Development of the Revised Self-Organizing Neural Network for Robot Manipulator Control (로봇 메니퓰레이터 제어를 위한 개조된 자기조직화 신경망 개발)

  • Industrial robots have increased in both the number and applications in today's material handling systems. However, traditional approaches to robot controling have had limited success in complicated environment, especially for real time applications. One of the main reasons for this is that most traditional methods use a set of kinematic equations to figure out the physical environment of the robot. In this paper, a neural network model to solve robot manipulator's inverse kinematics problem is suggested. It is composed of two Self-Organizing Feature Maps by which the workspace of robot environment and the joint space of robot manipulator is inter-linked to enable the learning of the inverse kinematic relationship between workspace and joint space. The proposed model has been simulated with two robot manipulators, one, consisting of 2 links in 2-dimensional workspace and the other, consisting of 3 links in 2-dimensional workspace, and the performance has been tested by accuracy of the manipulator's positioning and the response time.

  • In this paper, in order to reduce the electrical disaster such as electrical fire at traditional markets, we need to develop the circuit breaker which is able to monitor the power status of electrical equipments. Therefore, for solving the those problems, we developed the detection censor(ZCT, CT) and equipment of data analysis and transmission. The detection censor and equipment is able to monitor the electrical equipments condition(over current, leakage current, arc, etc.). We constructed Test-Bed for testing reliability of the circuit breaker and obtained certification. And we tested the over current, leakage current and arc under the normal condition. This paper will be used to the data for development an cabinet panel which is able to monitor the actual loads.

  • This paper proposes an alternate time-switched multiplexed space-frequency block coding technique for single-carrier modulation with frequency domain equalization. The traditional multiplexed space-frequency block coding technique for single-carrier modulation uses multiple groups of two transmitters and suppresses the interference signals of other SFBC groups at the receiver. In this paper, we reconfigure transmit signals to adapt them for alternate time-switched multiplexed SFBC for single-carrier modulation with frequency domain equalization and receiver structures and propose a structure for transmitter and receiver, show that its performance is better than the traditional algorithm by simulations.

  • The purpose of this study Was to investigate the effects of ponding depth treatment on water balance in paddy fields. Three ponding depth treatment, shallow, traditional, and deep were used. Daily values of rainfall amount, ponding depth, irrigation water, drainage water, evapotranspiration, and infiltration were measureed in the field. The results showed that irrigation water depths were 198mm, 195mm, and 355mm in shallow, traditional, and deep ponding, respectively. The three treatments did not show any statistical difference in growth and yields. Shallow depth treatment showed the largest yield.

  • In order to check traction of the elevator, the load-test is positively necessary on the inspection of elevator in Korea. So actual loads are used in the elevator car for the load-test. However, some of advanced countries in Europe, for example Germany, are using the alternative method with no load test instead of traditional load-test. Commonly hydraulic elevator, compared to passenger elevator is mainly used for loading heavy weights. It requires a great deal of labor to carry out load-test. The reason is why we developed a new inspection skill for the load-test of hydraulic elevator without actual loads. The results of studies show that the new method of the load-test can be replace the traditional load-test.

Representative Temperature Assessment for Improvement of Short-Term Load Forecasting Accuracy (단기 전력수요예측 정확도 개선을 위한 대표기온 산정방안)

  • The current representative temperature selection method with five cities cannot reflect the sufficient regional climate characteristics. In this paper, the new representative temperature selection method is proposed with the consideration of eight representative cities. The proposed method considered the recent trend of power sales, the climate characteristics and population distribution to improve the accuracy of short-term load forecasting. Case study results for the accuracy of short-term load forecasting are compared for the traditional temperature weights of five cities and the proposed temperature weights of eight cities. The simulation results show that the proposed method provides more accurate results than the traditional method.

Analysis of water balance for pending depth treatment in paddy fields (논 담수심 처리에 따른 관개용수량의 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate tile effects of pending depth treatment on water balance in paddy fields. Field experiment was performed in an experimental farm in Taegu, southern part of Korea during the rice growing season In 2001, 2002 and 2003. Experimental plots were three 8m ${\times}$ 80m rectangular plots. Three pending depth treatments, very shallow, shallow, and deep were used. Daily values of water balance components were measured in the field. The irrigation amounts measured at the experimental plots showed that the very shallow and the shallow ponded plots required smaller amount than the deep ponded plot. The shallow ponded plot saved irrigation water about 17.7% compared with the traditional deep ponded plot in 2001 The very shallow ponded plot saved irrigation water about 25.7% compared with the traditional deep ponded Plot in 2002, The shallow ponded plot saved irrigation water about 18% compared with the deep ponded plot in 2003.

New Magnetic Porcelain Mmaterials using Isotropic Sr-ferrite Granules (등방성 Sr-페라이트 과립을 이용한 새로운 자성도자기 소지)

  • The new magnetic porcelain materials have been studied by mixing magnetic St-ferrite powders with traditional porcelain materials before forming process. For the maintenance of magnetic characteristics after glaze firing process, the Sr-ferrite grains with the size of 1∼2 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ were agglomerated as the isotropic granules with the size of 0.5∼2 mm. The high characteristics of magnetic porcelain materials were achieved at the following conditions; isotropic Sr-ferrite granules of 30 wt%, granule size of 1.4∼2 mm, and glaze firing temperature of $1250^{\circ}C$ in air The magnetic porcelain materials indicated the high magnetic properties, such as the remanent flux density of 240 G, the intrinsic coercivity of 3910 Oe, and the surface flux density of 178 G. The extraction properties of the magnetic tea cups were high compared to that of the traditional tea cups.

  • In the process of optical parts machining, polishing has been applied. Traditional polishing process is suitable for spherical optical parts. But it is very difficult to apply traditional process for aspheric optical parts. Nowadays, as growing needs for aspherical optic parts, many researches have been conducted. In this study, we developed computer controlled polishing system which consists of three major parts of active pressure control for correcting polishing process, mechanical on-machine measurement for rough polishing, and optical on-machine measurement for finish polishing, respectively. In this paper, a systematic stretegy for correcting polishing process, pressure control scheme for polishing tool, and on-machine measurement methods for automated and precise polishing are suggested. The information about developed machine is also included.
