With the increase in multi-cultural families, Korea is seeing a rapid increase in immigrated housewives, who are closely related to food culture. However, studies for the diet of multi-cultural families, which is most closely related to our lives have not been sufficiently researched. With this background, this study conducted research for immigrated women nationwide about food cultures to provide the possibility which Korean food culture would be developed harmoniously with various foreign food cultures. In this study, the immigrated women seemed to have adapted to Korean food culture quickly, but they showed differences according to some conditions like countries they are from and the time they have been in Korea. To achieve this, we need to conduct consistent and in depth studies for food cultures in multi-cultural families so that we can make healthy development in food culture, harmonious with traditional Korean culture.

This study highlights the homogeneity in the heritage of the costume cultures between the Gulf of Aden, a part of the Horn region of Africa and the Arab region of West. Asia. Specifically, a cross-cultural perspective is used to examine the similarities between the two regions based on their (1) geographic living cultures and (2) the use of a costume accessory called Burga-a face veil. The current trend in research on the traditional costume culture of Africa mostly ties art with the traditional costume culture and examines its from an aesthetic or animalism perspective rather than from a cross cultural Perspective. Compared to Previous research in this area this study used literature reviews and Pictorial analysis to analyze costume cultures from a cross-cultural perspective. The Burga, which is worn in the low lands of the Horn region, which is located between the West Asia and African continents, as well as the Arab region, shows a reciprocal cultural exchange between the two regions. Similarities can be found in the shape, design, decorative elements, and the way the Bursa was worn in two regions. Although the Burga as a face veil is only a small part of a costume, it reaffirms the similar living cultures and geographic characteristics of the two regions. As the living culture environment becomes similar around the world, this study should help with cross culture negotiations as well as forther the development of traditional costume research.

Nowadays, landscape architecture development faces several challenges such as how to inherit Chinese cultures and spirits, how to sustain historical and traditional features and how to keep landscape vital in modem development of city and society. Through interpretation of Chinese culture nature which is set as the research principle, this paper concludes to 'natural, suitable and special' leading idea of inheriting, constructing and preserving Chinese landscape. This idea also integrates traditional, modern, western and Chinese cultures and features. With projects and examples, it also explains those bad effects to landscape inheriting: un-enough mending, natural aging, unsuitable policies, and over development etc. This paper also addresses Beijing Tiantan Park and Shanghai Jiangnan Ship Firm landscape design to show successful protection of traditional gardens. Various protections of the architectures and surroundings and innovation of traditional landscape architecture are also stated.

Tuban area in East Java, Indonesia, has a role as one of international ancient trading ports since 11th century. For that role, Tuban has accepted many foreign cultures that are brought by other nations, such as Tionghoa and Gujarat. The improvement of Tuban that involves international relationship clearly influences the forms of tradition and culture that is shown in Tuban nowadays. It is believed that from those tradition and cultures owned by people of Tuban, producing cloth is one of the oldest tradition maintained by the people. Those clothes, as one of traditional products, have unique identity that differ them to other regions. It is because the uniqueness of people's knowledge about cosmology concept, and skill owned by the people that passes through generations. This research explains the condition of traditional cloth tradition of Tuban society with fundamental ground data and explains elements that intervenes the tradition, and forms resulted from it.

Chinese shadow puppetry is an ancient form of drama with a long history. Known as the "mother of Chinese folk opera", it has rich cultural connotations and artistic value. At the same time, as a classic video game genre, side-scrolling games have many loyal fans around the world. However, in recent years, some previous entertainment cultures such as shadow puppetry are slowly disappearing. In contrast, video games play an increasingly important role in people's entertainment. Combining Chinese traditional culture with video games can be a great way to promote the preservation of these cultures. By making traditional culture more accessible and engaging, developers can help to ensure that these cultures continue to be enjoyed by future generations.The side-scrolling game is a classic game type, and it has many similarities with shadow puppetry. This paper will analyze the similarities and differences between Chinese shadow puppetry and horizontal version games, and try to explore how to organically integrate the two, so as to promote the inheritance and development of traditional culture, and promote cultural innovation and the development of creative industries.

Furniture is very important in our lives. Especially traditional wood furniture of Korea has been developed practically in the area of form, compositions, manufacturing technique and etc because of the rapid environmental changes. Jang Sung has a very efficient geographical characters to get the adequate timbers for furniture. And the late Mr Seol SeokCheol had devoted all his life to out-and-out artisan spirit for the purpose of korean wood furniture manufacturing. In this paper, l try to explain regional and cultural characteristics of JS, special designs for wood furniture of JS, manufacturing process of traditional wood furniture, especially in the center of his works. Tradition is an essential power to a country and a race. Now we are living living in the state-of-art age and we share all the cultures and merchandise globally but nevertheless, a nation and a race who has a unique tradition is still a cultural advanced country and these works of our ancestors are the best souvenir for the tourists. So we have to memorize these facts and we will have to raise and develop our power of traditional cultures, including from the traditional wood furniture.

Nowadays' culture' is an important topic of conversation and rigorous researches have been done about the cultures of our neighboring countries such as China and Japan. It is expected that studies concerning applications of each traditional culture in modern design will be made rigorously in the near future. In this context this study chose five-star hotel restaurants located in Korea and investigated how the Korean, Chinese and Japanese cultures are incorporated into their modern interior design. The data were classified by space and design elements. The results show that colorful Korean identity(or Koreanity) was applied in Korean restaurants rather than the simplicity and naturalness of traditional space. As for Chinese restaurants, a large scale of space which Chinese traditional space reveals was not adopted because of their location too, but brilliant patterns and colors were used consistently. The typical Japanese style of simple lines, colors and materials were reflected in Japanese restaurants.

Rhizopus oryzae KSD-815 was isolated from nuruk that has been used to make Korean traditional wines. This study was performed to investigate the effect of cultures of R. oryzae KSD-815 on cardiovascular disorders and cancer metastasis. Firstly, these cultures were sequentially fractionationed with n-hexane (TAHe), ethylacetate (TAE), n-butanol (TAB), and $H_2O$ (TAW). The TAE inhibited the activity of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) and TAB suppressed platelet aggregation in vitro. TAE and TAB inhibited cell motility of human breast cancer cells. Furthermore, TAW interrupted the formation of neovasculature and tube-like structure, and down-regulated the expression of angiogenic factors, basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), tumor necrosis factor-$\alpha$ (TNF-$\alpha$), and hypoxia-inducible factor-$1{\alpha}$ (HIF-$1{\alpha}$) in breast cancer cells. These results indicated that cultures of R. oryzae KSD-815 display the inhibitory activities on hypertension, platelet aggregation, and metastasis, and suggest that these cultures might be further probed for the purposes as therapeutic agents or dietary supplements.

A variety of traditional costumes have been developed in Asia due to different natural and cultural environments and they are still worn by people in many areas. Traditional costumes in Asia have been formed under the influence of various ideologies, as well as technology and social structure. Three Asian religions(Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam), which have undeniably strong influence on traditional Asian cultures, have great effects on the styles of traditional costume in each region of Asia. The purpose of this study is to compare the characteristics and aesthetic values of traditional Asian costumes. To do this, the author used images of traditional costumes, which were taken in person by the author, in each region of Asia as reference. Unlike the traditional costumes in the West, which expose the body shape, traditional Asian costumes have nonstructural features in construction, form and wearing rules. They are also decorated with religious symbols and other ornaments, which is different from functional and non-decorative modern clothes. Each traditional Asian costume has unique characteristics. The costume under the influence of Buddhism shows the beauty of concealment that features trans-spatiality and abundant silhouette. On the other hand, the Hindu costume shows the beauty of symbolization represented by very colorful and complex ornaments, while costume in the Islam regions shows the beauty of restraint with clothes that wrap up the body in accordance with its strict religious discipline. Asian religions also represent philosophy, culture as well as an ethnic group. They have influenced entire Asian cultures including the arts, aesthetics and social structure and decided the style of costumes.

The purpose of this study is to analyze how modern fashion brands practice cultural sustainability by investigating the ways they use and reinterpret traditional culture and clothing. The transmission and reinterpretation of traditional cultural elements connect the past, present, and future. These forces also lead to the development of new creativity in the fashion industry. Three brands have been selected for case studies: Danha (Korea), Mittan (Japan), and Jan Jan Van Essche (Belgium). These brands possess in-depth understanding of traditional cultural elements, including clothing, dyeing techniques, and patterns unique to various regions and minority groups. The brands all make use of traditional cultural identities whose clothing contains the historical and sentimental values of various regions and ethnic groups. The use and mixing of various cultures can be seen as the respectful preservation of global culture. Also, in contemporary fashion, the use of traditional culture plays an important role in the presentation and development of creative designs. The use of traditional handicraft techniques and the use of traditional clothing in the past convey cultural diversity to future generations; they will have a lasting influence on future fashion trends. The results of the study show that cultural sustainability in contemporary fashion has been implemented through safeguarding and respecting indigenous cultures and developing cultural elements into creative design.
