지형호칭에 의한 하천 미지형경관의 공간특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Spatial Characteristics of Microtopography of Stream by Topographic Names)

  • In order to understand the spatial forms of stream, this study aimed to typify stream microtopography through the collection of common names of topography determined by fishermen and to describe stream landscapes by using these typology. The seventeen stream microtopography names were sorted out and divided into three types : the streamside space which includes Kaeul-jari, Hapsu-mori, Cholpyok-jidae, Kyekok-jidae and Korpuri, stream plate which includes Youl, Mulgol, So and Ungdongi, and streambed materials which includes Ampan-jidae, Pawi-jidae, Dolpat-jidae, Chagal-jidae, Chanchgal-jidae, Moraetop, Kamtang-padak and Suchodae. The spatial characteristics of stream microtopography landscape were described according to the comparison of landform, the support of fishing, accessibility, viewpoint and eye-catching degree. The tipification of stream microtopography and their symbolization will offer a rich vocabulary to describe diverse spatial forms of stream.

  • Titanium implant is used as the most popular dental material for replacement of missing teeth recently. A lot of studies on the surface modification of titanium implant have been carried out for enhancing osseointegration. The surface modification techniques could be classified as follows; topographic modifications which provide roughness and porosity, chemical surface modificationss or deposition of osseoconductive materials, and biochemical modifications to immobilize bone growth factors on titanium surface. In this study, the current and ongoing surface modification techniques and its typical characteristics used in clinics were reviewed. In the future, study and implication about biochemical modifications including patient' s individual characteristics will be important.

부평지역(富平地域)의 중생대(中生代) 화성암류(火成岩類) (Mesozoic Igneous Rocks in the Bupyeong District)

  • In the Bupyeong district, Mesozoic pyroclastic rocks, intrusive breccia, granites and felsic porphyries comprise a volcano-plutonic complex, overlying and intruding the Precambrian Gyeonggi gneiss complex. pyroclastic rocks, consisted mainly of rhyolitic welded tuffs, form a topographic circular structure about 10 kilometers in diameter. Granites and felsic porphyries which intruded the pyroclastic rocks are distributed in the inner side and also along the outer margin of the circular structure. K-Ar ages of two granite bodies(biotite), 162 and $148{\pm}7$ Ma, and that of the intrusive rhyolite (whole rock), $121{\pm}6$ Ma indicate that a series of volcano-plutonic igneous activity occurred between Jurassic and early Cretaceous age. Petrochemical characteristics suggest that the pyroclastic rocks, granites and felsic porphyries were originated from the comagmatic source. From the evidences of field occurrence, petrochemical and geochronological characteristics of igneous rocks and the geologic structures, it is believed that the igneous rocks in the Bupyeong district were formed during a Jurassic to early Cretaceous resurgent caldera evolution.

  • Flooding is one of the main causes of loss of lives and properties among various natural disasters in Korea. Flood risk maps are currently being produced in Korea but the progress is slow considering the necessity to map at nationwide scale. In this study, GIS-based multi-criteria decision making process which is normally used for resource management and site analysis was applied to locate flood vulnerable areas. Past records of flooding maps were analysed to extract topographic characteristics of flooded areas. The extracted characteristics were then set as criteria for flooding analysis using the Fuzzy and Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) methodology. Results from this study showed that an improved phased action plan was possible, because the flood vulnerable areas are shown in varying degrees of uncertainty unlike the conventional Boolean type GIS layer superimposition analysis.

Building Extraction from Lidar Data and Aerial Imagery using Domain Knowledge about Building Structures

  • Traditionally, aerial images have been used as main sources for compiling topographic maps. In recent years, lidar data has been exploited as another type of mapping data. Regarding their performances, aerial imagery has the ability to delineate object boundaries but omits much of these boundaries during feature extraction. Lidar provides direct information about heights of object surfaces but have limitations with respect to boundary localization. Considering the characteristics of the sensors, this paper proposes an approach to extracting buildings from lidar and aerial imagery, which is based on the complementary characteristics of optical and range sensors. For detecting building regions, relationships among elevation contours are represented into directional graphs and searched for the contours corresponding to external boundaries of buildings. For generating building models, a wing model is proposed to assemble roof surface patches into a complete building model. Then, building models are projected and checked with features in aerial images. Experimental results show that the proposed approach provides an efficient and accurate way to extract building models.

대청도 모래울 사구의 지형 특성과 OSL 연대 (Geomorphological Characteristics and OSL Ages of the Moraeul dune in Daechoengdo Island, South Korea)

  • Coastal dunes play an important role in coastal defense. The Moraeul dune in Daecheongdo Island is representative in this regard. However, there is little knowledge, concerning the morphology, grain size, and formation timing of the dune. This study investigated the geomorphological characteristics of the Moraeul dune using topographic surveys, grain size analyses, and OSL dating. The dune was classified as 'single accreted foredune', which was developed under dense vegetation cover and efficient sand trapping. The dune consisted of fine to medium sand with 1.6Φ of mean grain size, and was covered with pine trees (> 100 years old). The samples from the upper part of the dune yielded quartz OSL ages ranging 0.5 ~ 0.7 ka. Therefore, it is likely that the dune developed at least before the Little Ice Age and became what it is today about one century ago.

지형 특성과 경작지 분포를 고려한 밭정비 유형 분석 - 무안군과 화순군 비교 - (Analysis of Field Infrastructure Improvement Types according to Geographic Characteristics and Spatial Distribution of Upland - Comparison of Muan-gun and Hwasun-gun -)

  • To suggest the field maintenance plan considering the geographical characteristics of the region, we selected representative regions(plain regione and mountain region) and compared spatial distribution of cultivated land in Muan-gun and Hwasun-gun. Firstly, we examined the distribution characteristics of cultivated land according to the scope of the maintenance object with Fragstats. As a result of that, it was found that the cultivated area except rice paddy had the highest aggregation effect. And then, we developed type classification of maintenance considering geographic characteristics and cultivated crops information. As a result of classification, plain land type Muan region was mostly cultivated land suitable for integrated maintenance. On the other hand, Hwasun, a mountainous terrain, needs small-scale maintenance and road maintenance. Based on these results, it was found that more detailed planning is needed for the upland field infrastructure improvement considering the topographic characteristics.

  • This paper presents a result of performance evaluation fur non-contact scanning probe microscopy with respect to the vibration characteristics of cantilevers with tips. One of the current issues of the scanning probe microscopy technology is to increase the measurement speed, which is closely tied with the dynamic characteristics of cantilevers. The primary concern in this research is to investigate the relation between the maximum possible speed of non-contact scanning probe microscopy and the dynamic characteristics of cantilevers. First, the finite element analysis is made fur the vibration characteristics of various cantilevers in use. The computed natural frequencies of the cantilevers are in good agreement with measured ones. Then, each cantilever is tested with topographic measurement for a standard sample with the scanning speed changed. The performances of cantilevers are analyzed along with the natural frequencies of cantilevers. Experiments are also performed to test the effects of how to attach cantilevers in the piezo-electric actuator. Finally, measurement sensitivity has been analyzed to enhance the performance of scanning probe microscopy.

"오만분일지형도(五萬分一地形圖)"에 나타난 20세기 초 한반도의 지명 분포와 특성 (The Distribution and Characteristics of Geographical Names on 1:50,000 Topographic Map of the Korean Peninsula in the Early 20th Century)

  • 지명은 생활환경에 대한 인간의 인지적 표현이자 시 공간적으로 변화하는 역사, 문화적 산물로서 지역의 역사성과 지역성을 이해하는 유용한 기초자료이다. 본 연구는 일제시기 대축척 지도에 수록된 지명의 유형별, 지역별 분포와 빈도를 파악하고 이를 전자문화지도로 구현함으로써 시대적, 지역적 특성을 읽어보고자 하였다. 연구결과, 20세기 초 한반도의 지명분포 양상은 지형과 지세, 인구와 경지, 군현 수, 행정 및 군사 기능 등 국토의 자연 및 인문 환경의 보편적 특성을 반영하고 있다. 또한 지명의 양태별 비중과 빈도를 통해 우리 고유지명의 변화는 물론 자원수탈, 철도부설, 국경관리, 만주경영 의욕 등 한반도 식민경영을 위한 일제의 정책적 수요와 필요에 따른 시대적 변화상을 읽을 수 있었다. 나아가 '치(峙)' '령(嶺)' '덕(德)' '항(項)' '평(坪)' '곡(谷)' 등과 같은 자연 및 인문지명어의 빈도와 분포 특성을 비교하여 당대 사람들의 환경인식과 선호경향, 지명의 명명기반과 형태 등의 지역적 차이를 확인하였는데 이는 서로 다른 지리환경적 특성에 가장 크게 영향을 받은 것으로 설명된다.

바람길 조성을 위한 도시공간유형별 찬공기 유동 특성 분석 - 창원시 도시지역을 중심으로 - (Analysis of Cold Air Flow Characteristics according to Urban Spatial Types to Construct a Wind Road - Focused on Urban Area of Changwon -)

  • 본 연구는 경상남도 창원시 도시지역을 대상으로 공간유형에 따른 찬공기 유동 특성을 분석하였다. 공간유형은 창원시 도시생태현황지도의 토지이용현황도와 건물 정보, 지형 특성을 활용하여 군집분석을 통해 분류하였다. 찬공기 유동은 KLAM_21 모델링을 활용하여 시간의 경과에 따른 찬공기 양과 풍속으로 분석하였다. 그 결과, 공간유형은 건물의 밀집도와 높이, 토지이용 유형, 그리고 지형 특성인 평지, 계곡, 능선, 경사지가 고려되어 총 14개 유형으로 분류되었다. 찬공기 유동은 도시 외곽의 산림지역 계곡부에서 찬공기가 생성되어 도로와 평지를 통해 이동하여 저지대인 창원국가산업단지에 축적되기 시작하고, 이후 도시지역 전반에 찬공기가 확산되는 것으로 나타났다. 건물이 높은 지역은 찬공기의 유동이 많았고, 경사지와 능선부는 찬공기 축적이 적어 유동량이 상대적으로 작았다. 본 연구결과는 건물 밀집도와 토지이용 유형, 지형 형태에 따른 찬공기 유동 특성 파악이 가능하였고, 이는 도시지역의 기후 완화 및 대기질 개선을 위한 도시 바람길 조성의 기초자료로 유용하게 활용될 것이다.
