This paper is concerned with the trajectory tracking and vibration suppression of a single-link flexible arm by using piezoelectric materials. The dynamics of a single flexible arm with PZT patches as sensor and actuator is derived using extended Hamilton's principle. Resulting equations show that the coupled beam dynamics including beam vibration and its rigid in-plane rotation takes place in two different time scales. By using singular perturbation theory, the system dynamics is divided into two subsystems. Then, a composite control scheme is elaborated that makes the orientation of the arm track a desired trajectory while suppressing its vibration. The proposed controller has two parts: one is a tracking controller designed for the slow (rigid) subsystem, and the other one is a stabilizing controller for the fast (flexible) subsystem. The outputs considered for the system are angular position of the hub and voltage of the sensor mounted on the structure. To avoid requiring further measurements of beam vibration and also angular velocity of the hub for the fast and slow control laws, respectively, two sliding mode observers for estimating the unknown states are also designed.

The GK immersed tunnel as a part of Busan-Geoje Fixed Link Project, is the first attempt in Korea. In spite of existing of many difficulties in construction like the absent of construction cases in Korea, the connection work under approximately 50 m below sea level and weak ground condition, etc., now eight caissons were installed successfully on the accurate position and we are going to install upto the twelfth caisson in this year. The purpose of this paper is to introduce design and construction conditions of the GK immersed tunnel to advise the tunnel designers who will handle the similar project.

For the satisfying performance of a oil lubricator, design of a oil controller for the system which meets the required specifications and its supporting hardware that keep their functioning is important. Among the hardware of a control system, oil system are most vulnerable to malfunction. Thus it is necessary to keep track of accurate and reliable oil readings for good fusion oil lubricator performance. In case of oil lubricator, data loss, ssr trigger error faults, they are detected by examining the data system output values and the major values of the system, and then the faults are recognized by the analysis of symptoms of faults. If necessary electronic-sensor values are synthesized according to the types of faults, and then they are used for the controller instead of the raw data. In this paper, a fast-32bit cpu microprocessor applied to the control of flexible link system with the sensor fault problems in the error modulo for exact positioning to show the applicability. It is shown that the fusion oil lubricator can provide a satisfactory loop performance even when the sensor faults occure.

MAI(Multi-Access Interference) and fast channel variation due to the fading environment are the major problems in the mobile CDMA communication systems. Recently, interest has been increasing in applying the Adaptive Linear MMSE Detector to MAI cancellation in the CDMA reverse link. In this paper, we propose a modified Adaptive Linear MMSE Detector structure which can be used in Long-duration code CDMA system in the presence of independent Rayleigh fading. We use independent multiple tap-weight vector structure to cope with the variation of spreading sequence pattern between neighbor symbols because of the Long-duration code. In this case, more exact channel parameter estimation is required. To solve this problem, we use coherent CDMA structure which can track the channel parameters like amplitude and phase by employing the low power pilot channel in the CDMA reverse link.
This paper proposes a real-time implementation of an optimal operation of a double stage grid connected wind power system incorporating an active power filter (APF). The system is used to supply the nonlinear loads with harmonics and reactive power compensation. On the generator side, a new adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control is proposed to track the maximum wind power point regardless of wind speed fluctuations. Whereas on the grid side, a modified predictive current control (PCC) algorithm is used to control the APF, and allow to ensure both compensating harmonic currents and injecting the generated power into the grid. Also a type 2 fuzzy logic controller is used to control the DC-link capacitor in order to improve the dynamic response of the APF, and to ensure a well-smoothed DC-Link capacitor voltage. The gained benefits from these proposed control algorithms are the main contribution in this work. The proposed control scheme is implemented on a small-scale wind energy conversion system (WECS) controlled by a dSPACE 1104 card. Experimental results show that the proposed T2FLC maintains the DC-Link capacitor voltage within the limit for injecting the power into the grid. In addition, the PCC of the APF guarantees a flexible settlement of real power exchanges from the WECS to the grid with a high power factor operation.
The mobile platform-manipulator discussed in this paper is a three link manipulator mounted on a mobile platform. This mobile manipulator is used for welding operation and it is able to operate in a narrow space. The task of the torch, which is mounted at the end effector of the manipulator, is to track along the seam line and the task of the mobile platform is to move the origin point of the manipulator in order to go away from the singularity of the manipulator’s configuration. In this paper, the path planning for the motion of two subsystems (i.e., the manipulator and the mobile platform) was presented by the decentralized control method. Two controllers for the mobile platform and the manipulator were designed, and the relationship between the independent controllers is its state information. The simulation results are also presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the control method.
This paper presents a cartesian space decentralized adaptive controller design for the end effector of the robot manipulator to track the given desired trajectory in the cartesian coordinate. By the cartesian based control scheme, the task related high level motion command is directly executed without solving the complex inverse kinematic equations. The controller does not require the complex manipulator dynamic model, and hence it is computationally very efficient. Each degree of freedom of the end effector on the cartesian space is controlled by a PID feedback controller and a velocity acceleration feed forward conpensation part. Simulation results for a two-link direct drive manipulator conform that the present cartesian based decentralized scheme is feasible.

In this paper, three-phase PWM AC to DC boost converter that operates with unity power factor and sinusodial input line currents is presented. The current control of this converter is based on the space vector PWM strategy with fixed switching frequency and the line currents track to reference currents within one sampling time interval. By using this control strategy low ripples in the outut current and the voltage as well as fast dynamic response are achieved with small dc link cpacitance employed.

In general, most incomplete communication link setup between satellite and ground station right after separation from launcher come from less accurate orbital vector ground station uses to track the satellite because only predicted orbital state vector is available during first few orbits. This paper describes the developed procedure for successful initial acquisition for KOMPSAT-2 using scanning functions ofK13 antenna system with predicted orbital information. Azimuth scan, raster scan, spiral scan functions were tested with KOMPSA Tl under intentionally degraded orbital information for antenna operation. Through tests, spiral scan function was decided to be best search scan among 3 scans. Developed procedure can assure the successful acquisition only if azimuth offset and time offset value are within +/-2deg and +/-30sec, respectively.
