비정상 상태 운전 시 정면충돌에서의 상해 분석 (Analysis of Driver Injuries Caused by Frontal Impact during Abnormal Driver Position)

  • Recently, the driver can be assisted by the advanced active safety devices such as ADAS from road traffic risks. With this system, driver and passenger may freed from can driving tasks or kept eyes on forward direction while on the road. Help from adoptive cruise control, auto parking and newly develped automated driving vehicles technologies, the driver positions will vary significantly from the current standard driver position during the travel time. On this hypothesis, the objective of this study is analyze the behavior and injuries of drivers in the event of frontal impact under these abnormal driver position. Based on the KNCAP frontal impact testing method, this simulation matrix was set-up with dummies of 5 th tile female Hybrid III dummy and 50 th tile male Hybrid III dummy. The small sedan type passenger car was modeled in this simulation. The series of simulation was performed to compare the injuries and behaviour of each dummy, varying the seating status and seat position of each dummy.

외부조명 변화에 강인한 운전자 졸음 감지 시스템 (System for Detecting Driver's Drowsiness Robust Variations of External Illumination)

  • In this study, a system is proposed for analyzing whether driver's eyes are open or closed on the basis of images to determine driver's drowsiness. The proposed system converts eye areas detected by a camera to a color space area to effectively detect eyes in a dark situation, for example, tunnels, and a bright situation due to a backlight. In addition, the system used a thickness distribution of a detected eye area as a feature value to analyze whether eyes are open or closed through the Support Vector Machine(SVM), representing 90.09% of accuracy. In the experiment for the images of driver wearing glasses, 83.83% of accuracy was obtained. In addition, in a comparative experiment with the existing PCA method by using Eigen-eye and Pupil Measuring System the detection rate is shown improved. After the experiment, driver's drowsiness was identified accurately by using the method of summing up the state of driver's eyes open and closes over time and the method of detecting driver's eyes that continue to be closed to examine drowsy driving.

  • Industrial network, often referred to as fieldbus, becomes an indispensable component for intelligent manufacturing systems. Thus, in order to satisfy the real-time requirements of field devices such as sensors, actuators, and controllers, numerous fieldbus protocols have been developed. But, the application of fieldbus has been limited due to the high cost of hardware and the difficulty in interfacing with multi-vendor products. As an alternative to fieldbus, the Ethernet (IEEE 802.3) technology is being adapted to the industrial environment. However, the crucial technical obstacle of Ethernet is its non-deterministic behavior that cannot satisfy the real-time requirements. Recently, the EtherCAT protocol becomes a very promising alternative for real-time industrial application due to the elimination of uncertainties in Ethernet. This paper focuses on the implementation of the IEC 61800 based real-time EtherCAT network for multi-axis smart driver. To demonstrate the feasibility of the implemented EtherCAT slave module, its synchronization performance is evaluated on the experimental EtherCAT testbed with a single axis smart driver.

Study on the Take-over Performance of Level 3 Autonomous Vehicles Based on Subjective Driving Tendency Questionnaires and Machine Learning Methods

  • Level 3 autonomous vehicles require conditional autonomous driving in which autonomous and manual driving are alternately performed; whether the driver can resume manual driving within a limited time should be examined. This study investigates whether the demographics and subjective driving tendencies of drivers affect the take-over performance. We measured and analyzed the reengagement and stabilization time after a take-over request from the autonomous driving system to manual driving using a vehicle simulator that supports the driver's take-over mechanism. We discovered that the driver's reengagement and stabilization time correlated with the speeding and wild driving tendency as well as driving workload questionnaires. To verify the efficiency of subjective questionnaire information, we tested whether the driver with slow or fast reengagement and stabilization time can be detected based on machine learning techniques and obtained results. We expect to apply these results to training programs for autonomous vehicles' users and personalized human-vehicle interfaces for future autonomous vehicles.

  • This paper presents the TTFC(Two Transistor Forward Converter) using Synchronous Rectifier of Compulsory Control-driver. The two transistor forward circuit is used to decrease voltage stress of primary side and the synchronous rectifier is used to reduce current stress of secondary side. Previous synchronous rectifier's MOSFET of TTFC have long dead time This paper presents synchronous rectifier of compulsory control-driver for minimized dead time. This paper compared with diode rectifier, self-driven synchronous rectifier and compulsory control-driver synchronous rectifier of TTFC. The principle of operation, feature and design considerations are illustrated and verified through the experiment with a 200W 100kHz MOSFET based experimental circuit.

  • An IGBT driver for serially connected pulse switching IGBTS was contructed and tested. The IGBT driver has ten output pulses with 1 ${\mu}ysec$ pulse width Its pulse repetition-rate can adjusted from 0 to 20 kHz. The output pulses was insulated from 10 kV high voltage by a pulse transformer. Their voltage amplitude are 18 V, voltage rising time 250 nsec., and voltage falling time 200 nsec when IGBT gates with 12 nF input capacitance are connected.

Comparisons of Traffic Collisions between Expressways and Rural Roads in Truck Drivers

  • Background: Truck driving is known as one of the occupations with the highest accident rate. This study investigates the characteristics of traffic collisions according to road types (expressway and rural road). Methods: Classifying 267 accidents into expressway and rural road, we analyzed them based on driver characteristics (age, working experience, size of employment), time characteristics (day of accident, time, weather), and accident characteristics (accident causes, accident locations, accident types, driving conditions). Results: When we compared the accidents by road conditions, no differences were found between the driver characteristics. However, from the accident characteristics, the injured person distributions were different by the road conditions. In particular, driving while drowsy is shown to be highly related with the accident characteristics. Conclusion: This study can be used as a guideline and a base line to develop a plan of action to prevent traffic accidents. It can also help to prepare formal regulations about a truck driver's vehicle maintenance and driving attitude for a precaution on road accidents.

  • The driver's speed control to the satellite's mission is required. Therefore, optimal control over the value of benefits is required. Driver to control the characteristics of the driver and the driver was analyzed. Experimental results based on the estimated parameters using the equations of motion and was passed to save the function. Using optimization techniques applied to estimate the proportional term gain was the result of the analysis.

  • In this paper, a driver system is designed and implemented to achieve 4-level gray scale CH TFEL(Thin Film ElectroLuminescent) flat panel display. To implement the driver system, commercial EL driver IC chips are used to apply high voltage pulses to the EL panel and a high voltage switching circuit is designed for the EL driver IC. A new method of reducing storage delay time of transistor is proposed to obtain a reliable switching circuit. The controller for EL driver and switching circuit is also designed. The designed driving scheme applicable to EL display with 4-level gray scale is based on the linear characteristics of brightness vs. frequency of AC TFEL. By experiment, it has been shown that the brightness of AC TEFL display with the implemented driving system is controlled by the level of gray scale.

온도 및 전류의 과도응답 제어가 가능한 SOA Driver에 관한 연구 (A Study on SOA Driver with Capability to Control Current and Temperature Transient Response)

  • In this paper, SOA Current and Temperature Driver which consisted of LabVIEW programming part capable of current and temperature transient response pattern design, DAQ module for analog voltage in&out, and voltage to current converting chips has realized. The output current(possible to 3A) from the Driver to SOA was clearly constant without ripple and also showed no variance until 1mA unit for a long time operation. The temperature of TEC took several seconds to reach a set temperature, and were maintained stably within ${\pm}^0.1{\circ}C$ for several hours. The proposed Driver can replace the previous high cost SOA Drivers for wavelength swept lasers fully and provides the convenience of transient response design capability for current and temperature.
