This paper concerns about total dynamic analysis of integrated mining system. This system consists of vertical steel pipe, intermediate buffer station, flexible pipe and self-propelled miner. The self-propelled miner and buffer are assumed as rigid-body of 6-dof. Discrete models of vertical steel pipe and flexible pipe are adopted, which are obtained by means of lumped-parameter method. The motion of mining vessel is not considered. Instead, the motion of mining vessel is taken into account in form of various boundary conditions (e.g. forced excitation in slow motion and/or fast oscillation and so on). A terramechanics model of extremely cohesive soft soil is applied to the self-propelled miner. Hinged and ball constraints are used to define the connections between sub-systems (vertical steel pipe, buffer, flexible pipe, self-propelled miner). Equations of motion of the coupled model are derived with respect to the each local coordinates system. Four Euler parameters are used to express the orientations of the sub-systems. To solve the equations of motion of the total dynamic model, an incremental-iterative formulation is employed. Newmark-${\beta}$ method is used for time-domain integration. The total dynamic responses of integrated mining system are investigated.
In this study, we explore the use of ground penetrating radar (GPR) for the nondestructive survey of subsurface conduits, focusing on the challenges posed by multichannel environments. A key concern is the shadow regions created by conduits, which significantly impact survey results. The shadow regions, which are influenced by conduit position and diameter, hinder signal propagation, thereby making detection within these regions challenging. Using finite-difference time-domain numerical analysis, we examined the characteristics of conduit signals, which typically manifest in hyperbolic patterns. Particularly, we investigated three conduit arrangements: horizontal, vertical, and diagonal. Automatic gain control was applied to amplify the signals, enabling the analysis of variations in shadow regions and signal characteristics for each arrangement. In the horizontal arrangement, the proximity of the two conduits resulted in the emergence of a new hyperbolic pattern between the existing conduits. In the vertical arrangement, the lower conduit could be detected using hyperbolic signals on either side, but the detection was challenging when the upper conduit diameter exceeded that of the lower conduit. In the diagonal arrangement, signal characteristics varied based on the position of shadow regions relative to the detection range of the equipment. Asymmetrical signal patterns were observed when the shadow regions fell within the detection range, whereas the signals of the two conduits were minimally impacted when the shadow regions were outside the detection range. This study provides vital insights into accurately detecting and characterizing subsurface multichannel conduits using GPR-a significant contribution to the field of subsurface exploration and management.

The propagation properties of the high speed pulse signal in time domain using the equivalent circuits for the analysis by SPICE on the coupled microstrip lines are investigated. In this paper, the SPICE program is used for the crosstalk analysis on the coupled microstrip lines. The results of crosstalk of coupled microstrip lines compared to one by Branin and FDTD method. And the near-end and far-end crosstalk on coupled lines are analyzed for the square pulse and trapezoidal pulse. The results of this paper are apply To the determination for the geometric structure and the frequency of signal pulse in design of MIC and MMIC by the CAD program.
Wind-induced response behavior of long-span roof structures is very complicated, showing significant contributions of multiple vibration modes. The largest load effects in a huge number of members should be considered for the sake of the equivalent static wind loads (ESWLs). Studies on essential matters and necessary conditions of the universal ESWLs are discussed. An efficient method for universal ESWLs on long-span roof structures is proposed. The generalized resuming forces including both the external wind loads and inertial forces are defined. Then, the universal ESWLs are given by a combination of eigenmodes calculated by proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) analysis. Firstly, the least squares method is applied to a matrix of eigenmodes by using the influence function. Then, the universal ESWLs distribution is obtained which reproduces the largest load effects simultaneously. Secondly, by choosing the eigenmodes of generalized resuming forces as the basic loading distribution vectors, this method becomes efficient. Meanwhile, by using the constraint equations, the universal ESWLs becomes reasonable. Finally, reproduced largest load effects by load-response-correlation (LRC) ESWLs and universal ESWLs are compared with the actual largest load effects obtained by the time domain response analysis for a long-span roof structure. The results demonstrate the feasibility and usefulness of the proposed universal ESWLs method.
Since the Gyeongju earthquakes in 2016, there have been increased research interests in the areas of seismic design, building collapse, and rescue radar applications in Korea. Ground penetrating radar (GPR) is a nondestructive electromagnetic method that is used for underground surveys. To properly design ground penetrating radar that detects buried victims precisely, it is important to study electromagnetic wave propagation channel characteristics in advance. This work presents an electromagnetic propagation environment analysis of a trapped victim for GPR applications. In this study, we develop a realistic collapse model composed of layered reinforced concrete and a victim positioned horizontally. In addition, the effects of rebars and the distance between the radar antenna and target are investigated. The numerical analysis presents the electromagnetic wave propagation characteristics, including amplitude loss and phase difference, in the 450-MHz and 1,500-MHz frequency band, and it shows the electric field distribution in the environment.

This paper describes a statistical methods and perception test for extracting the parameters to be used for the synthesis-by-rule of Korean plosives. Formant synthesizer is chosen for the synthesis of the phonemes. Speech materials for the analysis consists of 72 CV monosyllables from the single male speaker. The analysis is done mainly focused on the variation of parameters in time and frequency domain, then perception tests are executed to estimate the effects of variations of the formant transitions.
This paper proposes an improved signal processing strategy for accurate feedwater flowrate estimation in nuclear power plants. It is generally known that ∼2% thermal power errors occur due to fouling Phenomena in feedwater flowmeters. In the strategy Proposed, the noises included in feedwater flowrate signal are classified into rapidly varying noises and gradually varying noises according to the characteristics in a frequency domain. The estimation precision is enhanced by introducing a low pass filter with the wavelet analysis against rapidly varying noises, and an autoassociative neural network which takes charge of the correction of only gradually varying noises. The modified multivariate stratification sampling using the concept of time stratification and MAXIMIN criteria is developed to overcome the shortcoming of a general random sampling. In addition the multi-stage robust training method is developed to increase the quality and reliability of training signals. Some validations using the simulated data from a micro-simulator were carried out. In the validation tests, the proposed methodology removed both rapidly varying noises and gradually varying noises respectively in each de-noising step, and 5.54% root mean square errors of initial noisy signals were decreased to 0.674% after de-noising. These results indicate that it is possible to estimate the reactor thermal power more elaborately by adopting this strategy.

In this study, a comparison study of flutter analysis for the AGARD 445.6 wing with wind turnnel test data has been conducted in the subsonic, transonic and supersonic flow regions. Nonlinear aeroelastic using FSIPRO3D which is a generalized user-friendly fluid-structure analyses have been conducted for a 3D wing configuration considering shockwave and turbulent viscosity effects. The developed fluid-structure coupled analysis system is applied for aeroelastic computations combining computational structure dynamics(CSD), finite element method(FEM) and computations fluid dynamics(CFD) in the time domain. MSC/NASTRAN is used for the vibration analysis of a wing model, and then the result is applied to the FSIPRO3D module. the results for dynamic aeroelastic response using different turbulent models are presented for several Mach numbers. Calculated flutter boundary are compared with the wind-tunnel experimental and the results show very good agreements.

Nonlinear flow-induced vibration characteristics of a generic missile wing (or control surface) are investigated in this study. The wing model has freeplay structural nonlinearity at its pitch axis. Nonlinear aerodynamic flows with unsteady shock waves are considered in the transonic flow region. To practically consider the effects of freeplay structural nonlinearity, the fictitious mass method (FMM) is applied to structural vibration analysis based on a finite element method (FEM). A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique is used for computing the nonlinear unsteady aerodynamics of all-movable wings. The aerodynamic analysis is based on the efficient transonic small-disturbance aerodynamic equations of motion using the potential-flow theory. To solve the nonlinear aeroelastic governing equations including the freeplay effect, a modal-based computational structural dynamic (CSD) analysis technique based on fictitious mass method (FMM) is used in time-domain. In addition, CSD and unsteady CFD techniques are simultaneously coupled to give accurate computational results. Various aeroelastic computations have been performed for a generic missile wing model. Linear and nonlinear aeroelastic computations have been conducted and the characteristics of flow-induced vibration are introduced.

To investigate the effect of stress wave propagation for crack tip, impact responses of two-dimensional plates with oblique cracks are investigated by a numerical method. In the numerical analysis, the finite element method is used in space domain discretization and the Newmark constant acceleration algorithm is used in time integration. According to the numerical results from the impact response analysis. it is found that the stress fields are bisected at the crack surface and the parts of stress intensity are moved along the crack face. The crack tip stress fields are yaried rapidly. The magnitude of crack tip stress fields are converted to dynamic stress intensity factor. Dynamic sress intensity factor appears when the stress wave has reached at the crack tip and the aspect of change of dynamic stress intensity factor is shown to be the same as the part of the flow of stress intensity.
