가상현실을 이용한 실시간 차량 그래픽 주행 시뮬레이터 (A Real-Time Graphic Driving Simulator Using Virtual Reality Technique)

  • Driving simulators provide engineers with a power tool in the development and modification stages of vehicle models. One of the most important factors to realistic simulations is the fidelity obtained by a motion bed and a real-time visual image generation algorithm. Virtual reality technology has been widely used to enhance the fidelity of vehicle simulators. This paper develops the virtual environment for such visual system as head-mounted display for a vehicle driving simulator. Virtual vehicle and environment models are constructed using the object-oriented analysis and design approach. Based on the object model, a three-dimensional graphic model is completed with CAD tools such as Rhino and Pro/ENGINEER. For real-time image generation, the optimized IRIS Performer 3D graphics library is embedded with the multi-thread methodology. The developed software for a virtual driving simulator offers an effective interface to virtual reality devices.

  • Recently, interest in the necessity and practical application of BIM (Building Information Modeling) is also increasing in the civil engineering field. However, there are difficulties in building BIM models and utilizing BIM modeling in the civil engineering field due to various reasons. To this end, it is necessary to develop management tools and research on management methods that can effectively utilize the BIM library in the civil engineering field. Libraries in the civil engineering field are complementary to each other, so library management in consideration of library management in various combinations and continuous updates is important. BIM library management was proposed through the development of a management tool that reflects these characteristics, which is expected to contribute to improving productivity in the field of civil design.

  • In this paper, Verification of the qualitatively identical relationships existing between simulation data and experimental results allowed for a new analysis procedure of a planetary gear set -- in an automatic transmission -- to be conducted. Tooth profiles were found to be crucial to the gear mesh forces of the planetary gear set. Based on Kahraman's Model[8], dynamic resonances of the planetary gear set were found to be out of operating range. Most importantly, a 2DPLANETARY FEM program, an innovative design tool for planetary gear sets, was utilized.

  • Membrane structures are widely used for LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas) storage tanks. This study presents a membrane structure based on the Mark-III type. For its development, a series of numerical simulation was conducted using ABAQUS and experimental investigation was carried out. The manufacturing process of the membrane was simulated. The thickness distribution predicted by the numerical approach agreed well with the experimental results.

  • Research on modification and replacement of conventional AC distribution system to DC distribution system has been widely conducted. When DC system is applied, it is possible to improve energy transferring efficiency because most of the home appliances are electric loads which require DC input voltage. Furthermore, compatibility with renewable energy sources and secondary batteries should be improved as they are DC based power sources. To design energy efficient DC system, it is important to understand the load characteristics of the electric devices. In this paper, the electric appliances are classified to 3 types: motor, heating, and electric loads and their typical power consumptions are shown. Load patterns of load which can be used in analyzing the designed system are modeled according the statistics. Feasibility of the developed load patterns are verified by applying it in distribution system design tool.

겹치기 이음부의 설계변수 변화에 따른 고유진동수의 예측 (Prediction of Natural Frequency via Change in Design Variable on Connection Area of Lap Joint)

  • This paper describes the prediction of eigenfrequencies due to changes in stiffness and mass in the connection area of the lap joint beam in terms of linear and torsional stiffness as well as connection length. The sensitivities of mass and stiffness in the finite element model were derived by using the first-order differential and algebraic equation and were thereafter applied to obtain new natural frequencies that were compared with theoretical exact solutions. Newly predicted natural frequencies due to only a change in stiffness were in relatively good agreement with those in lower modes for rigid joints, while further investigation was needed for flexible joints. On the other hand, only the change in mass resulted in a large discrepancy in the flexible joint case. It may be strongly anticipated that this study will provide a useful tool for estimating modal parameters by change in any design variable, such as the structural dimension, material property, or connection type for a large-scale structure, even though the proposed methodology is currently limited to a jointed beam.

  • Pin은 프로그램 동적 분석 도구를 생성할 수 있는 프레임워크로, 리눅스와 윈도우에서 사용자 영역의 프로그램 분석을 수행할 수 있게 한다. 역공학 방지 프로그램이나 악성코드는 프로그램 분석을 방해하는 안티디버깅이 적용되어 있기 때문에 Pin을 사용한 분석이 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 Pin을 이용해서 프로그램에 적용된 안티디버깅을 우회하여 동적 분석을 진행할 수 있는 Pin 플러그인 프로그램을 설계한 내용과 구현한 내용을 제안한다. Pin 탐지 안티디버깅을 우회할 수 있는 각각의 Pin 코드를 작성하고, Pin 코드를 하나로 합쳐 여러 안티디버깅을 우회할 수 있는 Pin 도구를 구현한다. 구현된 Pin 도구는 안티디버깅을 지원하는 프로텍터로 생성한 파일로 안티디버깅 우회 실험을 진행한다. 본 기법은 추후에 발견되는 안티디버깅 우회 코드 작성의 참고자료가 될 것이고 발견된 안티디버깅에 맞춰 수정 후 추가 적용이 가능할 것으로 예상된다.

  • As computer-related technologies have been developed, legacy design systems have not been appropriate far new computing environment. It is necessary that most of them are either modified or newly developed. However, these activities require quite much amount of cost and time. This paper presents a method of extending legacy design systems to the internet without any modification using XML and XSLT. We have been extended legacy systems in the two viewpoints. First, an XML document has been defined to present the input information of a legacy system which is executed on the consol environment - MS DOS, for example. Also, an XSLT document has been generated to transform an XML document to the input document of the legacy system An XML document is transformed to the input document by XSLT processor according to the transformation rules defined in the XSLT document. This technique to generate input documents is independent to the platform type and facilitates to link legacy systems to other systems. Second, a legacy system controller has been made to control a legacy system and developed a web service to extend it and its controller. The legacy system controller operates it automatically. The web service provides its functions to other systems via internet. We have applied the developed methodologies to the legacy gear design system 조ich calculates AGMA gear rating md made AGMA gem rating web service.

Modification of RFSP to Accommodate a True Two-Group Treatment

  • RFSP is a computer program to do fuel management calculations for CANDU reactors. Its main function is to calculate neutron flux and power distributions using two-energy-group, three dimensional neutron diffusion theory. However, up to now the treatment has not been true two-group but actually "one-and-half groups". In other words, the previous (1.5-group) version of RFSP lumps the fast fission term into the thermal fission term. This is based on the POWDERPUFS-V Westcott convention. Also, there is no up-scattering term or bundle power over cell flux (H1 factor) for the fast group. While POWDERPUFS-V provides only 1.5 group properties, true two-group cross sections for the design and analysis of CAUDU reactors can be obtained from WIMS-AECL. To treat the full two-group properties, the previous RFSP version was modified by adding the fast fission, up-scatter terms, and H1 factor. This two-group version of RFSP is a convenient tool to accept lattice properties from any advanced lattice code (e.g. WIMS-AECL DRAGON, HELIOS...) and to apply to advanced fuel cycles. In this study, the modification to implement the true two-group treatment was performed only in the subroutines of the *SIMULATE module of RFSP. This module is the appropriate one to modify first, since it is used for the tracking of reactor operating histories. The modified two-group RFSP was evaluated with true two-group cross sections from WIMS-AECL. Some tests were performed to verify the modified two-group RFSP and to evaluate the effects of fast fission and up-scatter for three core conditions and four cases corresponding to each condition. The comparisons show that the two-group results are quite reasonable and serve as a verification of the modifications made to RFSP. To assess the long-term impact of the full 2-group treatment, it is necessary to simulate a long period (several months) of reactor history. It will also be necessary to implement the full two-group treatment of reactivity devices and assess the reactivity-device worths.ce worths.
