Study on purchase behavior and satisfaction of Chinese tourists who buy Korean hair cosmetics in Myeong-dong - Targeting women at 20s and 40s -

  • In China, the phenomenon called 'Korean Wave' has boosted the interest in Korean pop culture, such as TV drama, music and films, and even in the general culture and society. As Korean singers, movie actors and talents become popular beyond acceptance of public culture, those who learn Korean, buy Korean products and visit Korea have emerged. Especially, most Chinese women have used Korean hair cosmetics and the interests in Korean hair cosmetics are increasing, since cosmetic companies entered China early due to Korean wave. Thus, the status of purchase of Korean hair cosmetics is growing day by day in China. In particular, since the environment is established to buy hair cosmetics easily in Myeong-dong which is one of the shopping tourism special districts, many Chinese tourists are crowded there. Based on such phenomenon, this study explored the differences in perceptions towards 'Korean Wave' among Chinese tourists who purchased Korean hair cosmetics in Myeong-dong, and analyzed the factors that largely determine the interest in Korean hair cosmetics and their purchase behavior. Therefore, this study is aimed at contributing to the development of hair cosmetics products and the market amid Korean Wave. As the research methods, 100 answered questionnaires were collected with target of Chinese tourists at 20s and 40s who purchased Korean hair cosmetics in Myeong-dong once 120 questionnaires were distributed. In-depth analysis was conducted and final research data were used. It was confirmed that Korean fever positively affected the Chinese tourists' purchase behavior and satisfaction of hair cosmetics, and the interests in Korean hair cosmetics at 20s were higher than at 40s. People at 20s had higher awareness, satisfaction and intention of repurchase of hair cosmetics compared rather than people at 40s. The research confirmed that Chinese tourists are very interested in Korean hair cosmetics as the pop music craze has led to the general Korean Wave, and differences in such perceptions have led to significant differences in the product purchase behavior.

Comparison of Design Preferences in the Hawaiian Shirt and Current Market

  • The Hawaiian shirt, also known as the Aloha shirt, is a short-sleeved, colorful shirt with traditional Polynesian designs (e.g., hibiscus, fish) originating in Hawai'i. The shirt was selected for study because it is a unique garment that originated in the Hawaiian Islands in the late $19^{th}$ and $20^{th}$ centuries and marketed as a tourist product but was eventually adopted as appropriate residential clothing by the $mid-20^{th}$ century, however with different aesthetic details. Today, it is assumed by Hawaiian Island residents that tourists demonstrate poor taste when selecting a Hawaiian shirt. The purposes of this study are to examine the validity of the assumption that tourist taste and resident taste in Hawaiian shirts are different and to investigate the current Hawaiian shirt market change. For this study, 555 questionnaires were obtained from tourists and residents, and 10 Hawaiian shirt retailers/wholesalers participated in in-depth interviews. The results indicated that differences do exist between tourists' and residents' preferences for print designs and colorway. The market change of Hawaiian shirts was also recognizable in that an increasing number of tourists select Hawaiian shirts similar to resident customers, as part of their routine lives rather than as holiday or vacation garments. Other differences in Hawaiian shirt shopping behavior included the findings that tourists consider fabrication less important than resident customers who consider fabrication more (i.e., cotton 100%). By using both quantitative and qualitative methods, this study contributes to the fashion design and marketing field as well as help manufacturers and retailers with their merchandise and distribution plans.

해외여행 동기가 쇼핑행동에 미치는 영향 -상품과 매장특성을 중심으로- (Effect of Overseas Tourists' Motivation on Shopping Behavior -Emphasis on Product and Store Characteristics-)

  • This study investigated how the travel motivation of Korean overseas tourists influenced shopping behavior. We first identified factors of the travel motivation and then categorized types and attributes of shopping products and shopping stores. We then examined the relationship between the travel motivation and shopping products and shopping channels. A questionnaire method was applied for this survey, while factor analysis and regression analysis were used to analyze data. The results are listed below. First, nature & leisure, rest, family, pleasure, hobby & fitness, and discovery were identified as 6 factors of travel motivation. Second, shopping products of overseas tourists were categorized into three types: fashion & luxury, daily goods, and memento. There were four attributes of products, namely, design, utility, economy, and prestige. Major types of shopping stores were souvenir shops, fashion channels and local markets; the shopping store attributes identified were location & salesperson, assortment & atmosphere, and display. Third, overseas tourists' motivation was shown to influence the selection of product types and attributes. Those who traveled for rest, family, pleasure, hobby & fitness orientation were inclined to purchase fashion & luxury goods, and daily goods; however, those who traveled for rest and hobby & fitness orientation also tended to buy memento. The effect of the travel motivation was shown to be different according to product attributes. Fourth, tourists' motivation was shown to affect store type selection and attributes. Those whose traveled for rest, family, pleasure, hobby & fitness preferred souvenir shops while those seeking nature & leisure and pleasure tended to visit fashion channels and local markets more often. Travelers seeking nature & leisure and discovery cared for all three store attributes while family oriented and pleasure seeking tourists considered shopping store location, salesperson and display attributes as important.

일본인 관광객의 의료관광상품 선호도 영향요인 분석 (Influencing Factors to Preference of Medical Tourism Products of Japanese Tourists)

  • Objectives : This study was supposed to investigate factors which influence to preference of medical tourism products of Japanese tourists in Seoul, Korea. Methods : Data were collected from 228 Japanese tourists who visited' Seoul Center for Culture & Tourism' in Myeong-dong, Seoul, Korea. We measured factors which influence to preference for medical tourism. The data were analyzed by T-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. Results : The major findings were as follows ; Japanese tourists preferred medical products in the order of skin care, oriental medicine treatment, health screening, and scaling & teeth whitening. They considered technical level of medical staff most importantly, followed by safety of medical products, communication during diagnosis and treatment, follow-up service, modernization of medical facilities and equipment, and the reasonable medical expenses. Japanese tourists' preferred medical institutions in the order of a university hospital, a specialty clinic, a special hospital, They said they intend to pay 50,000 to 150,000 yen for medical tourism. The preference to medical tourism products are that single women group in their twenties and thirties for skin care, married people group aged over thirties preferred oriental medicine treatment, and married men aged over forties and high income earners favored health screening. Conclusions : It should be considered carefully that the preference exists on some factors especially for Japanese tourist. Further research about preference on medical tourism products for tourists from the other countries is required appropriately to fulfill the needs.

도시공원의 운영 및 관리에 대한 지역주민과 관광객 간 인식 차이 연구 - 인천광역시 월미공원을 중심으로 - (Recognition Difference of Local Residents and Tourists to Urban Park Operation and Management - With a Special Reference to the Wolmi Park in Incheon -)

  • 본 연구는 외부 관광객이 많은 인천광역시 월미공원을 대상으로 지역주민과 외부 관광객 사이의 공원 운영과 관리에 대한 인식 차이를 조사 분석함으로써 공원 이용 활성화와 효과적인 운영관리 방안을 모색하기 위해 수행되었다. 자료 수집은 2009년 5월 1일부터 4일간 총 222명의 공원 방문객을 대상으로 현지설문조사를 통해 이루어졌다. 조사결과, 방문횟수 및 목적, 보완 시설물 등에서 지역주민과 외부 관광객 간 차이를 보였으며, 두 집단 모두 인근 관광지에 대한 인식이 공원 이용만족도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 인식함에 따라 공원 구역 내뿐만 아니라 주변지역의 운영 관리에도 만전을 기해야 할 것이다.

국제의료관광 서비스 품질이 지각된 가치에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (The Effects of International Medical Tourism Service Quality on Perceived Value)

  • 본 연구에서는 서비스 상품으로 미래 신 성장동력 산업인 의료관광산업의 육성과 개발이 시급한 실정이다. 현실은 관광과 의료가 융 복합 산업의 새로운 경제패러다임의 중추적 역할을 하는 산업으로 성장시키기 위한 실질적 의료관광 마케팅 전략수립의 기초적 근거를 제공하고자 연구의 목적을 두었다. 설문지는 한국의 방한한 의료관광자 중 상위 3개국(일본, 중국, 미국)을 대상으로 조사를 하였습니다. 수집된 자료를 근거하여 의료관광 목적시 각국의 의료 여행자 행동의 관계를 분석하였다 이에 대한 분석결과는 의료관광서비스품질(신뢰성, 유형성, 편리성)은 지각된 가치에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었다. 또한 이들 요인 중(신뢰성, 유형성, 반응성, 편리성)은 감정적 가치에 정의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

제주도의 농촌관광 이미지 유형별 선호 체험활동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the rural Tourism Image Types based Segmentation on Preference Activities : A case of Rural village in Jeju Province)

  • The role of rural towns as a leisure space has recently been increasing with changes in the consumption trends in domestic tourism. Based on the tourists visiting the town of Sunheul-ri, Jocheon-eup, a rural Village in Jeju Island, this study categorized the market according to the images formed by the tourists of rural towns, and analyzed the preferred mode of participation in rural field activities for each category. We analyzed the characteristic factors of the images of rural tourism formed by the tourists, extracted three factors for cluster analysis, and then formed three groups: "Group of Rural Experience Activity" "Group of Rural Environment and Service" and "Group of Rest in the Rural" After analyzing the preferred activity in each image-category group, we found no significant differences among the groups in ordinary activities such as viewing the scenery, experiencing and learning about the natural environment, and culinary experiences. However, there were significant differences among the groups regarding participation in experiential tour programs with the purpose of active tourism. The "Group of Rural Experience Activity" sought to actively participate in various activity programs, whereas the "Group of Rest in the Rural" comparatively had a weaker preference for such active programs. We thus learnt that tourists' preferred activities are different according to the types of images formed by the tourists visiting rural towns. Therefore, to strengthen the competitive advantage of the rural tourist destinations of Jeju Island, it is necessary to provide various activity programs that are appropriate for the rural regions of Jeju and to accord with the expectations associated with each market segment category by positioning the programs according to the characteristics of the images held by the tourists.

전주 한옥마을 관광객의 관광동기가 만족도와 재방문 의도에 미치는 영향 연구 (Research on the Effect of Tour Motivation on Satisfaction, and Revisiting Intention by Jeon-ju Hanok Village)

  • 본 연구는 전주 한옥마을 관광객의 관광동기가 만족도와 재방문 의도에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 전주 한옥마을 관광객을 대상으로 450부의 설문지를 배포하여 최종 426부를 실증분석에 이용하였다. 설문지는 2018년 7월 1일부터 7월 20일까지 실시하였고, 편의추출방법을 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 관광객의 관광동기는 고유성, 역사성, 교육성, 예술성, 그리고 향수성으로 요인화 되었다. 둘째, 고유성과 예술성 요인이 종속변수인 만족도와 재방문 의도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 관광객의 만족도는 재방문 의도에 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다. 따라서 한옥마을의 관광 건축 환경 위생 교통 음식 숙박 등 모든 면에 있어서 고유성과 예술성을 접목하는 노력이 필요하다 할 수 있다. 또한 전주 한옥마을은 다수의 관광객 유치를 위한 마케팅적 노력이 강구되어야 한다.

방한 중국인 관광객의 방문 결정요인에 관한 연구 -정치적, 경제적, 문화적 영향을 중심으로- (Study on Determinants of the number of Chinese Tourists Visiting Korea -Political, Economic and Cultural Factors as Variables of Interests-)

  • 관광 동기나 관광만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 주로 분석한 기존 연구들과 달리 본 연구는 방한 중국인 관광객 수에 영향을 미치는 정치적, 경제적, 문화적 요인을 분석하였으며 특히 정치적 요인을 관심변수로 살펴보았다. 실증분석 결과 중국의 정권, 양국 간 회의나 회담 횟수, 양국 정상 간 전화통화 횟수, 한중 FTA(경제적 요인이기도 함)의 발효 등 정치적 요인이 방한 중국인 관광객 수에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 경제와 관련된 정치적 우호성(FTA 발효)은 정치적 분야에서만 우호적인 분위기를 형성하는 요소들보다 더 가시적으로 방한 중국인 관광객에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 정치적 요인과 더불어 한중 FTA와 같은 경제적 요인, 그리고 한국화장품으로 대변되는 한류와 같은 문화적 요인도 방한 중국인 관광객 수에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

의료서비스 실패와 회복 후 만족이 신뢰와 행동의도에 미치는 영향 - 일본인 의료 관광객을 중심으로 - (A Study for the Effect of Medical Service Failure and Recovery on Medical Tourist Trust and Behavioral Intention -Focused on Japanese Medical Tourist-)

  • 본 연구는 의료 관광객의 불만을 야기시킬 수 있는 요소를 밝혀내고, 이를 근원적으로 보완할 수 있는 방법을 모색하기 위해 의료 서비스 실패 유형이 회복 수단과 어떠한 상관관계를 가지며 의료 관광객의 신뢰의 형성, 더 나아가 신뢰의 형성을 바탕으로 재이용, 추천, 긍정적 구전의도와 같은 행동의도에까지 어떠한 영향을 미치게 되는가를 규명하여 의료 관광객 관리의 중요성을 시사하며 의료 관광 활성화를 위한 효과적인 마케팅 전략을 수립하고자 하였다. 연구의 주요 분석 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 서비스 실패에 대한 서비스 회복은 회복 후 만족에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 회복 후 만족은 신뢰와 행동의도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 회복 후 만족에 의한 신뢰의 형성은 행동의도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 마지막으로, 서비스 회복과 회복 후 만족과의 관계에서 의료 서비스 실패의 조절효과를 분석하였고, 의료 서비스 실패 인지유형은 조절효과를 갖지 못하는 것으로 나타났다.
