Evaluation of Residential Street by Pedestrain and Vehicle Occupancy (보행자.차량 점유율에 의한 주택지가로의 평가에 관한 연구)

  • This study focuses on the evaluation of the streets on residential areas. For this purpose, pedestrain and vehicle occupancy indicators on residential areas are proposed, and vehicle, pedestrain flow and status of on-street parking on residential streets are analyzed. Also, according to the suggested occupancy indicator, occupancy status of pedestrain and vehicle are identified. At the end, evaluation of residential streets are conducted. The suggested occupancy indicator is a quantitative indicator which can represent the traffic situation on street. It can also be represente din the same dimension among pedestrain, vehicle flow, packed vehicle. Also, occupancy indicator can be utilized for the allocation and evaluation of transportation modes on residential street. Except on-street parking during the day time, moving vehicle occupancy rate contains the more than 80 precent when it is estimated based on the vehicle flow and pedestrain only. As the streets on residential area are occupied by the pedestrain approximately 20 percent during the day time, it is identified quantitatively that the necessity of space for pedestrain.

  • The purpose of this study was to exam the activities by the distribution of time and space occupancy on their weekday and weekend. to study the space and labor segregation by sex. The sample population included 23 wives and their husbands(30-40 years old). The major findings of the research are as follows: First, it shows that wives' time use by activity was consistent with the space occupancy on weekday. Second, on weekend, wives was used to stay in living room most of time. Thirdly, husbands show the stereotype of time use on weekday, and substitute leisure time for labor time. Finally, on weekend, the wives and husbands have the joint time in the household labor or leisure activities.

  • Runway and taxiway is base facilities for aircraft take off and landing and runway capacity is one of major factor for airport capacity. Runway occupancy time is affect on the runway capacity. The identification of aircraft using taxiway by analysis of airport ground surveillance data and the measurement of pass time on the points is general method for the confirmation of the runway occupancy time. This study is runway occupancy time analysis of landing airplane using ADS-B message, in this study we surveyed landing aircraft runway occupancy time and analysis of serviced record using taxiway include rapid exit taxiway. The result of analysis is to confirm the different of landing direction and aircraft category on the same runway caused by structure of airport. Also the result of runway occupancy time analyzed data, it is base input data for the air transportation simulation.

  • Occupancy sensor is a efficient light control system which light on/off automatically and reduces the unnecessary power waste. From now the research on occupancy sensor is restricted to the selection of the appropriate place or sensor. Exist occupancy sensor changes the delay time by manually to the place or situation, so it is unreliable. The delay time can been changed by the average time of the occupied and the preset time, but it is not enough to reliable. In this paper, so to acquire the reliance the average and the standard deviation of the occupied time change the delay time automatically and protect the malfunction from the detector. And to embody it, AT89C52 microcontroller is adopted to the control circuit. It is verified by simulation and experiment results of output characteristic for randomized input.

Occupancy Control Scheme for Reordering Buffer at 3GPP ARQ (3GPP ARQ를 위한 재정렬 버퍼의 점유량 조절 방식)

  • 3GPP's RLC protocol specification adopted an error control scheme based on selective repeat ARQ. In 3GPP ARQ, distinctive windows are provide at transmitting and receiving stations so that those stations are prohibited to send or receive data PDU's out of window. An increase in window size enhances delay performance. Such an increase, however, raises the occupancy at reordering buffer, which results in a long reordering time. Aiming at suppressing the occupancy at reordering buffer, we propose a occupancy control scheme in this paper. In this scheme, a threshold is created in the receiving station's window and a data PDU out of the threshold (but within the window) is treated according to go back N ARQ. By the employment of the occupancy control scheme, the occupancy at the reordering buffer is apparently reduced, while the delay performance may be degraded due to the properties of go back N ARQ. We, thus, investigate the peak occupancy and mean delay performance by a simulation method. From numerical examples, we observe a trade-off in both performance measures and conclude that the peak occupancy is effectively reduced by setting a proper threshold under a constraint on mean delay performance.

  • A certain degree of energy saving can be possible by controlling the delay time of occupancy sensor. In this paper a control circuit is designed for automatic control of delay time setting appropriate to different situations using a digital counter, two latches and an adder. The delay time is controlled by adjusting the time constant of RC circuit through on-off control of switching devices according to adder output, which determines the base current level of switching devices. And from PSpice simulation it is verified to function properly.

Effects of Cell Residence Time Distributions in Cellular Mobile Communication Systems

  • We present a simulation result to the analysis of the effects of cell residence time distributions upon the expected channel occupancy time based on an analytic mobility model. Numerical examples show that exponential distribution provides upper and lower bound to the expected channel occupancy times of new calls and handoff calls. This fact reveals that the assumption of exponential distribution as the cell residence time distribution as the cell residence time distribution may over- or under-estimate cellular mobile systems.

Construction of Speed Predictive Models on Freeway Ramp Junctions with 70mph Speed Limit (70mph 제한속도를 갖는 고속도로 연결로 접속부상에서의 속도추정모형에 관한 연구)

  • From the traffic analysis, and model constructions and verifications for speed prediction on the freeway ramp junctions with 70mph speed limit, the following results were obtained : ⅰ) The traffic flow distribution showed a big difference depending on the time periods. Especially, more traffic flows were concentrated on the freeway junctions in the morning peak period when compared with the afternoon peak period. ⅱ) The occupancy distribution was also shown to be varied by a big difference depending on the time periods. Especially, the occupancy in the morning peak period showed over 100% increase when compared with the 24hours average occupancy, and the occupancy in the afternoon peak period over 25% increase when compared with the same occupancy. ⅲ) The speed distribution was not shown to have a big difference depending on the time periods. Especially, the speed in the morning peak period showed 10mph decrease when compared with the 24hours'average speed, but the speed did not show a big difference in the afternoon peak period. ⅳ) The analyses of variance showed a high explanatory power between the speed predictive models(SPM) constructed and the variables used, especially the upstream speed. ⅴ) The analysis of correlation for verifying the speed predictive models(SPM) constructed on the ramp junctions were shown to have a high correlation between observed data and predicted data. Especially, the correlation coefficients showed over 0.95 excluding the unstable condition on the diverge section. ⅵ) Speed predictive models constructed were shown to have the better results than the HCM models, even if the speed limits on the freeway were different between the HCM models and speed predictive models constructed.

Aiming at suppressing the occupancy at re-ordering buffer, we propose partial go back N scheme in this paper In the partial go back N scheme, the receiving station regards all data PDU's between the first (lowest sequence numbered) error-detected PDU and last (highest sequence numbered) error-detected PDU. By the employment of the partial go back N scheme, the occupancy at the re-ordering buffer is apparently reduced, while the delay and throughput performance may be degraded due to the remaining properties of go back N. We thus consider peak occupancy of re-ordering buffer, mean sojourn time at re-ordering buffer, mean delay time, and maximum throughput as measures to evaluate tile proposed scheme and investigate such performance by using a simulation method. From numerical examples, we observe a trade-off among performance measures and conclude that the partial go back N scheme is able to effectively reduce the occupancy of re-ordering buffer.
