견인용 IPMSM의 신뢰성 향상을 위한 형상 설계 (Shape Design of IPMSM for the Reliability Improvement of Traction Motors)

  • IPMSM for traction motor has high power density and wide operating range. But high power density causes internal temperature rise and it makes big armature reaction which causes irreversible demagnetization. And with wide operating range, rotor rotating fast gets stress from centrifugal force. For this reason, traction motor is designed to considerate stress of rotor and irreversible demagnetization for reliability. This paper explains shape design method of 120kW IPMSM accounting improvement of reliability. Finally, the validity of the analysis and the performance evaluation were verified through testing of the final model.

  • 본 논문에서는 견인 구동을 위한 스위치 릴럭턴스 전동기의 설계와 특성해석을 수행하였다. 이를 위하여 기계적 전기적으로 유효한 범위에서 각 파라미터의 값을 변경하면서 시뮬레이션 성능의 특성변화를 파악하였고 우수한 성능을 가지는 범위를 제시하였다. 제시된 범위를 바탕으로 설계파라미터를 조합하여 시작기를 설계하고 그 성능을 시뮬레이션 하였으며 시작기를 제작하여 실험하였다.

  • Prediction of the top(service) speeds of high-speed trains and configuration design to trainset of them has been studied using the neural network system The traction system. The traction system of high-speed trains is composed of transformers, motor blocks, and traction motors of which locations and number in the trainset formation should be determine in the early stage of train conceptural design. Components of the traction system are the heaviest parts in a train so that it gives strong influence to the top speeds of high-speed trains. Prediction of the top speeds has been performed mainly with data associated with the traction system based on the frequently used neural network system-backpropagation. The neural network has been trained with the data of the high-speed trains such as TGV, ICE, and Shinkanse. Configuration design of the trainset determines the number of trains motor cars, traction motors, weights and power of trains. Configuration results from the neural network are more accurate if neural networks is trained with data of the same type of trains will be designed.

  • In this paper presents a modeling method for simulation of Tration Motor using Matlab/Simulink This model is well adopted in the traction motor and speed, torque estimation. This model consist o IM(induction motor) block, Load block and controller blocks. This paper use the indirect vecto control Because improve accuracy speed characters. The result show the better speed and torque characters. And effectiveness of Matlab/Simulink in simulations.

Study on Motor Characteristics due to Deviation of the Wheel Diameters with Parallel Operation

  • It is desirable and advantageous to feed parallel propulsion with induction motors by a single voltage source inverter. However, effects of deviation of the wheel diameters on motor current, rotor speed and torque should be also considered for parallel operation. In order to understand the behavior and characteristics, a simple simulation model is developed by using a commercial Matlab Simulink. From the results, it is clear to manage the diameter deviation of the wheels which are connected to traction motors.

  • This paper describes a re-adhesion control method for the Korean High-Speed Train (KHST) with parallel induction motor drive. To keep a traction efficiency and to improve vehicle maintenance, the adhesion characteristics between wheel and rail are analyzed. Also the re-adhesion controller is designed as the subsystem of induction motor vector control. In order to verify performance of the proposed control techniques, the simulation is executed by train model and a downscaled re-adhesion control simulator is utilized. Both simulation and running test results show that good re-adhesion characteristics are obtained.

  • This paper is described about the test equipment of fraction motor for electric train. This test equipment was able to perform the performance test of traction motor which was operated in Korea. We explain performance and function of test equipment. In order to check the performance of test equipment, we conducted the performance test with 200 kW and 1100 kW traction motor.

  • The aging of the insulation reduces the electrical and mechanical strength of the insulation. At same point, a voltage surge or mechanical shock from a traction motor start will fracture or break down the insulation. To achieve the expected life usually requires extensive laboratory evaluation of the insulation systems and the use of accelerated aging tests. There are several nondestructive test available for checking. the condition of motor insulation, the probable extent of aging, and the rate of which aging is taking place. So the insulation characteristics of stator coil were each analyzed by measurement of dielectric loss($tan{\delta}$), capacitance and partial discharge. The method of diagnosis is able to analyze the aging condition and predict the life of the traction motor.

  • This paper presents the design of in-wheel type Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) which can be used as both traction motor and power pickup device in a wireless charging system of electric vehicles. The SRM acts as a traction drive in driving mode and a power receiver in charging mode to avoid any additional weights. Double stator axial field SRM is used due to its structure that can be mounted inside the wheel. The charging circuit is integrated with the asymmetric converter and phase windings of SRM, reducing the cost and size of the system. Magnetic resonance is implemented to increase the efficiency. Simulations done in Maxwell and Simplorer verify the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • An AC traction motor was developed, of which the rotor core has an unique structure, made of multi-layered silicon steel plates which were shrink-fitted to a shart. the equivalenet material properties were estimated with a newly proposed efficient method, based on the correlation between finite element analysis results and modal testing. A general rotordynamic analysis for the rotor with the equivalent material properties was carried out to evaluate the structural integrity of the virtually built-up motor.
