Research on the Power Sharing Control and Stability of VSGs

  • Aiming at the deficiencies of power sharing control performances when a traditional droop control is adopted for microgrid inverters, this paper proposes a microgrid inverter power sharing control strategy based on a virtual synchronous generator. This control method simulates the electromechanical transient characteristics of a synchronous generator in a power system by an ontology algorithm and the control laws of a synchronous generator by control over the speed governor and excitation regulator. As a result, that the microgrid system is able to effectively retain the stability of the voltage and frequency, and the power sharing precision of the microgrid inverter is improved. Based on an analysis of stability of a microgrid system controlled by a virtual synchronous generator, design thoughts are provided for further improvement of the power sharing precision of inverters. The simulation results shows that when the virtual synchronous generator based control strategy was adopted, the power sharing performances of microgrid inverters are improved more obviously than those using the droop control strategy.

Integrating Advanced Technologies in Elderly Care: Lessons from Nursing Homes in Tongling City, China

  • Integrating advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and big data is transforming elderly care services, particularly in nursing homes. This study explores the impact of these technologies on the quality of care in nursing homes in Tongling City, China. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from 298 elderly residents across 12 nursing homes through detailed surveys and interviews. The findings indicate that smart platforms and intelligent terminals significantly enhance service quality, with institutional conditions and social participation emerging as the most influential factors. Although the study's regional focus may limit the generalizability of the findings, it introduces novel applications of AI in dietary management and IoT in personalized environmental monitoring, which contribute original insights to the broader field of smart elderly care. These results underscore the transformative potential of advanced technologies in improving elderly care and offer a model that can be adapted to similar contexts globally. Future research should focus on longitudinal studies to assess the long-term impact of these technologies and explore their applicability in diverse cultural and regional settings.

Historical Long-term Exposure to Pentachlorophenol Causing Risk of Cancer - A Community Study

  • Background: Pervious studies suggested occupational workers exposure to pentachlorophenol (PCP) might contribute to increased risk of cancer. However, few studies have focused on associations between PCP and cancer risk at the community level. Objective: The present study was to explore the cancer risk for the community population living long-term in a PCP contaminated area. Methods: All the cancer cases diagnosed in 2009-2011 in Tongling City were collected. The cancer patients' residencies were geo-referenced in each district. The historical PCP usage for each district of Tongling was calculated as the PCP pollution index, which was further used to divide into PCP exposure categories. Standardized rate ratios (SRRs) of cancer incidence were applied to detect the cancer risk as exposure grade elevated. Correlation analysis was performed to analyze the relationship between PCP pollution and cancer incidence. Results: A total of 5,288 cancer cases (3,451 male and 1,837 female) were identified. PCP usage was correlated with the incidence of leukemia (r=0.88, P=0.002) for males, and with cancer of the esophagus for males (r=0.83, P=0.008) and females (r=0.71, P=0.020). Compared with the low exposure category, significant SRRs for total cancer sites was obtained for high PCP exposure category (SRR=1.61, 95%CI=1.59-1.62). Most SRR values of the cancer sites were significantly increased as exposure grade elevated and exposure time extended. Conclusion: The present study found that community residents living in the PCP contaminated area had increased risk of cancers. Leukemias, lymphomas and nasopharyngeal and esophageal cancers are most possibly associated with PCP exposure.

  • The convergence properties of extended negatively dependent sequences under some conditions of uniform integrability are studied. Some sufficient conditions of the weak law of large numbers, the $p$-mean convergence and the complete convergence for extended negatively dependent sequences are obtained, which extend and enrich the known results in the literature.

Comparison of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor Mutations between Primary Tumors and Lymph Nodes in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer: a Review and Meta-analysis of Published Data

  • Background: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) can predict the clinical response to tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) therapy. However, EGFR mutations may be different in primary tumors (PT) and metastatic lymph nodes (MLN). The aim of this study was to compare EGFR mutations between PT and the corresponding MLN in NSCLC patients, and provide some guidelines for clinical treatment using TKI therapy. Materials and Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis was performed with several research databases. Relative risk (RR) with the 95% confidence interval (CI) were used to investigate the EGFR mutation status between PT and the corresponding MLN. A random-effects model was used. Results: 9 publications involving 707 patients were included in the analysis. It was found that activation of EGFR mutations identified in PT and the corresponding MLN was 26.4% (187/707) and 19.9% (141/707), respectively. The overall discordance rate in our meta-analysis was 12.2% (86/707). The relative risk (RR) for EGFR mutation in PT relative to MLN was 1.33 (95%CI: 1.10-1.60; random-effects model). There was no significant heterogeneity between the studies ($I^2$=5%, p=0.003). Conclusions: There exists a considerable degree of EGFR mutation discrepancy in NSCLC between PT and corresponding MLN, suggesting that tumor heterogeneity might arise at the molecular level during the process of metastasis.

Vehicle Image Recognition Using Deep Convolution Neural Network and Compressed Dictionary Learning

  • In this paper, a vehicle recognition algorithm based on deep convolutional neural network and compression dictionary is proposed. Firstly, the network structure of fine vehicle recognition based on convolutional neural network is introduced. Then, a vehicle recognition system based on multi-scale pyramid convolutional neural network is constructed. The contribution of different networks to the recognition results is adjusted by the adaptive fusion method that adjusts the network according to the recognition accuracy of a single network. The proportion of output in the network output of the entire multiscale network. Then, the compressed dictionary learning and the data dimension reduction are carried out using the effective block structure method combined with very sparse random projection matrix, which solves the computational complexity caused by high-dimensional features and shortens the dictionary learning time. Finally, the sparse representation classification method is used to realize vehicle type recognition. The experimental results show that the detection effect of the proposed algorithm is stable in sunny, cloudy and rainy weather, and it has strong adaptability to typical application scenarios such as occlusion and blurring, with an average recognition rate of more than 95%.

  • Recently, Alzer and Choi [2] introduced and studied a set of the four linear Euler sums with parameters. These sums are parametric extensions of Flajolet and Salvy's four kinds of linear Euler sums [9]. In this paper, by using the method of residue computations, we will establish two explicit combined formulas involving two parametric linear Euler sums S++p,q (a, b) and S+-p,q (a, b) defined by Alzer and Choi, which can be expressed in terms of a linear combinations of products of trigonometric functions, digamma functions and Hurwitz zeta functions.
