  • This study is aimed to establish the development plannings for the sustainable tourism of Yongyoo Island and Mooeui Island, neighboring areas of Youngjong Island, for the conservation and environmentally friendly use of Korean coastal wetlands. The concepts of sustainable tourism is described. The current development status and its problems of Youngjong Island and its neighboring areas are analysed. The development plannings for sustainable tourism of Yongyoo Island and Mooeui Island are suggested as follows : (1) The small scale tourism development projects, which are able to represent region's own characteristics, instead of large scale ones, should be performed. (2) The participation of community people should be guaranteed at the beginning stage of the decision making processes for tourism development projects. Additionally, the profits of the development should be fairly distributed among community people. (3) The coastal wetlands should be conserved and their sewage disposal capacity should be protected by way of the minimization of reclamation. (4) The coastal wetlands should be developed into the tourist resorts utilizing migratory birds as tourism resources. In addition, the carrying capacity of the coastal wetlands, which is based on the current status of ecosystems and the Environmental Impact Assessment(EIA), should be calculated.

  • Recently, Owing to booming of leisure activities and national enforcement of 5-day workweek system, Korean government has been promoting rural tourism policy of which operating project's title is Green Rural Experience Village, Rural Traditional Theme Village, etc. In this study, ken investigation result on Green Rural Experience Village sites, an estimation model of returns by green-tourism activities was developed. The model was constructed through factor analysis and regression analysis method. Regression model developed can estimate green-tourism revenue by investment budget, homepage preengagement sales, homepage visitors, capacity of eating and drinking facilities, capacity of lodging facilities. The model developed was applied in sample villages. With these results, estimation revenue was recorded average 138.3% of survey revenue, and statistical significance was good(correlation coefficient $R^2$ = 0.8255, level of significance : 0.000), and the range of relative error was recorded largely from -7.1% to 158.6%, and average relative error was 38.3% and good. And, the model developed in this study have the critical point in aspects of insufficient data, but the results will be used in green-tourism policies and projects, and revenue estimation about each village in the present and future is limited, but in province or the whole country the application is good.

  • As the utilization of technology in the tourism field becomes familiar, it greatly impacts people's tourism activities. These changes could also affect the behavior of tourists during the pandemic. To investigate consumers' adaptation to the self-service technology (SST) environment during the coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, we adopted a model of absorptive capacity as the main framework for empirical research. To track the social effects of COVID-19, consumers' behavioral intentions for four different points in time are collected. The analysis was conducted using latent growth and structural equation modeling. We set the organizational and environmental characteristics as the first step of the model, with assimilation and trust as a middle step. Intention to use a kiosk is placed at the final step as an exploit. Findings indicate that organizational characteristics and environmental characteristics positively influenced assimilation and trust, except for environmental characteristics. Consumers' assimilation in SST encourages immediate intention to use a kiosk. Consumers' trust in kiosks positively impacts both immediate and continuance intention to use a kiosk during COVID-19.

  • Ever-growing recreation, tourism and ecotourism worldwide have become a significant factor of resource degradation in many protected areas. Managers of these areas are increasingly challenged to implement policies, strategies and actions that would protect the resource base while providing quality visitor experience. One major issue in managing protected area visitations is that of carrying capacity, or the question of "how much use is too much\ulcorner". Scientific studies of visitor impacts, often known as recreation ecology, has generated a knowledge base that provides valuable input to the visitor carrying capacity management process adopted by the U.S. National Park Service. This paper aims at (a) providing an overview of recreation ecology research and its application in managing visitor carrying capacity, and (b) examining the relevance of recreation ecology to East Asian protected areas with special reference to the visitor capacity issue.ity issue.

  • This study proposes a new model of tourism destination management based on the tourism management program using information and communication technology provided by LBS. The personalized tourist information service can enhance the satisfaction of tourists. Sustainability can be expanded through management based on the capacity of the tourism destination. Increased satisfaction leads to more diverse tourism activities. Various tourism activities increase the consumption expenditure, which satisfies the local tourism destination management purpose. The tourism destination management plan of the central and local governments is a comprehensive system in which detailed policy support plans are formulated from the perspective of the three requirements for sustainability-economic, socio-cultural, and environmental-and concerned parties are connected and resources are supported through detailed processes in which the sources of disparities in accessibility are identified and the roles are delegated at the national, community, and regional levels.

  • Tourism is often considered as one of the main industries to promote development and modernization in small South Pacific islands countries. In Fiji, this was recognized in the 1960s, and resulted in large-scale resort based tourism development in coastal areas. While tourism has obvious advantages to the economy, a lot of problems such as exclusive foreign control of the main hotels and resorts, considerable overseas leakage of earnings, the limited participation by indigenous resource owners, and localized environmental damages to reefs and mangroves are emerging. For sustainable tourism development, it is needed to set growth objectives and targets for tourism in terms of benefits to Fiji, and to concentrate support on 'Rural Tourism' such as community-based tourism that have lower leakage and put more into local economies. Through case study in this paper, to develop rural tourism at the local level, several recommendations are as follows: 1) to introduce various rural tourism programs such as experiencing Fiji's traditional culture, participating in activities, picking fruits and harvesting agro-products, 2) to enhance aggressive promotion and marketing strategies, 3) to build the capacity of local communities for improving the quality of tourism services, and 4) to provide the infrastructure for tourism business such as road accessing, water supply and disaster prevention.

And it is evolving to the stage of collecting real-time information or analyzing correlations and predicting the future. In the tourism industry, big data can be used to identify the size and shape of the tourism market, and by building and utilizing a large-capacity database, it is possible to establish an efficient marketing strategy and provide customized tourism services for tourists. This paper has begun with anticipation of the effects that would occur when big data is actively used in the tourism field. Because the method of use must have applicability and practicality, the spatial scope will be limited to Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do, and research will be conducted. In this paper, to improve the quality of tourism courses by collecting and analyzing the number of mention data and sentiment index data on social media, which reflect the tourist's interest, preference and satisfaction. Therefore, it is used as basic data necessary for the development of new local tourism courses in the future. In addition, the development of tourism courses will be able to promote tourism growth and also revitalizing the local economy.

  • Numerous city problems have arisen in some tourist cities as tourists enter the city beyond the limits of its capacity. As an alternative to this problem, the discussion of smart tourism cities has led many cities to pursue urban planning with the aim of transforming them into smart tourism cities. Therefore, the present study attempted to discuss the city self-reliance that smart tourism cities need to solve a number of problems and grow as a happy city, both residents and tourists, who are the ultimate goal in the long-term goals. More specifically, this study aims to provide basic data for the economic growth of cities that are most fundamental in city's self-reliance by assessing the economic value of smart tourism. To achieve this research purpose, the economic value of smart tourism was estimated using the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM), and the results showed that each person is willing to pay 220,709 won. This is about 10,000 won higher than the 211,163 won announced by the National Travel Survey in 2017, which is estimated to be of higher economic value when recognized as smart tourism. On the basis of these results, this study provided basic policy data in promoting smart tourism cities as well as expanding understanding of smart tourism.
