소형 어류 플랑크톤 채집용 FMT Net 의 운용 특성 (Handling Charactristics of FMT Net for the Larval Fish and Plankton)

  • The experiments were conducted to fine out the handling characteristics of the FMT(Frame Mideater Trawl) in the southern waters of Korea using a trawler "DONGBAEK" belongs to Yosu National University. The realtionship between the net depth D(m) and the warp length L(m) at the towing speeds of 2.5k't and 3.5k't werw as follows ; D(m) = 0.30L - 1.3(2.5k't), D(m) = 0.16L - 1.5(3.5k't). Therefore, the net depth was 3.0m deeper when the warp length was 10m longer at the towing speed of 2.5k't and was 1.6m deeper for 10m longer at the speed of 3.5k't, respectively. The sinking speed of FMT was 6.5m/min when the warp releasing speed was 24m/min at the towing speed of 2.5k't and was 3.8m/min for 25m/min at the towing speed of 3.5k't, respectively. The rising speed of FMT was 6.9m/min when the warp rewinding speed was 28m/min at the towing speed of 2.5k't and was 5.3m/min for 25m/min at the towing speed of 3.5k't, respectively. The mean elapsed time getting to the stable towing condition was 104sec at the towing speed of 2.5k't and was 105sec at the towing speed of 3.5k't, respectively, and there was no time difference for the towing speed variation. During the towing, the net depth was comparatively stable on the condition of no change for the warp length and the towing speed.

초고속선 실험을 위한 신형식 예인전차의 현가장치 설계시안 (Design Idea of Suspension for Traction Wheel of Novel High Speed Towing Carriage)

  • In the conventional towing tank, the ordinary towing carriage has a speed barrier which caused not only by the limitation of the length of towing tank but also the limitation of acceleration. Therefore the length of the towing tank should be decided carefully from the planning stage of the towing tank construction. Consequently the acceleration of the towing carriage should be taken less than 0.06g practically to avoid the slip of the wheel on rail. Due to the increasing demand of the high speed experiments on the development of special novel ship, the requirement of the high speed towing carriage is continuously increased recently. When the minimum measuring time of the towing experiment is prescribed as five seconds, the carriage should be accelerated with higher than 0.12 g to get the speed of 18 m/sec even in the towing tank having a length of 400m in length approximately. This means that the requirement of acceleration is bigger than twice of the ordinary practices of carriage acceleration. In such a condition the exerted total power of motor could not converted to traction force for the acceleration of the carriage without slip. To over come these difficulties a pair of horizontal traction wheels are reinforced to each of the ordinary vertical carrier wheel and appropriate suspension system has been devised for the towing tank of super high speed operation. It is believed that the design of novel suspension system adaptable for the high speed acceleration of towing carriage will play a important role as a reference for the remodeling of the towing tank for high speed experiment.

트롤선 유효마력과 어구의 적정 규모에 대한 연구 (A study on towing power of trawlers and a proper scale of trawl gears)

  • Trawl fishing is a fishing method in which a large, motorized trawler tows a bag-shaped net to catch fish living at the bottom or middle layers. For a trawl gear, it is of utmost importance to select the gear size and towing speed suitable for the effective horsepower (EHP) of the trawler in the design stage. In general, the power required to move an object is proportional to the product of the object speed and resistance; therefore, there are various choices for the gear resistance and towing speed given the effective horsepower of the trawler. However, there have been few studies on the gear design of an appropriate scale for the towing speed given the effective horsepower of the trawler. In this study, the resistance and shape of three types of midwater trawl gears were analyzed using SimuTrawl, a computer simulation tool. In addition, the relationship between the propulsion force and speed of the ship was clarified when the size and effective horsepower of the trawler were determined. Finally, we suggested the relationship between the towing speed and the resistance of the gear when the trawler towed the net was investigated, and a specific method of selecting the gear size according to the towing speed.

  • With increasing demands of high speed transportation, recently a lot of high speed marine vehicles, such as SWATH, semi-planing craft, planing craft, hydrofoil craft, SES and so on, have been paid attention especially in high speed region over the Froude number 0.5. The resistance characteristics of the vehicles should be experimentally evaluated in the towing tank. At the Seoul National University, a light-weight cantilever type towing carriage was devised and installed in the towing tank. Wireless measurement devices were also provided for appropriate data acquisition during high-speed towing tests. With the new carriage system, a series of model tests were performed to investigate the hydrodynamic characteristics of a stepped planning hull in the towing tank and the resistance performances of the hull are introduced in this report.

  • A light-weight cantilever type towing carriage was devised and installed in the towing tank at Seoul National University. Wireless measurement devices were also provided for appropriate data acquisition during high-speed towing tests. With the new carriage system, a series of model tests were performed to investigate the hydrodynamic characteristics of the racing boat in the towing tank and the resistance test results had sufficient accuracy so that they could be used in the development of a high speed planning hull.

  • The resistance test of a high speed craft such as planing ship is performed with a high speed towing carriage instead of ordinary towing carriage because of the speed limitation. In the resistance test using high speed towing carriage, the model ship is fixed to the carriage to restrain the running attitude for enough measuring time. Such method is called fixed model test method. In the fixed model test method, to get the appropriate running attitude, the model test is iteratively repeated until the trim moment and lift force are close to zero. In this research, trim free model test method is investigated to reduce the number of iteration. And, the limitation of towing speed range in the trim free model test method is investigated.

  • In this study, the configuration and tension of a towing cable for side-scan sonar are predicted in an ambient flow and at an unsteady towing condition. The governing equation of three-dimensional dynamic analysis for a flexible cable is solved using a finite difference method. We successfully predict the configuration and tension of a side-scan sonar and designed the towing system. It is found in static analyses that the side-scan sonar must be towed to keep a its stable depth at a reasonable speed. The study also reveals in the transient analyses that the dominant component affecting the top tension is the tangential drag force for the larger towing speed than the critical speed, and the self weight of a towed instrument for the smaller towing speed than. It should be maneuvered for a towing vessel with good consideration for the impact effect in a cable due to tension peak when a towing speed is suddenly increase. The developed program can be applicable for three-dimensional dynamic analysis of a towing system for various marine survey instruments.

  • 본 연구에서는 해양탐사장비를 예인하는 예인케이블에 관한 3차원 동적해석을 수행하였다. 해양케이블에 관한 지배방정식 중에서 굽힘강성 성분도 포함되는 보다 일반적인 지배방정식을 사용하였으며, 지배방정식은 3차원 비선형, 연성방정식이다. 예인선박의 예인속도와 측면주사음탐기의 중량에 따라서 예인단에서 발생하는 장력을 추정하였으며, 임의의 시간에 대한 케이블의 전체형상을 추정하였다. 정적해석결과를 통하여 특정한 수심에서 해양탐사장비를 예인할 때 예인속도를 잘못 조절한다면 관측장비가 해저면 바닥에 닿아서 탐사장비를 손실할 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 다양한 예인속도에 따른 예인단에서 장력의 변화를 살펴보았는데, 이를 통하여 예인단 장력은 예인속도가 임계속도보다 클 때는 접선하중성분이 지배적이고 작을 때는 자중효과가 지배적으로 나타난다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 속도가 변하는 천이영역에서는 장력의 피크가 나타났으며 이것은 케이블에 충격력 효과로 작용할 수 있으므로 예인선박 운용에 이를 잘 고려해야 할 것이다. 본 연구결과는 다양한 해양탐사장비의 예인문제에 적용할 수 있을 것이다.

  • 서울대학교 공과대학이 보유하고 있는 선형시험수조의 모형선 예인 전차를 개인용 전산기에서 온라인으로 제어 할 수 있도록 속도제어 시스템을 개량한 바 있다. 이 시스템을 활용하여 전차의 속도의 정밀한 제어가 가능하게 되었다. 이를 활용하여 선형시험수조내에 존재하게 되는 잔류 및 정재파와 같은 현상으로 인하여 모형선의 대수속도가 전차의 예인을 위하여 설정한 속도와 미소한 차이를 가지게 되는 것으로 가상하여 전차의 운전속도를 조정하고 모형선을 예인하여 저항성능에 미치는 차이를 실험적으로 확인하고자 하였다.

가속성능이 우수한 외팔보형 고속예인전차의 설계 (On the Design of Cantilever Type High Speed Towing Carriage with Excellent Acceleration Performance)

  • Extraordinarily the establishment of towing tank has been initiated after the allocation of space at the basement floor of existing building through remodeling procedure. Therefore the asymmetric tank should be unavoidably determined by compromising with the allowable space and existing building structure. Consequently the shape of towing carriage ought to be selected as a cantilever type to match with the given environmental conditions. Finally the major role of the towing tank has been configured on the fundamental research work for the high speed marine vehicles. Due to the limited length of towing tank, it is appeared that the carriage should accelerated with 1.2m/sec2 which is equivalent to twice of the maximum acceleration in ordinary practices on design application of carriage. In such a condition the exerted total power of motor could not be converted to traction force of the carriage without slip for the acceleration. To overcome these difficulties the contact pressure of a horizontal traction wheel to rail has been reinforced by the elastic recovery force of springs on supporting rollers. It is believed that the design experience of the high speed towing carriage under unusual circumferential condition and acceleration barrier could be utilized not only on the design of high speed towing carriage but also on the improvement of existing facilities.
