  • In this paper, a market share competition model for two firms with asymmetric conditions is considered with. In the model, the asymmetry between two firms is given by the difference of market shares In the existing market and the change of market share is supposed to be occurred only through pioneering a new market. Since the timing decision of market pioneering is based on the continuous time domain, a super game structure which has infinitely many numbers of subgames is employed for the modeling. In the course of equilibrium finding, we show that there exists no subgame-perfect pure strategy equilibrium In this game. So, we apply a mixed strategy concept and find a unique subgame-perfect equilibrium behavior strategy. As a result of equilibrium analysis, we know that the relative sizes of pioneering Incentives between two firms are varying with parameter conditions. However, the global speed of market pioneering is proven to be independent with the level of asymmetry between two firms.

  • In this article, the theory of fractional order two temperature generalized thermoelasticity is employed to study the wave propagation in a fiber reinforced anisotropic thermoelastic half space in the presence of moving internal heat source. The whole space is assumed to be under the influence of gravity. The surface of the half-space is subjected to an inclined load. Laplace and Fourier transform techniques are employed to solve the problem. Expressions for different field variables in the physical domain are derived by the application of numerical inversion technique. Physical fields are presented graphically to study the effects of gravity and heat source. Effects of time, reinforcement, fractional parameter and inclination of load have also been reported. Results of some earlier workers have been deduced from the present analysis.

  • This paper concerns about a study on dynamic responses of tracked vehicle on soft cohesive soil. For dynamic analyses of tracked vehicle, two different models were adopted, i.e. a single-body model and a multi-body model. The single-body vehicle model was assumed as a rigid body with 6-dof. The multi-body vehicle was modeled by using a commercial software, RecurDyn-LM. For the both models properties of cohesive soft soil were modeled by means of three relationships: pressure to sinkage, shear displacement to shear stress, and shear displacement to dynamic sinkage. Traveling performances of the two tracked vehicle models were compared through dynamic analyses in time domain.

  • This paper presents a tuning-free conditional integration anti-windup strategy for induction machine with Proportional-Integral (PI) type speed controller. The on/off condition of integral action is determined by the frequency domain analysis of machine torque command without a prior knowledge of set-point changes. There are no tuning parameters to be selected by users for anti-windup scheme. In addition, the dynamic performance of the proposed scheme assures a desired tracking response curve with minimal oscillation and settling time even in the change of operating conditions. This algorithm is useful in many high performance induction machine applications not to allow the oscillation and overshoot of speed/torque responses. The main idea can be extended to general applications such as chemical processes and industrial robots.

  • This paper presents an adaptive line coupler to match input impedance of the Power line Communication(PLC) modem between access impedance of the power line. This line coupler provides maximum signal power transmiting capability, high reliability. The structure of this coupler is simple and designed to make a easy and low cost. The proposed line coupler is suitable for Amplitude Shift Keying(ASK) or Phase Shift Keying(PSK) modem. To figure out our models, the analysis of the transmitting features of power line channel is performed in the time domain at the carrier frequency. As a result of this study, we present the values of capacitors in the capacitor bank and adaptive line coupler circuit.

  • An unknown linear time invariant plant with asymmetric oscillation in the output such as a static load disturbance. A saturation function nonlinear element is used to find the one point information in the frequency domain. An asymmetric self-oscillation caused by such as a static load disturbance saturation function feedback is analyzed. a new method to tune a PID controller based on the analysis is proposed in the presence of asymmetric oscillation. The proposed method does not require the knowledge of plant d.c. gain with an asymmetric oscillation in the plant output.

  • We numerically investigate by the finite-difference time-domain method the effects of surface termination on directional emission exiting a photonic crystal waveguide. The directed power and far-field beam profile for the original proposal [E. Moreno et al., Phys. Rev. B 69, 121402 (2004)] and its enhancement [S. K. Morrison et al., Appl. Phys. Lett. 86, 081110 (2005)] are computed for different values of some important parameters. We find another surface termination condition with a positive surface displacement in the structure of the original proposal which has a negative surface displacement. Our surface termination is more effective than the original structure, and nearly as effective as the termination for the enhancement, for directional emission. Besides, our termination is simpler than that for the enhancement. We confirm the effectiveness of directional emission from our termination in its far-field beam profile, radiation intensity distribution, and additionally the wave-vector space representation by the Fourier analysis.

  • It is essential to know exactly what the response of the seismograph is inclusive of characteristic of the seismic sensors before using it for detailed seismic study. This is because the recorded earthquake data can be more or less affected by the overall system and need to be corrected properly to the analysis`s best to obtain the right results. In this respect, two basic earthquake data processing techniques are introduced and applied, for validation purpose, to real data from KEPRI seismic monitoring system which were established for determining the site-specific characteristics of the earthquakes around the Nuclear Power Plants. One is conventional instrumental correction technique for velocity data and the other is for removing acausal ringing originate from using linear phase FIR filter. These techniques are all implemented in the time domain using digital filtering process and shows the desired results when applied to real earthquake data.

  • In this paper, we use the FDTD method to analyze crosstalk characteristics for high speed pulse signal on MTL(Multi-Transmission Line) in time domain. The FDTD results are compared to the results of SPICE modeling method and the experimental result. The FDTD method has higher accuracy of results than other methods, and it can analyze transmission characteristics of MTL regard to loss of conductor. We analyze crosstalk characteristics for pulse on MTL for lossless and loss case.

  • The Pseudodynamic test is a new experimental technique for simulating the earthquake response of structures or structural components in the time domain. It is especially efficient for testing structures that are too large, heavy or strong to be tested on a shaking table. But the obtained responses in the Pseudodynamic test are distorted by the experimental errors inevitably during control and measurement procedures. The studies are to investigate the effects of the experimental errors on the Pseudodynamic responses and apply a correction method to the Pseudodynamic testing algorithm. It is shown that the corrected responses using the Equivalent Energy Compensation Method are in a good correlation with the theoretical ones. Thus, the corrected Pseudodynamic responses could be reliable for evaluating the seismic performance of structural systems.
