions that assessed how well they learned from the news story. Participants' responses were content-analyzed and produced six variables, the extent to recall the core idea, the extent to recall the whole story, the extent to recall wrong information, the extent to recall additional information, the extent to recall causally related contents in general, and finally the extent to recall causally related contents in story-specific. Analyses on the six variables revealed that the group in the news paper condition recalled more core idea, the whole story, and additional information than the group in the social media. But the news paper condition recalled less of wrong information than the group in the social media condition. Additionally, the news paper condition learned more than the group in the social media. Regarding the recall of causally related contents, the general causal relationships were recalled more in the group in the social media condition but the story specific causal relationships were recalled more in the group in the news paper condition. The findings seemingly indicated that a traditional news reporting contributes to news story comprehension more than the conversational form. Authors however added discussions and advised that the findings needed to be read under caution.

But approximately 10% of people injected with contrast media experience adverse reaction, and drug eruption accounts for more than 40% of all adverse reactions. We report a case of mild drug eruption and its treatment process based on korean traditional medicine. The patient is a 50 years old female diagnosed with functional dyspepsia. The patient had gastric discomfort and alternation between diarrhea and constipation. All symptoms showed nearly complete remission with continued korean traditional medical treatment. The patient had been injected with contrast media for Computed tomography(CT) evaluation of her breast cancer history. Rashes appeared on back and abdomen, and urticaria and pruritus appeared on the patient's finger 1 day after injection. We prescribed Goreisan(TSUMURA CO &, TJ-17) and acupuncture on Quchi(LI11), Zusanli(ST36), Yangxi(LI5), Yanggu(SI5). Consequently, the drug eruption showed remarkable improvement. • This study examines the types of strategic alliances formed between terrestrial broadcasters and content start-ups, their resource inter-dependence and the dynamic evolution of their relationship through a case study of KBS Labs, a strategic alliance between KBS and content start-ups. Mergers, acquisitions and strategic alliances sought by large media companies or strategic alliances made only between disparate providers in broadcasting and telecommunications industries are now actively pursued by traditional media and start-ups. The alliances between traditional media and start-ups are beneficial to both parties: traditional media can quickly implement start-ups' innovative ideas and business models and start-ups can tap into not only vast amounts of content being created by or in the archives of traditional media but also their capital, office space and reputation. Therefore, the case study of KBS Labs will help draw out important implications for motivating strategic alliances between traditional media and start-ups. To this end, the resource-based view and the evolutionary theory of the firm are adopted to explore the characteristics and development process of the KBS Labs business.

  • Digital technology is recognised as a generalized technology in the media industry, therefore there is an opinion which shows that the markets for its old media will be replaced by new media. However, some researchers have confirmed that the printed media which has a long historical background will be continuously selected by the audiences. As going through the historical background of the printed media, it has been challenged by the freshly created media. And traditional printed media does not disappear as the challenge of new media. As the challenge of new media, the printed media will show the new future of the printed media itself and its market as well by the transformations through the acceptance and merging the new technologies.
