  • A zinc oxide thin film was made by varying the deposition time on the silicon(110) substrate by using a radio frequency sputtering time of 60 minutes, 120 minutes and 180 minutes. As a result of analyzing the grain growth surface of the ZnO2 thin film using an X-ray diffraction apparatus, the directions of the main growth plane (002) and (103) planes of the thin film were significantly affected by the deposition time. As a result of observing the particle growth of the ZnO2 thin film through an electron scanning microscope, it was observed that in the initial stage of deposition of the ZnO2 thin film, an incubation time was required during which growth was stagnant, and then particle growth occurred again after a certain period of time. As a result of chemical analysis of the ZnO2 thin film, the increase in the deposition time did not change with the amount of oxygen in the ZnO2 thin film, but a change in the composition of Zn was observed, indicating that the deposition time of the thin film had an effect on the Zn component in the thin film.

  • Vacuum-assisted thermoforming is one of the critical steps for the successful application of film insert molding(FIM) to parts of complex shapes. If the thickness distribution of the formed film is non-uniform, cracking, deformation, warping, and wrinkling can easily occur at the injection molding stage. In this study, the effects of processing parameters, which include the film heating time, plug depth, plug speed and vacuum delay time, on film thickness distribution were investigated. It was found that the film thickness at the part sidewall decreases with increasing the film heating time and plug depth, but the thickness at the bottom was found to exhibit the opposite behavior. The film thickness of the sidewall was observed to increase at higher plug speed and vacuum delay time of 0 ~ 0.3sec.

  • To evaluate the relative time required to perform a CT(computed tomography) examination in a filmless versus a film-based system and helical versus nonhelical studies. Time and Motion studies were performed in 175 consecutive CT examinations. Images from 85 examinations were electronically transferred to a PACS, and 90 were printed to film. The time required to obtain and electronically transfer the images or print the images to film and make the current and previous studies available to the radiologists for interpretation was recorded. The time required for a radiological technologist to complete a CT examination was reduced by 43% with the PACS compared with the film-based system and nonhelical was reduced 10-20% with helical studies. This reduction was due to the elimination of a transfer and printing, such as the printing at window or level settings. The use of PACS can result in the elimination of time tasks for the radiological technologist, resulting in marked reduction in examination time. This reduction can result in decreased cost and increased productivity in PACS operation.

  • Film printing companies have many problems during a printing process. Most of all, even an insect or dirt stick to the transparent film may cause severe errors until the end of printing job, which means big economic damage to the company. To prevent some insect-dots or dirt-dots, we have to Inspect the total area of film. However, it is very difficult to inspect the film in real-time due to the high-speed of printing that usually more than 150 m/min. A hardware based approach, for example DSP-based approach can be the one of solution candidates, but the total cost and the complexity increases the very high-level. In this paper, we suggest a software based approach, using MMX technology, to inspect the film in real-time. By Many real-plant experiments, we can see the suggest approach is applicable for the inspection of food packaging film in real-time.

  • Architecture and Film have been interested in each other since 1895. This concern manifests various aspects and is continued up to now. If we examine into detail of relationship between film and architecture, those share the integration of time and space as the art of time and space. Film makes inexpressible time into space by showing the change of space in the issue that is the merger of time and space. Then, this is the issue of movement that compiling element was intervened. And the creative space of film which is the timely expression stimulates the person to experience whole form through spatial experience. Consequently, the architecture as an image maker must be developed through a research about film as an image creator. Also a discussion about film and architecture do not apply one to the other but must be focused on the mutual relationship.

  • Aluminum 1000 series alloy, a pure aluminum with excellent workability and weldability, is mainly used in the ship field. Aluminum alloy can combine with oxygen in the atmosphere and form a natural oxide film with high corrosion resistance. However, its corrosion resistance and durability are decreased when it is exposed to a harsh environment for a long period of time. For solving this problem, a porous oxide film can be formed on the surface using an anodizing treatment method, a typical surface technique among various methods. In this study, aluminum 1050 alloy was anodized for 2 minutes, 6 minutes, and 10 minutes. The structure and shape of the oxide film were then analyzed to determine the corrosion resistance according to the thickness of the oxide film that changed depending on working condition using 15 wt% NaCl. After it was immersed in NaCl solution for 1, 5, and 10 days, corrosion damage was observed. Results confirmed that the thickness of the oxide film increased as the anodization time became longer. The depth of surface damage due to corrosion became deeper when the film was immersed in the 15 wt% NaCl solution for a longer period of time.

  • Without the involvement of time in animation, it cannot be possible to create movement. Therefore, tine is the important element to create animation. In animation, the expression of the emotion of character is more complicate than the appearance. Time is one of element to use for express of the emotion. It can be divided two types of time as the real time and the animation time broadly. The real time has linear, irreversible and analogue form which is in our daily life. And the animation time has multi-direction, reversible, and digital form which can be detected in the movie. For the animation time, there are many types of time that are the running time, the production time, the subjective time, the objective time, the ambiguous time and the universal time etc. This study is to extend and enrich the express as film language through various types of times in animation. Time is one of important element that can be useful method for expressing many unique scenes in film art as film language.

  • In this study, silk sericin films were prepared using different extraction methods, and the molecular conformation of sericin was examined using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy with attenuated total reflection geometry. Additionally, the effect of the film side (air-facing side or plate-facing side) on the molecular conformation of the sericin films was investigated. Interestingly, the molecular conformation of the sericin film depended on the film side. The molecular conformation of air-facing side of the sericin film was significantly influenced by extraction solution and time. The ${\beta}$-sheet crystallization and the crystallinity index of the sericin film markedly increased with an increase in the extraction time in hot water. The order of the crystallinity indices for the sericin films obtained with different extraction solutions was as follows: citric acid solution > urea solution >> hot water. In contrast, no remarkable differences were observed in the molecular conformation of the plate-facing side of the sericin film after extraction in hot water for different time periods. Urea and citric acid solution extractions showed remarkably higher crystallinity indices for sericin than those obtained after hot water extraction. However, no significant differences were observed in the crystallinity index of sericin between urea and citric acid solution extraction in plate-facing side of the film.

  • This study was a preliminary investigation of the influence of surface characteristics of substrates on the detergency of particulate soil. A PET film was surface modified with NaOH and DMF for different times. The surface morphology of the film was scanned by AFM and the surface energies were calculated from the measured contact angles between several solutions and film based on a geometric mean and the Lewis acid base method. The surface morphology of the PET film treated with NaOH and DMF became more etched and swelled with an increased treatment time, respectively. The surface roughness and surface area of film treated with NaOH enlarged with increased treatment time. However, the coefficient of friction of film treated with NaOH and coefficient of friction, surface roughness, and surface area of film treated with DMF increased and then decreased with increased treatment time. The contact angle of film treated with DMF decreased with increased treatment time in water and surfactant solution; however, the effect of treatment time on the contact angle was different in both solutions for film treated with NaOH. By the treatment of PET film with NaOH and DMF, the polar group of the surface energy increased and the nonpolar group decreased; however, the change of total surface energy was not significant.
