Effects of proteinate complex zinc on growth performance, hepatic and splenic trace elements concentrations, antioxidative function and immune functions in weaned piglets

  • Objective: To assess the effects of proteinate complex zinc (PC-Zn) on growth performance, antioxidative function, trace element concentrations and immune function in weaned piglets. Methods: Three hundred newly weaned barrows ($Duroc{\times}Landrace{\times}Yorkshire$), 28 days of age, were randomly allotted to 3 dietary groups of 5 replicate pens per group for 4 weeks of feeding. Experimental diets were: i) zinc deficient diet (ZnD, 24 mg/kg Zn supplementation from $ZnSO_4$), ii) inorganic Zn diet supplemented with 120 mg/kg of Zn from Zn sulfate ($ZnSO_4$), and iii) organic Zn diet supplemented with 120 mg/kg of Zn from PC-Zn. The body weight of pigs were recorded at the beginning, at the middle and at the end of the experiment, and the amount of feed supplied each day was recorded. Five barrows from each dietary treatment group were selected to be anesthetized and euthanized at the end of the trial to determine the Zn, Cu, Fe, and Mn concentrations, the hepatic metallothionein content, the levels of methane dicarboxylic aldehyde (MDA), Mn, and Cu/Zn superoxide dismutase (SOD), and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) in the spleen, the levels of interleukin (IL)-2, IL-4, IL-10, interferon $(IFN)-{\gamma}$, $CD3^+$, $CD4^+$, and $CD8^+$ T lymphocyte. Results: The accumulation of Zn in the spleen, levels of SOD, GSH-Px, IL-4, IL-10, the proportions of $CD3^+$ and $CD4^+$ T lymphocyte, and the ratio of $CD4^+/CD8^+$ T lymphocyte were increased by organic Zn supplementation compared to ZnD, while the levels of MDA, $IFN-{\gamma}$, and proportion of $CD8^+$ T lymphocyte were lowered. Conclusion: These findings indicate that Zn can improve the antioxidant potential and immune functions of weaned piglets.

남한강 유역의 침수예상지역에 대한 홍수범람분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Watershed Analysis of the Expected Flood Inundation Area in South Han River)

  • 홍수 및 침수 등의 자연재해로부터 예방, 대비, 복구, 대응을 위한 기초자료로 홍수위험지도, 홍수피해지도, 재해정보지도, 침수흔적도 등 지도 제작에 있어서 홍수범람해석이 핵심적인 내용을 수반한다. 본 연구에서는 한강 살리기 사업 이후의 충주댐부터 팔당댐까지의 남한강 구간에 대하여 하도 특성 및 유역특성을 분석하고, 하천기본계획상 계획홍수위를 이용하여 홍수 시나리오를 선정하였다. 하천의 흐름특성을 고려하여 HEC-RAS를 이용한 1차원 부등류 해석, FLUMEN을 이용하여 상습수해지역인 여주, 양평, 충주지구에 대해 2차원 부정류 해석을 실시함으로써 홍수범람해석을 하였다. 남한강 구간에 대해 각 지천별로 100년, 200년, 500년 빈도해석을 하였으며, 침수심 0.5m에 해당되는 100년 빈도는 2,379.8ha, 200년 빈도는 3,155.2ha, 500년 빈도는 3,995.3ha의 홍수피해면적이 산정되었다. 침수흔적도와 비교분석함으로써 하천정비기본계획, 토지이용계획, 홍수방어대책, 치수대책 등의 수립 및 신속한 호우피해 예상지역의 정보 취득으로 대피정보 제공을 위한 재해정보지도 구축의 중요한 의사결정 자료가 될 것으로 사료된다.

  • The measurement of the storage and loss moduli (G' and G" respectively) of materials as functions of frequency is now commonplace and is of wide utility. Yet il is not easy to trace the history of such measurements. and so this article discusses the genesis of this important experimental technique. We find that the technique grew out of a parallel technique for dielectric measurements (ca. 1900) and was developed in the mid-1930s by Philippoff and others. Important breakthroughs due to digital circuitry have occurred only in the last 20 years or so.r so.

  • In this paper, we study two operator-valued inequalities for quantum Wigner-Yanase-Dyson skew information related to module operators. These are extended results of the trace inequalities for Wigner-Yanase-Dyson skew information. Moreover, we study a sufficient condition to prove an uncertainty relation for operator-valued generalized quantum Wigner-Yanase-Dyson skew information related to module operators and a pair of functions (f, g). Also, we obtain several previous results of scalar-valued cases as a consequence of our main result.

배기가스를 포함하는 수학적 엔진모델의 컴퓨터 해석 (Computer analysis of mathematical engine model including emissions)

  • In this paper the structure of an engine and its interaction are investigated by a mathematical model for the performance evaluation. The total system is composed of air-fuel inlet element, intake manifold, combustion, engine dynamics and emission. Their control functions are schematically evaluated. Because of the model constructure with general engine functions and computer simulation of the chosen engine, physical characteristics of the corresponding engine and the engine data of normal operation states are used. According to the study, it is possible to predict the mixture rate by the difference in the mass of fuel and air flowing into cylinder and to evaluate and trace dynamic characteristic of operation state under various operating conditions. The model characteristic under the transient operating condition to evaluate operating of actual engine through the result of simulation.

Code-Switching of English Learners in the TEE Program

  • Research on strategic Code-Switching (CS) of second language learners in teaching English in English (TEE) program provides an elaborate framework for analyzing how learners manage to express themselves in spite of their limited knowledge of the target language. This research presupposes that L2 learners' CS presents innovative solutions for communicative strategy, and that CS used as communicative strategy can promote L2 learners' language acquisition. The major questions of current research involve examining the significant patterns of different functions of CS in L2 learners' interaction and investigating L2 learners' CS styles according to the different functions of CS. The implication of CS utility is regarded as a teaching technique in the TEE program. Recorded transcript is analyzed to trace the same pattern and the categorization of CS as well as to recognize the functions of CS and their ratio. Hence, this leads to the conclusion that learners' negotiation between code selection and communication intention occurs in patterns. The learners' CS tends to be predictable, reproductive, and systematic, as one of the language acquisition phases. Therefore, the attention to the CS in the TEE program should be redirected in communication substantiality toward the principles of pragmatics. As an additional advantage of the CS analysis, this research elaborates on a conceptual acceptance of CS as a set of learners' strategies in the TEE program.

플래시 SSD의 내구성을 검증하기 위한 FTL 오프라인 알고리즘 (An Offline FTL Algorithm to Verify the Endurance of Flash SSD)

  • SSD (Solid-State Drives)는 고성능, 저전력, 내구성과 경량 등의 특징을 가지고 있어 빠른 속도로 하드 디스크를 대체하고 있다. SSD는 하드디스크와 같은 블록 저장장치로 에뮬레이트하는 계층인 FTL(Flash Translation Layer) 을 가지고 있다. 가비지 컬렉션(Garbage Collection)은 FTL의 주요한 기능으로서 SSD의 수명과 성능에 큰 영향을 끼친다. 그러나 아직까지 새로운 알고리즘을 검증하기 위한 사실상의 표준이 없는 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 트레이스 기반의 오프라인 최적 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 언제나 최소 횟수의 지우기 연산을 보장한다. 추가적으로 본 논문에서는 TPC 트레이스를 사용하여 제안한 알고리즘의 유효성에 대해 검증하였다.

  • 드론 기술의 발전으로 감시, 재난사고 예방 및 구호 등 공공임무 수행에도 지능화된 드론 활용이 급속히 늘어날 것으로 본다. 드론이 스마트 안전도시 플랫폼에 구축에 사용되기 위해서는 목표물 탐지 및 추적기술, 드론비행 시에 비행 조정 및 장애물 회피기능, 착륙지점 탐지 및 제어 기능 등의 주요 기술 구현이 필요하다. 드론 시스템 은 기술적 파급효과가 크고 신기술 분야의 산업화를 촉진한다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 드론 개발을 위하여 객체지향 분석/설계 방법을 이용한 요구사항 분석 및 플로우차트, 화면 설계 등을 보여여줌으로 효과적인 드론 시스템의 소프트웨어 분석 및 설계 방법을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 드론과 무인항공기에 탑재되는 비행제어시스템은 설계단계에서부터 철저한 검증이 필수적이며, 이러한 검증은 비행제어 통합시험환경을 통해 이루어진다. 일반적으로 비행제어컴퓨터의 내부 상태를 실시간으로 모니터링하기 위해서는 별도의 디버거를 이용한다. 실시간 메모리 참조 및 Trace가 가능한 Emulator는 비교적 고가이고, JTAG Emulator은 실시간 동작이 불가능 하거나 현재의 고속 프로세서의 처리속도를 따라잡을 수 없는 한계가 있다. 본 논문에서는 NUTTX 기반 드론 비행조종컴퓨터 프로세서의 내부 모니터링 소프트웨어를 개발한 결과를 기술하였으며, 기능시험을 통해 그 기능이 정상적으로 동작되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구 결과는 상용 Debugger와 비교하여 제공되는 기능은 제한적이지만, 예산이 제한적인 상황에서 본 시스템을 활용하여 비행제어시스템 검증에 충분히 사용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

기능성 미량원소 Selenium 화합물에 대한 고찰 (Review on the Selenuium, an Essential Trace Mineral)

  • The trace mineral, selenium (Se), is an essential nutrient of fundamental importance to human health. It is also very toxic and can cause Se poisoning (selenosis) in human and animals when its intake exceeds a suitable amount. Se functions within mammalian systems primarily in the form of solenoprotein. About 35 selenoproteins have been identified, though many have not yet been fully elucidated. Selenoproteins contain Se as selenocyseine (Sec) and perform variety of structural and enzymic roles; the enzymic roles are best-known as the antioxidants for hydrogen peroxides and lipid peroxides, and the catalysts for production of activity thyroid hormone. Glutathione peroxidases ($\textrm{GP}_X$) among the selenoproteins prevent the generation of free radicals and decrease the risk of oxidative damage to tissues, as does thioredoxin reductase (TR). TR also provides reducing power for several biochemical processes. Selenoproteins P and W are involved with oxidant defense in plasma and muscle, respectively, A selenoprotein is also required for sperm motility and may reduce the risk of miscarriage. Some epidemiological studies have revealed an inverse correlation between Se status and cardiovascular disease, and there is considerable evidence 1mm population com-parison data and animal studies that Se is anticarcinogenic. It is also suggested that Se should be needed for the proper functioning of the immune system, and appear to be a key nutrient in counteracting the development of virulence and inhibiting HIV progression to AIDS. As research continues, the role of selenium in the etiology of chronic diseases like appropriate medical nutrition therapy can be delivered and its effectiveness assessed. Se status in individuals is affected by diet and the availability of the Se. The Se content of plants is affected by the content and availability of the element in the soil in which they are grown, and so greatly varies from country to country, while the Se composition of meat reflects the feeding patterns of livestock. This paper provides an overview on Se as an essential trace mineral for human.
