방진고무사출성형의 적정설계 (Optimum Design of Rubber Injection Molding Process for the Preparation of Anti-vibration Rubber)

  • K사의 방진고무 사출성형에 있어서 애로사항인 토크로드부시(torque rod bush)의 캐비티 가장자리(edge) 구간에서의 에어트랩(air-trap) 발생 및 다이내믹 댐퍼(dynamic damper)에 있어서 사출시 미성형(short shot) 발생 등의 문제점을 해결하기 위하여, 상용 CAE 프로그램인 MOLDFLOW(Ver. 5.2)를 이용한 전산모사를 수행하여 적정금형설계를 도출하고 적정작업조건을 구축하였다. 그 결과 방진고무 중에서 토크로드부시의 사출성형에서의 에어트랩 발생 등의 공정문제를 최적 캐비티 가장자리 경사각 및 게이트 수를 조절함으로써 캐비티 가장자리에서의 유동선단(flow-front)의 유동정체를 방지하고 유동을 원활하게 하여 해결하였다. 한편 다이내믹 댐퍼의 사출시 충전(filling) 단계에서의 캐비티 비충전으로 인한 미성형 불량은 에어벤트(air-vent) 구를 에어트랩 발생 빈도가 매우 높은 유동선단 상향류와 하향류의 두 흐름이 만나는 지점에 설치함으로써 미성형 불량을 해결하였다. 또한 게이트 위치를 댐퍼 상단에서 중단으로 변경하거나 게이트 수를 증가시킨 경우에 미성형 불량이 K사의 경우보다 개선되었다.

  • KIA는 호평의 Bongo-9을 기본 model로 하여 도시형 다목적 leisure car인 Bongo-town을 개 발하게 되었다. TX엔진은 Bongo-town 탑재용으로 기존 1.3l TC 엔진을 volume-up 하여 전 회전 영역에서 괄목할 성능향상을 보였으며 특히 탑재차량의 특성을 고려하여 저속영역 torque를 강조하였고 부품호환성 및 생산 설비의 공용화에도 주력했다. 주요 개발내용은, 1) Cooling passage 개선 및 full siamese화 2) Piston과 connecting rod의 신설계 3) Piston 조합의 semi floating화 4) Cam shaft profile 선정 및 valve timing 변경 5) Distributor 최적진각특성 결정 6) Carburetor 개발 7) Torque limited fan and fan drive 채용 등이다. 상기내용중 중요한 몇가지를 기술하고자 한다.

엔진 파이어링동안 일정 축 각속도에서 비고정식 피스톤-핀과 연결봉-소단부 부싱 및 피스톤-핀 보스의 접촉면 마모해석 (Wear Analysis at the Interface of Connecting-Rod Small-End Bushing and Piston-Pin Boss with a Floating Piston-Pin at Constant Angular Velocity during Engine Firing)

  • In recently designed diesel engines, the running conditions for piston-pin bearings have become severe because of the higher combustion pressure and increased temperature. Moreover, the metal removal from the bushing material has strongly reduced the ability of the antifriction material to accept asperity contacts. Therefore, it is necessary to find ways of reducing wear scar on the connecting-rod small-end bushing and piston-pin boss bearing related to the higher combustion pressure on the power cell of an engine. In this work, the position and level of material removal from the surfaces of the bushing and bearing under such severe operating conditions - for example, maximum power and torque conditions of a passenger car diesel engine - are estimated for several combinations of surface roughness. First, piston-pin rotating motion is investigated by calculating the friction coefficient at piston-pin bearings, the oil film thickness, and the frictional torques induced by hydrodynamic shear stress. Subsequently, the wear scarring on the surfaces of a connecting-rod small-end bushing and two piston-pin boss bearings related to piston-pin rotational motion is numerically calculated under the maximum power and torque operating conditions. This work is helpful to determine the reasonable surface roughness of the bushing and bearing for reducing wear volume occurring at the interface between a bearing and a shaft.

터보펌프 볼 베어링의 마찰 토크 평가 (Evaluation of Friction Torque for a Turbopump Ball Bearing)

  • Rolling contact ball bearings are utilized almost exclusively for liquid propellant rocket engine turbopump. Turbopump ball bearings are required to endure high speed and high load for a poor lubricated condition in cryogenic environment. To evaluate bearing heat generation performance, friction torque is investigated as a function of rotation speed, bearing load and cooling flow rate through an experimental study using water coolants. Radial and axial loads are simultaneously applied to the test bearing by gas pressurized cylinder rod. Endurance performance of bearing has been also verified under the bearing required load for operating condition during total accumulated test time 2,100 sec.

개선된 구조의 Null-Type 토크마그네토미터의 설계 및 제작 (Design and Fabrication of Improved Null-Type Torque Magnetometer)

  • 자성물질의 자기이방성을 측정하기 위해 개선된 구조의 null-type 토크마그네토미터를 설계, 제작하였다. 제작된 토크마그네토미터의 측정범위는 $0~{\pm}15\;dyne.cm$이며 조절이 가능하다. 이 범위내에서 분해능은 약 0.0005 dyne.cm 정도이며, 1회 측정시 잡음수준은 ~0.01 dyne.cm, 10회 반복측정한 경우 ~0.004 dyne.cm 이하였으며, 반복재현시 나타나는 오차는 0.5% 이하였다. 본 연구에서 제작된 토크마그네토미터는 종전의 null-type 토크마그네토미터와는 달리 영구자석을 내부에, 헬름홀쯔 코일을 외부에 위치시킨 구조의 토크미터를 포함하고 있다. 이로 인하여, 기하학적으로 등방적인 모양으로 토크미터를 설계할 수 있었으며, 헬름헬쯔 코일의 입력전선과 출력전선의 역학적 및 전기적 임피던스에 으히나 토크곡선의 왜곡을 방지할 수 있었고, 샘플막대의 관성모멘트를 줄일 수 있었다. 그 결과 토크에 대하 보다 민감하면서도 반응속도가 빠르며 토크곡선의 왜곡요인이 적은 토크마그네토미터를 제작할 수 있었다.

사판식 피스톤 모터의 트라이포드 기구의 거동 특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Behavior of Tripod Mechanism in Swashplate Type Piston Motor)

  • A swashplate type piston motor with a tripod joints is introduced to improve compactness and starting torque in conventional types of motor. If the driving torque of motor shaft is transmitted by utilizing the mechanism, its friction torque loss would be drastically reduced and mechanical efficiency would be improved because the lateral force on the piston of the rod type motor with tripod joints mechanism is relatively smaller than that of the conventional plunger type motor. In particular, kinematics analysis for the mechanism are done as a preliminary study to investigate the feasibility of the mechanism in the axial piston motor. General formulas are derived from the displacement and velocity analysis of the mechanism, showing relationships between output shaft and shoe holder motion. A series of numerical calculations are carried out for a medium size motor with 160cc/rev using the formulas and their graphical plots are shown as well.

열간 선재 압연기에서 작업롤 베어링의 외측링 파손에 관한 연구 (Study on Failure in Outer Ring of Work Roll Bearing in Hot Rod Rolling Mill)

  • A finite element analysis-based approach which investigates the causes of the breakdown in the outer ring of the choke at hot rod rolling mill is presented. Two-dimensional drawings of the whole vertical-type mill stand are transformed into three-dimensional CAD models. Non-linear elasto-plastic deformation analysis of material at the roll gap is performed for computing roll force and torque of the work roll. Then, the reaction forces of the bearing rings together with a set of roller bearings that support the work roll are obtained by means of rigid body motion analysis. Finally, stress behaviors in the bearing rings together with a set of roller bearings that support the work roll are investigated by linear elastic analysis. Results reveal that stress at the contact area between the outer ring and roller bearing is extraordinary high when an internal gap between an external surface of the outer ring and the internal surface of the chock due to wear of the inside of the chock occurs.

  • By applying of total electric capacitance method on engine connecting rod bearing during engine operating, the influence of engine operating conditions and lubricants on bearing oil film thickness was investigated. Minimum oil film thickness increases with kinematic viscosity, but as increasing of viscosity, the increasing ratio of film thickness is reduced. Also minimum oil film thickness increases with engine speed but there is a limit. Above this limit, film thickness decreases in opposition because of crankshaft inertia. As increasing of engine torque and oil temperature, munimum oil film thickness decreases linearly. For non-Newtonian oils, the correlation between $100{\circ}C$ kinematic viscosity and munimum oil film thickness is very poor.

  • KOMPSAT-2 위성에서 사용되는 torque-rod에 각 유닛의 magnetic field가 어떤 영향을 미치는 지 분석하기 위해 유닛의 magnetic moment 값이 이용된다. KOMPSAT-2의 각 전장품들의 magnetic moment 값은 기존 KOMPSAT-1의 값에 의존하여 결정되었다 이것은 KOMPSAT-2는 KOMPSAT-1의 heritage를 따라 설계되었으며 각 전장품 역시 KOMPSAT-1의 전장품 설계를 대부분 따르고 있기 때문이다. (중략)

  • This study addresses the modeling of a bi-directional outlet variable swash plate type axial piston pump with two EPPR valves and an analysis of the response characteristics to the angle control of that pump. In this paper, the combination of the EPPR valve and double rod type piston is referred to as the EPPR regulator. The EPPR regulator is compact and inexpensive, and has good responsiveness. Under actual pump operating conditions, because of the various external conditions of the pump, inertia is applied to the swash plate, generating the tilting torque. Also, the tilting torque can delay or shorten the response characteristics of the regulator. So we validated them through the analysis using SimulationX and these results allow users to freely integrate the EPPR regulator into the desired system.
