The well-developed noise separatrion techniques are applied to the V8 RG8 Diesel engine for the engine noise reduction of a commercial vehicle. For various loads and engine RPM's, the contribution of the combustion oriented noise and the mechanically induced noise was calculated under the small variations of the injection timing. For the given Diesel engine the mechanical noise is dominant for low rpm, and the contribution of the combustion noise becomes greater as the rpm increases. The combustion noise is dominant around 2kHz range or under 50% loading condition.

This paper describes theories and implementation techniques of a digital high-definition television(HDTV) modem based on 32-QAM for terrestrial broadcasting. We proposed a digital demodulation scheme and a symbol timing recovery structure based on the band edge component maximization(BECM) method. The adaptive equalizer has 256 complex taps to remove the multipath of delays ranging from -2.mu.s~+24.mu.s with a new T/2-spaced blind equalization algorithm. computer simulation results reveal that the proposed algorithm outperforms other conventional blind equalization algorithm a digital HDTV modem with 4.91MHz symobol rate is implemented by utilizing the proposed algorithms. All processings for modem operations such as demodulation, estimation of symbol timing phase error, adaptive equalization, and carrier recovery except IF signal processing and sampling phase control part of the AD converter are done in digital domain. Especially, the carrier recovery loop can track a carrier offset of upto .+-.350KHz.
A graphic processing unit (GPU) can perform the same calculation on multiple data (SIMD: single instruction multiple data) using hundreds of to thousands of special purpose processors for graphic processing. Thus, high efficiency is expected when GPU is used for the generation and correlation of satellite navigation signals, which perform generation and processing by applying the same calculation procedure to tens of millions of discrete signal samples per second. In this study, the structure of a GPU-based GNSS simulator for the generation and processing of satellite navigation signals was designed, developed, and verified. To verify the developed satellite navigation signal generator, generated signals were applied to the OEM-V3 receiver of Novatel Inc., and the measured values were examined. To verify the satellite navigation signal processor, the performance was examined by collecting and processing actual GNSS intermediate frequency signals. The results of the verification indicated that satellite navigation signals could be generated and processed in real time using two GPUs.
GNSS modernization and development is in progress throughout the globe, and it is focused on the addition of a new navigation signal. Accordingly, for the next-generation GNSS signals that have been developed or are under development, various combinations that are different from the existing GNSS signal structures can be introduced. In this regard, to design an advanced signal, it is essential to clearly understand the effects of the signal structure and design variables. In the present study, the effects of the GNSS spreading code period and GNSS data bit duration (i.e., signal design variables) on the signal processing performance were analyzed when the data bit transition was considered, based on selected GNSS signal design scenarios. In addition, a method of utilizing the obtained result for the design of a new GNSS signal was investigated.

In multibit Sigma-Delta Modulator, DWA(Data Weighted Averaging) among the DEM(Dynamic Element Matching) techniques was widely used to get rid of non-linearity that caused by mismatching of unit capacitor in feedback DAC path. this paper proposed the improved DWA architecture by adjusting clock timing of the existing DWA architecture. 2n Register block used for output was replaced with 2n S-R latch block. As a result of this, MOS Tr. can be reduced and extra clock can also be removed. Moreover, two n-bit Register block used to delay n-bit data code is decreased to one n-bit Register. In order to confirm characteristics, DWA for the 3-bit output with the proposed DWA architecture was designed on 0.18um process under 1.8V supply. Compared with the existing architecture. It was able to reduce the number of 222 MOS Tr.

In 2021, development of a regional satellite navigation system called KPS was approved. In this regard, various studies are in progress, but there is no published signal model. So, in relation to the user segment, it is necessary to design a user receiver, but there is no information. Therefore, in this paper, we assume a signal model that can be a candidate signal for KPS based on related studies. This signal uses CNAV-2 structure navigation message, truncated Gold code and BPSK modulation. Based on this signal, a simulator is designed that can be used for receiver design later. The simulator consists of a signal generator and a signal transmitter, and is verified using a software receiver and spectrum analyzer.
This paper introduces the development of the iterative multiple signal classification (MUSIC)-based direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation system using a rotator that can control the direction of antenna for the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) interference. The system calculates the spatial spectrum according to the noise eigenvector of all dimensions to measure the number of signals (NOS). Also, to detect the false peak, the system adjusts the array antenna's direction and checks the change's peak angles. The phase delay and gain correction values for system calibration are calculated in consideration of the chamber's structure and the characteristics of radio waves. The developed system estimated DOAs of interferences located about 1km away. The field test results show that the developed system can estimate the DOA without NOS information and detect the false peak even though the inter-element spacing is longer than the half-wavelength of the interference.
In this paper, a fully reconfigurable Software Defined Radio (SDR) for multi-constellation and multi-frequency Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers is presented. The reconfigurability with respect to the data structure, variability of signal and receiver parameters, and receiver's internal functionality is presented. The configuration file, that is modified to lead to an entirely different operation of the SDR in response to specific target signal scenarios, directly determines the operating characteristics of the SDR. In this manner, receiver designers can effectively reduce the effort to develop many different combinations of multi-constellation and/or multi-frequency GNSS receivers. Finally, the implementation of the presented fully reconfigurable SDR is included with the experimental processing results such as acquisition, tracking, navigation for the received signals in the realistic fields.
In this paper, a GPS/GF-INS integrated navigation system is proposed, in which the high rate attitude aiding signal, the high rate position and velocity aiding of GPS receiver is used for the cube structure of the GF-IMU, effectiveness of the proposed GPS/GF-INS integrated navigation system was shown when the vehicle follows two trajectories, circling and spiraling. Performance evaluation results show that the proposed GPS/GF-INS integrated navigation method gives better navigation outputs when the attitude output of GPS is used and more better navigation outputs are obtained when the rate of GPS aiding signal is higher.
