The rapid growth and dissemination of touch-based mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet PCs, gives numerous benefits to people using a variety of multimedia contents. Due to its portability, it enables users to watch a soccer game, search video from YouTube, and sometimes tag on contents on the road. However, the limited screen size of mobile devices and touch-based character input methods based on this, are still major problems of searching and tagging multimedia contents. In this paper, we propose WalkieTagging, which provides a much more intuitive way than that of previous one. Just like any other previous video tagging services, WalkieTagging, as a voice-based annotation service, supports inserting detailed annotation data including start time, duration, tags, with little effort of users. To evaluate our methods, we developed the Android-based WalkieTagging application and performed user study via a two-week. Through our experiments by a total of 46 people, we observed that experiment participator think our system is more convenient and useful than that of touch-based one. Consequently, we found out that voice-based annotation methods can provide users with much convenience and satisfaction than that of touch-based methods in the mobile environments.
In order to design a touch interface for the elderly, human performance of input tasks on the touch screen was investigated by the laboratory experiment. Input times and input errors were measured in the experimental conditions that were changed according to age, key size, interkey space and input tool(finger or stylus pen). In the most of all experimental conditions, the task performance of the elderly was lower than that of the young. However, there were significantly different performance patterns between both groups. As the difficulty of task was getting higher, the task performance of the elderly was sharply decreased; pressing small key button by finger sharply increased input time and error rate, compared to that of the young. Therefore, the square key size suitable to the elderly may be over $8.0{\times}8.0mm$. While the interkey space did not influence to the input task performance of the young, the task performance of the elderly was influenced. The elderly showed big difference of task performance according to input tool. However, the young were less influenced by input tool.

Macro(automatic hunting) of mobile game is a program that touch the screen by defined rules like a game bot in PC online games, and it is used by make various ways like android application or windows application program. This gives honest users deprivation and make to lose their interest. Finally they would leave the game and gradually game life would be shorten. Although many studies to prevent these problems in PC online game are conducted, applying mobile game to PC's way is difficult because mobile games are limited to use the network and device performance is different with PC. In this paper, we propose a framework for macro detection by using the touch event information. A touch event on the mobile game is a necessary control command to the game. Because macro touches the screen with the same pattern, there is a difference between normal user's behavior and macro's operation. In mobile games that casual games are mostly, Touch event is the best difference that identify normal user against macro for a short period of time. As a result of detecting macros used in real mobile game by using the proposed framework it showed 100% accuracy and 0% false positive rate.

This paper presents a study to implement a touch screen capable of real-time response processing in a low-end embedded system. This was done by introducing an algorithm using an interpolation method to represent real-time response characteristics when a touch input is performed. In this experiment, we applied a linear interpolation algorithm that estimates random data by deriving a first-order polynomial from 2-point data. We also applied a Lagrange interpolation algorithm that estimates random data by deriving a quadratic polynomial from 3-point data. As a result of the experiment, it was found that the Lagrange interpolation method was more complicated than the linear interpolation method, and the processing speed was slow, so the text was not smooth. When using the linear interpolation method, it was confirmed that the speed displayed on a screen is 2.4 times faster than when using the Lagrange interpolation method. For real-time response characteristics, it was confirmed that smaller size of the executable file of the algorithm is more advantageous than the superiority of the algorithm itself. In conclusion, in order to secure real-time response characteristics in a low-end embedded system, it was confirmed that a relatively simple linear interpolation algorithm performs touch operations with better real-time response characteristics than the Lagrange interpolation method.
Space planning is one of the popular applications of VR technology including interior design, architecture design, and factory layout. In order to provide easier methods to accommodate physical objects into virtual space planning task, we suggest applying mixed reality (MR) interface. We describe our hardware and software of our MR system designed according to requirements of the application domain. In brief, our system hardware consists of a video see-through display with a touch screen interface, mounted on a mobile platform, and we use screen space 3D manipulations to arrange virtual objects within the MR scene. Investigating the interface with our prototype implementation, we are convinced that our system will help users to design spaces in more easy and effective way.

Thin transparent conductive oxides (TCOs) having a thickness lower than 30 nm have been widely usedin touch screen panels. However the resistivity of the TCO films significantly increases as the thickness decreases, due to the poor crystallinity at very thin thickness of TCO films. In this study, we have investigated the effect of electron beam irradiation during the sputtering on the electrical properties and transmittance of 30 nm-thick ITO films, which have a different SnO2 atomic percent, prepared by magnetron sputtering at room temperature. Fig. 1 shows the variation of resistivity of ITO films with a different SnO2 atomic percent for both the normal ITO films and electron beam irradiated ITO films. As shows in Fig. 1, the electron beam irradiation to the ITO (SnO2 weight percent 10%) films during the sputtering resulted in a significantly decreased in resistivity from $7.4{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}-cm$ to $1.5{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}-cm$ and it also increased in transmittance from 84% to 88% at a wavelength of 550 nm. These results can be attributed to energy transfer from electron to ad-atoms of ITO films during the electron beam irradiated sputtering, which can enhance the crystallinity of 30 nm-thick ITO films. It is strongly indicate that electron beam irradiation can greatly improve the electrical properties and transmittance of very thin ITO films for touch screen panels, flexible displays and solar cells.

Recently, switchboards for MV/LV distribution customers have been united and digitalized rapidly. This paper suggestes the effective information visualization method for the data mesured from cubicle switchboard for MV/LV distribution customers. We developed the algorithm that analyzes a large number of mesured data and displays them to users overall, such as fire index, power condition index, switchboard safety index, and power diminution index. Using a touch screen made users to operate it easily. User interface was also strengthened by taking graph visualization. We guess the information visualiztion method suggested in this paper shows the new direction that heavy electrical equipments including switchboards are going to develop in the future.

TOF technique is one of the skills that can obtain the object's 3D depth information. But depth image has low resolution and fingertip occupy very small region, so, it is difficult to find the precise fingertip's 3D information by only using depth image from TOF camera. In this paper, we estimate fingertip's 3D location using Arm Model and reliable hand's 3D location information that is modified by hexahedron as hand model. Using proposed method we can obtain more precise fingertip's 3D information than using only depth image.
Objective: The aim of this study is to propose the contactless gesture-based interface on smart mobile devices for especially rhythm action games. Background: Most existing approaches about interactions of smart mobile games are tab on the touch screen. However that way is such undesirable for someone or for sometimes, because of the disabled person, or the inconvenience that users need to touch/tab specific devices. Moreover more importantly, new interaction can derive new possibilities from stranded game genre. Method: In this paper, I present a smart mobile game with contactless gesture-based interaction and the interfaces using computer vision technology. Discovering the gestures which are easy to recognize and research of interaction system that fits to game on smart mobile device are conducted as previous studies. A combination between augmented reality technique and contactless gesture interaction is also tried. Results: The rhythm game allows a user to interact with smart mobile devices using hand gestures, without touching or tabbing the screen. Moreover users can feel fun in the game as other games. Conclusion: Evaluation results show that users make low failure numbers, and the game is able to recognize gestures with quite high precision in real time. Therefore the contactless gesture-based interaction has potentials to smart mobile game. Application: The results are applied to the commercial game application.
