  • The influence of tire characteristics is investigated by the simulation of an agricultural tractor. First the simulation of the tire is discussed. Different models are proposed and evaluated on their validity and their applicability . Also the practical measurement of some parameters is discussed. In a second paragraph the tractor model used in presented. In a second paragraph the tractor model used is presented. In the third part some results of the simulation are communicated . Beside the normal motions along and around the lateral axis, special attention is attracted on the hop. But one of the conclusions is that the simulation of hop is not possible without non-linear elements.

  • In order to analyze lateral control in the forward manuever of a tractor- trailer combination , a human operator model and a kinematic vehicle model were utilized for the operator/vehicle system. By combining the vehicle and operator models, a mathematical model of the closed-loop operator/vehicle system was formulated. A computer program was developed so as to simulate the motion of the tractor-trailer combination . In order to verify the operator/vehicle system model, the results of the field trials were compared with the simulated results. There was found to be reasonably good agreement between the two.

  • Arm-type implements of tractor are mainly utilized for the slope land operation. The proposed hydraulic system was implemented to arm-type implements of tractor. An experiment was conducted to evaluate response characteristics of the designed arm-type implement control system attached by three-point hitch of tractor at various conditions, such as engine speed, pumping rate and cylinder input flow. Effects of the valve response time didn't affect engine speed. The flow rate of pump and cylinder changed to the pressure loss. Also, the pressure loss was within 2 MPa and the response characteristic was sufficient enough to use as the arm-type implement system.

  • A finite analysis of tractor cabin for ROPS design was performed. Finite element model was made to take account of the tractor cabin structures. Four tests were defined in OECD standard; (1) longitudinal loading (2) rear crushing test (3) side loading (4) front crushing test. The results of four independent analyses and sequential analysis are compared with test results.

  • Recently, the work machine is widely used in the agricultural machine and to use the power source of the tractor, the mower had been widely used as a working machine for mowing. The mower is classified as a front mower, mid-mower, and rear mower according to the mounting position of the lower frame on tractor. The main structure of mower is composed of deck, gearbox, and blade. This study concerns a study on air flow characteristics of Mid-mower for tractor. An air flow characteristics of the Mid-mower deck was evaluated by the velocity vector, flow path, and total air flow according to the number of revolutions. As the analysis results, The inner path of designed deck had no effect on air flow.

  • The working tactor of this study, an agriculture machine, is consisted of 4 wheel driving system with gear trains and 4-type wheel steering system. Since technological regions for 4 wheel driving system and 4-type wheel steering system are some large, we divide on two studies on 4 wheel driving system and 4-type wheel steering system This study develops transmission and axle that are very important units for strong working operation because the power of tractor is largely affected by transmission and axle. Even if the development of the power train is some common technology, it is very complicated work and needs many experience know-hows. So, for new given specifications fitted to the working tractor, a kind of new agriculture machine, this study haws out processes that are development of assembly drawing and strength analysis through classical method and CAE software for all internal parts and housing cases.

  • The torque loads were measured at the input shaft of the transmission and driving shaft of the tractor having a cage wheel attached to the driving tires as a traction aid during. a rotavating operation in wet paddy fields with deep hardpan. Their load spectra were also calculated. Effects of design parameters of the cage wheel on the load characteristics were analyzed. The torque load exerted on the input shaft decreased as diameter of the cage wheel increased and increased as the rotating speed of the rotavator increased. The torque load exerted on the driving shaft increased as the working speed of the tractor increased and decreased as the PTO speed increased. Both the torque loads with the cage wheel were greater than those without the cage wheel. The cage wheel was developed for this study.

  • Performance of a four- wheel tractor fabricated by Tongyang Moolsan Co., Ltd, Korea was tested in Thailand during May-June 2000. Wheel slip and field capacity were measured in three fields using different traction devices and implements. The tractor worked satisfactorily in the test conditions. Wheel slip of 26.05-33.63 % and the field capacity of 0.17 - 0.20 ha/hr were observed during plowing operation. Further tractive performance tests using a three-point linkage configuration are recommended in Thailand field conditions. Different designs of cage wheels are recommended to be tested to optimize the tractive performance.

  • An autonomous tractor requires not only automatic steering (automatic guidance) but also automated control of tractor functions and implement operations. Examples of tractor functions include engine throttle, transmission speed, and 3-point hitch position. Implement operations include tillage, planting, and cultivating. This article provides an overview of a map-based methodology used for the implementation of autonomous field operations of agricultural tractors. The procedure for developing autonomous field operation maps were presented, and several important issues in the implementation of map-based autonomous operations were discussed. These issues included combining field operation maps, position offset, and real-time sensing and update of field operation maps.

  • The vibration that occurs when starting the agricultural tractor is raised more than double compared to the general situation. In this case, impulsive vibration make the machine's life to be shortened, which can cause a driver's physical problems also. Therefore, in this paper, we have taken an effective way to reduce the impulsive vibration that occurs when starting a agricultural tractor. As a result, we confirmed that appling the anti-vibration pads and the high stiffness engine mounts is effective method to reduce the impulsive vibration.
