This study grasps the living condition of Single-Parent-Family, and compares Single-Parent-Family with Dual-Parent-Family to analyze necessary factors to enjoy the happier life. The data from '2009 the Korean Time Use Survey' and '2010 the National Survey of Korean Families(NSKF)' are used for this study. ANOVA, Duncan test, Correlation Analysis(SPSS for windows, Ver. 18.0) are used for statistical method. Here are the results of this study. First, distribution of living-time-usage of the Single-Parent-Family is different from that of Dual-Parent-Family. Second, the difference in the amount of leisure time, time distribution, and the content of activity was observed based on the gender of Single-Parent-Family. Third, there is a difference in family leisure activity time among Dual-Parent-Family, Mother-Single-Parent-Family, and Father-Single-Parent-Family in holidays. The purpose of this study is to analyze the family's meals of the daily time use and to examine how shared meals time together with family is influenced by socio-demographic variables. The Time Use Survey data collected by Korean National Statistical Office in 2009 is used. Among the total sample of 21,000 individuals, 9,179 samples who are married, aged from 20 to 59 years old and non-farmers are selected for analysis. The statistical methods are frequency, percentage, and censored regression model. The following is a summary of the major findings. The first, compared with the research results in 1999 and 2004, the time use of meals by adults is longer. But average time of family meals decreases and rates of family meals participants 2009 decrease 5.6% than 1999. Secondly, the family meals time increases from about 36 minutes on weekdays to about an hours at weekends. Regardless of the day, the women's family meals time is longer than that of men's. Thirdly, the influencing factors on family meals are sex, age, education, presence or absence of spouses, monthly income, weekly working hours and presence or absence of preschoolers. And the magnitude of gender differences in daily shared meals is not particularly large except in the case of some socio-demographic variables. Regardless of the day, women's family meals time is more affected by either dual-earner status or monthly income than that of men's.

The subjects of this study were 570 married women teachers who live with their husebands and children in junior and senior high schools in Taegu, A questionaire was used as survey method. Factor analysis and MANOVA were employed for data analysis and Scheffe test forpost-hoc analysis. The main findings were : First the effect of family life cycle stages on the use of personal time reducing strategies was different according to perceived time pressure. Second the effect of perceived time pressure on the use of personal time reducing strategies differed according to family life cycle stages. Third the use of strategies for coping with time contratins was found to be significantly different according to family life cycle stages, Forth there were significant differences in the use of strategies for coping with time constrainsts according to perceived time pressure.
In this study, we challenge recent apocalyptic rhetoric about idle, burdensome, and dependent older people. Our primary objective is to examine and compare the productive activities of older adults in both Korea and Canada using a broader definition of productivity that included household work. Another objective is to identify and compare the factors related to the participation of household work of older adults in both countries. In order to conduct a comparative culture study two data sets were used; one was the 1999 Survey of Time Use collected by Korean Statistics Office and the other was 1998 Survey of Time Use collected by Canadian Statistics Office. Many countries have been collected a time use survey and used to study labor, welfare, and culture. Total number of 17,730 Korean and 2,729 Canadian between when and 84 were included to analyze the data. It is clear from the results that older people engage in productive behaviors, particularly when the definition of activities is broadened to include unpaid work. However, it is also clear the productive contributions in terms of household work ale lower among older Koreans than among older Canadians.
Modern persons should do many activities during limited time. In such situation, people feel time pressure because they think that time is short. Time pressure affects negatively several factors such as satisfaction and intention to use through perceived time cost. Ubiquity, an mobile service's characteristic in which users can use desired information or services in anywhere and anytime, would let users feel free from time pressure. This study examines the relationship between perceived time and intention to use and the moderating effect of ubiquity. We performed a survey for users of DMB service, a representative mobile service. Using Partial Least Square, we tested hypotheses. The results suggest that time pressure influences positively perceived time cost and that perceived time cost affects negatively satisfaction but not enjoyment. And the results show that there are the significant positive relationships between enjoyment and intention to use and between satisfaction and intention to use. Finally, the moderating effects of ubiquity on the relationships between perceived time cost and enjoyment and between perceived time cost and satisfaction was found to be positive and significant. We suggests implications basing on the results.
This study analyzed the time use of dual income paid workers. The data was selected from the '2009 Korean Time Use Survey' by the Korean National Statistical Office. There were 2799 respondents who were paid workers with dual income. There were big differences in time use between men and women. The result showed that men's time allocation focused on 'labor and leisure' and women's time allocation focused on ‘labor and housework'. This means the women among dual income paid workers faced difficulties in dual burden of work-family balance. Regression analysis on time use dividing men and women showed that age, education, income, working type and the presence of preschool children had significant effects on time allocation. We found the income effects on time use which reduced paid working time and increased housework and leisure time. Significantly, younger men who have preschool children spend more time in housework. We could find the possibility of a change in men's time allocation.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to analysis the relationship between hours of smartphone use and neck pain in university students. Methods : A survey of 2,353 university students was conducted in Gyeonggi province and Incheon city using a self report questionnaire from April 1 to 11 2013. The questionnaire of questions regarding the hours of using smartphone, mainly used function in participant's smartphone and neck discomfort degree. Neck disability index(NDI) was used to evaluate degree of pain. The collected data were analyzed with the t-test and Kendall's tau test using the SPSS 21.0 program and R 3.1.0, respectively. Results : 1. Almost all of the survey participants(99.07 %) were smartphone users. 66.97 % of them answered that they use their smartphone daily more than 2 hours and 48.18 % of them answered that they use their smartphone 10 to 30 minutes everytime they use it. 2. The overall distribution of NDI scores was 'no disability(0~4 score, 62.92 %)', 'mild disability(5~14 score, 32.85 %)', 'moderate disability(15~24 score, 1.19 %)'. As a result of t-test, we found that the average NDI score for female students was significantly higher than the average NDI score for male students(p<0.05). 3. The Kendall's tau test revealed that total time spent daily using smartphones has a strong positive correlation with 'pain intensity', 'lifting', 'reading' 'headache', 'concentration', and 'driving'(p<0.05) in NDI. Also, time duration of one time smartphone usage has a strong positive correlation with 'pain intensity', 'lifting', 'reading', 'headache', 'concentration', 'work', and 'recreation'(p<0.05). 4. The Kendall's tau test revealed that total NDI scores have a significantly strong positive correlation with both of total time spent daily using smartphones(p<0.05) and time duration for one time smartphone usage(p<0.05). This results imply that long-time use of smartphone has a strong relationship with neck pain. Conclusions : The results of the study would be a good starting point for future studies to reduce the risks of chronic neck pain caused by smartphone usage.
This study is the basic step of including the economical value of household labor into the existing GDP. Therefore this study analyzes statistical data; $\mathbb{\ulcorner}$Economical Active Population Survey$\mathbb{\lrcorner}$, $\mathbb{\ulcorner}$Time Used Survey$\mathbb{\lrcorner}$, $\mathbb{\ulcorner}$Basic Wage Structural Survey$\mathbb{\lrcorner}$, and $\mathbb{\ulcorner}$City Household Survey$\mathbb{\lrcorner}$ for that step and will help people to reconsider the importance of the economical value household work. Economical Active Population Survey classifies housework as economically nonoproductive activity Time Use Survey does not have an clear classification for action. Basic Wage Structural Survey must give subdividable information on wage. City Household Survey should include more details and more data of household durables.
This study determined the characteristics of meal-related time use among employees living in one-person and multi-person households by conducting a comparison focused on gender and age differences. Among the questionnaires distributed to employees during the 2014 Korean Time Use Survey, 19,692 were used for final analysis. The results were as follows: First, the one-person households had shorter meal-related time use than did the multi-person households, except for the time spent having snacks and beverages. Second, meal-related time use was generally longer in non-working days than in workdays. Third, gender differences in meal-related time use were observed, with the more significant ones being the differences in time devoted to meal preparation and dishwashing. Fourth, in both the one-person and multi-person households, women spent a longer amount of time preparing meals and washing dishes than did men, but this difference was greater in multi-person households. Fifth, old individuals spend a longer time preparing meals and washing dishes than did young individuals. Policies must be enforced to improve the quality of diets in one-person households. Such households should also be provided nutrition education to increase their awareness of the importance of healthy and regular meals. Another essential requirement of policy is the provision of gender equality education for both the one-person and multi-person households.
