Recently, many people suffering from voice color change visit otolaryngologist. There is no specific data which can be evaluated objectively for voice color change in korean. In aerodynamic study, maximum phonation time, mean air flow rate, phonatory flow volume and subglottal pressure were tested by using Aerophone II voice function analyzer in korean. 112 male and 122 female aged from 10 to 69 years were randomly selected. Maximum phonation time was 20.8${\pm}$6.4sec in male and 17.2${\pm}$4.1sec in female. Mean air flow rate was 167.1${\pm}$61.4ml/sec. in male and 129.6${\pm}$49.3ml/sec in female. Phonatory flow volume was 3184.5${\pm}$646.0ml in male and 2122.1${\pm}$670.5ml in female. Subglottal pressure was 4.1${\pm}$1.8 cmH2O in male and 3.5${\pm}$1.4cm $H_2O$ in female. There was no statistically significant difference among age groups in all above results.
It was examined carefully that the bacterial die-off between Chlorella vulgaris and E. coli. W3110 was tested through adding TOC (total organic carbon) with the lab-scaled continuous river water flow system (CRWFS). Artificial synthetic wastewater was applied at two levels of organic carbon concentration; 1,335 mg/l in treatment type 1 and 267 mg/l in type 2. In both types, the population densities of Chlorella vulgaris were similar in a maximum 8.25 ${\times}$ 10$\^$6/ cells/ml (type 1) and 6.925 ${\times}$ 10$\^$6/ cells/ml (type 2). The maximum densities of E. coli. W3110 were 2.0 ${\times}$ 10$\^$8/ colony forming unit (CFU)/ml in type 1 and 3.9 ${\times}$ 10$\^$8/ CFU/ml in type 2. The densities increased for 11 days in type 1 and 4 days in type 2, then decreased rapidly till the 35th day, then slightly increased again. This trend was prominent in type 2. It implied that a wider range of nutrients was required in the growth of heterotrophic bacteria in type 2 than in type 1. We could not expect successful bacterial die-off if the wastewater retention time was not furnished sufficiently.
The inhibitory effect of pooled canine serum on the growth of ten strains of Malassezia pachydermatis in vitro was investigated. Studies were also carried out to observe the effect of different concentrations of unsaturated bovine transferrin on Malassezia growth in vitro. Ten strains of Malassezia pachygedrmatis in normal canine serum (11.1%, 44.4%) were found to significantly inhibit the growth (p<0.0005) not only in a dose dependent but also in a time dependent manner. The same strains of yeast treated with 1, 2, 4 and 8 times the normal value of serum transferrin (3.0 mg/ml, 6.0 mg/ml, 12.0 mg/ml, 24.0 mg/fl), were shown to have significantly lower OD readings (p<0.05) when compared to yeast treated in lower concentrations of transferrin (1.5 mg/ml). The optical density (OD) of the ten strains of yeast were significantly lower (p<0.005) when treated with various concentrations of transferrin than with the saline control except at 72 hours post incubation. These results indicate that serum has inhibitory effects on Malassezia pachydermatis growth in vitro, and transfferin is one of the components that contribute towards this inhibitory role. The inhibitions are dose and time dependent.
We examined a dermal pharmacokinetics for a new SYC-fentanyl patch in rabbits. Determination of fentanyl in the plasma was performed using a gas chromatography with nitrogen-phosphorus detection system and a capillary column. One patch per animal (fentanyl 2.5 mg) was applied to clipped back skin for 72 hours. The plasma fentanyl concentration profile of SYC-patch was similar to that of a conventional patch (Durogesi $c^{R}$, Janssen Co.). No significant difference was observed in the pharmacokinetic parameters, the area under the concentration-time curve (AU $C^{0-}$72hrs/) and the total area under the first moment-time curve (AUM $C^{0-}$7hrs/), between the two patch types. The AU $C^{0-}$7hrs/ and AUM $C^{0-}$72hrs/ of durogesi $c^{R}$ were 183.3$\pm$46.28 ng*hr/ml and 6,450$\pm$1,939ng*h$r^2$/ml, and those of SYC-fentany patch were 217.2$\pm$50.51$\pm$ng*hr/ml and 8,022$\pm$2,245ng*h$r^2$/ml, respectively (n=3). This result indicates that the new SYC patch has a similar bioavailability compared to durogesi $c^{R}$ patch. Therefore, the SYC-patch may be considered as a bioequivalent fentanyl patch.patch.tch.
This study was performed to investigate the distribution of Yersiniae and correlation between Yersiniae and indicator organism by time and area in spring water located in northern part of Seoul. Samples collected from 46 spring waters located in four mountains(Dobong, Bukhan, Surak, Bulam) were inspected to detect Yersiniae and indicator organisms. And also there were examined bioserological characteristics and resistance of ahtibiotics of the isolated Yersiniae. The result were as follows. 1. The isolation rate of Yersiniae was 22% in February and 20% in April. The isolated species were 6 strains of Y. enterocolitica, 6 strains of Y. aldova, 4 strains of Y. intermedia and 43 strains of Y. pseudotuberculosis. The serotype of Y. pseudotuberculosis isolated from was all O:5 and biotype of Y. enterocolitica isolated from was all O:3. 2. The Geometric mean of standard plate count, coliform, and psychrotrophilic bacteria were 3.4 CFU/ml, 1.2 MPN/100 ml and 33.0 CFU/ml in February and 3.1 CFU/ml, 1.5 MPN/100 ml and 20.5 CFU/ml in April respectively. There was no significant difference by time and area but the indicator organisms were correlated significantly with each other (p<0.05). 3. Because detection of Yersiniae was not statistically associated with indicator organism, Yersiniae can be detected in the spring water approved microbiologically (p<0.05). 4. The Yersiniae isolated were resistant to Ampicillin, Colistin, Carbenicillin and Coilstin. All isolaed Y. enterocolitica were resistant to Ampicillin (100%). In the case of Y. pseudotuberculosis, only 1 of 3 isolated was resistant to Colistin but susceptible to other antibiotics.

For the effective utilization of cellulosic biomass, conidial protoplast fusion between Aspergillus niger MAN-831(${\beta}-glucosidase$) and A. wentii MAW-538(CMCase and avicelase), which produced potently cellulolytic enzymes was carried out. Optimal conditions for formation and regeneration of protoplast were conidiospore age-5 dyuas. $2-DG-30\mu\textrm{g}/ml$, preincubation time-4 hours, osmotic stabilizer-0.7M KCl, novozyme(7mg/ml)+driselase(2.5mg/ml) and reaction time of enzyme-5 hours. Optimal conditions for protoplast fusion were obtained by treatment of protoplasts with 15mM CaCl2 and 25% polyethylene glycol 4000(pH 6~7) as fusogenic agent at $36^{\circ}C$ for 25~30 minutes. The frequency was then $7.94{\times}10^{-4}$. CMCase, avicelase and ${\beta}-glucosidase$ activity of fusant F-208 strain was 1.5, 1.3, 1.2 times higher than those of parental strains, respectively.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify characteristics of serum ferrum, TIBC and ferritin's circadian rhythm in normal adults and to prepare a standard to determine the examination material extraction time. Method: Nine women and ten men made up the convenience sample for this study they were from the staff of D university hospital and students in D medical School located in K city who met the qualifications for inclusion in the sample. The value of serum ferrum, TIBC and circadian rhythm were calculated as follows : First. each variable's amplitude. the acrophase and average were measured for a 24 hour cycle using the cosinor method, and then each person's rhythm was analyzed. Results: There were significant serum iron circadian rhythm for both men and women (p<.05). For the men, mesor was $105.91{\mu}g/dl$. amplitude was $29.52{\mu}g/dl$, and the acrophase was 9.76 hour. For the women, mesor was $108.17{\mu}g/dl$, amplitude was $28.09{\mu}g/dl$, and the acrophase was 11.42 hour The rhythm change of TIBC was only significant for the women (p<.05), mesor was 383.39mg/dl, amplitude was 60.29mg/dl. and the acrophase was 14.93hour. As for the circadian rhythm of the ferritin, there are no diurnal variation in either sex, men were between 134.0ng/ml and 137.4ng/ml, and women, between 29.1ng/ml and 30.1ng/ml. Conclusion: To help diagnose the boundary line between normal or deficiency in iron, measurement should be carried out at a fixed time in the morning and evening, or a more proper time would be in the afternoon at the time when the width of amplitude is the least.
This study developed a simulation program for truck-loader haulage systems in an underground mine. A limestone underground mine in Korea was selected as a study area and investigated to design the simulation algorithm for truck-loader haulage systems. GPSS/H simulation language was utilized to develop the simulation program. Simulations were conducted to analyze the optimal number of haulage trucks dispatched in the 540 ML loading point by using the developed program. The simulation results showed that 8 trucks can maximize the daily production (2,076 ton). The real production (1,850 ton/day) of limestone ores was very similar to the simulated one (1,850.35 ton/day) when considers 7 trucks dispatched in the 540 ML loading point. In addition, average waiting time at loader were similar (waiting time by time study : 1.39 min, simulated waiting time : 1.35 min).

A biosensor based on the measurement of capacitance changes has been designed and fabricated for simple and realtime detection of bacteria. Compared to an impedance measurement technique, the capacitance measurement can make additional measurement circuits simpler, which improves a compatability for integration between the sensor and circuit. The fabricated sensor was characterized by detecting Escherichia coli(E. coli). The capacitance changes measured by the sensor were proportional to E. coli cell density, and the proposed sensor could detect $1{\times}10^6$ cfu/ml E. coli at least. The real-time detection was verified by measuring the capacitance every 20 minutes. After 7 hours of E. coli growth experiment, the capacitance of the sensor in the micro volume well with $4.5{\times}10^5$ cfu/ml of initial E. coli density increased by 20 pF, and that in another wells with $1.5{\times}10^6$ cfu/ml and $8.5{\times}10^7$ cfu/ml initial E. coli density increased by 56 pF and 71 pF, respectively. The proposed sensor has a possibility of the real-time detection for bacterial growth, and can detect E. coli cells with $1.8{\times}10^5$ cfu in nutrient broth in 5 hours.
Purpose: It is hypothesized that robotic gastrectomy may surpass laparoscopic gastrectomy after the operators acquire long-term experience and skills in the manipulation of robotic arms. This study aimed to evaluate the long-term learning curve of robotic distal gastrectomy (RDG) for gastric cancer compared with laparoscopic distal gastrectomy (LDG). Materials and Methods: From October 2008 to December 2015, patients who underwent LDG (n=809) were matched to patients who underwent RDG (n=232) at a 1:1 ratio, by using a propensity score matching method after stratification for the operative year. The surgical outcomes, such as trends of operative time, blood loss, and complication rate, were compared between the two groups. Results: The RDG group showed a longer operative time (171.3 minutes vs. 147.6 minutes, P<0.001) but less estimated blood loss (77.6 ml vs. 116.6 ml, P<0.001). The complication rate and postoperative recovery did not differ between the two groups. The RDG group showed a longer operative time and similar estimated blood loss compared with the LDG group after 5 years of experience (operative time: 159.2 minutes vs. 136.0 minutes in 2015, P=0.003; estimated blood loss: 72.9 ml vs. 78.1 ml in 2015, P=0.793). Conclusions: In terms of short-term surgical outcomes, RDG may not surpass LDG after a long-term experience with the technique.
