  • In this paper, the finite element method is applied to find the flux distribution of the magnetic field in the end region of the tubular motor. In order to analyze two-dimensional flux distribution, the r-z domain to be analyzed is subdivided into 56 nodes, 84 elements. In the case of wt=O and .pi./2, the flux distribution is shifted to the edge with frequency (w) and time (t) increase in the edge and the air gap. It is proved that this study does fit the actual phenomena.

  • This paper considers a discrete-time queueing system with variable service capacity. Using the supplementary variable method and the generating function technique, we compute the joint probability distribution of queue length and remaining service time at an arbitrary slot boundary, and also compute the distribution of the queue length at a departure time.

  • The sizable electrical load of plug-in electric vehicles may cause a severe low-voltage problem in a distribution network. The voltage drop in a distribution network can be mitigated by limiting the power consumption of a charging station. Then, the charging station operator needs a method for appropriately distributing the restricted power to all plug-in electric vehicles. The existing approaches have practical limitation in terms of the availability of future information and the execution time. Therefore, this study suggests a heuristic method based on priority indexes for fairly distributing the constrained power to all plug-in electric vehicles. In the proposed method, PEVs are ranked using the priority index, which is determined in real time, such that a near-optimal solution can be obtained within a short computation time. Simulations demonstrate that the proposed method is effective in implementation, although its performance is slightly worse than that of the optimal case.

  • The velocity distribution of gas molecules from the experimental results was confirmed as the same with the Maxwell-Boltzmann's theoretical results within the experimental error. This study is on the realization of the Maxwell-Boltzmann's velocity distribution of gas molecules by the molecular dynamics(MD) method. The Maxwell-Boltzmann's velocity distribution of gas molecules is extremely important to confirm the equilibrium state because the properties of a thermodynamic system shall be obtained from the system's equilibrium configuration in the MD method. This study is the first trial in the successive researches to calculate the properties of a thermodynamic system by the computer simulations. We confirmed that the maxwell-boltzmann's velocity distribution is developed in some transient time after starting a simulation and dependent on the size of a system. Also it is found that the velocity distribution has no relation with an initial configuration of gas molecules.

  • Lately rainfall characteristics that it rains a lot in a short space of time often occurs. Because of this meteorological phenomena, the flow rate and concentration of initial rainfall for runoff and combined sewer overflows are changed. In the case of this inlet fluctuation, the flotation method at high surface loading rate is suitable for water quality management. the flotation method is able to meet the removal rate requirements of water public zone in 5 to 10 min which is irelatively short period. For assessment and diagonision of flotation method, A/S ratio is applied until now. But unfortunately, this has some limits for evaluation standard for certification and assessment of technical diagnosis and operation. This is why there is different efficiency in the bubble distribution at the same A/S ratio. The velocity and time of floating is changed by the different bubble distributions. The floating time affects the plant volume because the time factor make size dicision. Therefore the charateristics of bubble distribution and floating time at the same A/S ratio is necessary to apply to evaluation standard for certification and assessment of technical diagnosis and operation. For generalization of the method in certification and assessment, the characteristics of bubble distribution was studied. Until recently, using the optical device and shooting live video, there are some analysis technology of the floating factors. But this kind of technology is influenced by the equipment. with this level of confidence about the results, it is difficult to apply to generalize. According this reasons, this study should be applied on experiment generalization of method about measurement of relation between bubble distribution and floating time.

  • We propose the computation reduction method of real root method that is mainly used in the CELP (Code Excited Linear Prediction) vocoder. The real root method is that if polynomial equations have the real roots, we are able to find those and transform them into LSP. However, this method takes much time to compute, because the root searching is processed sequentially in frequency region. In this paper, to reduce the computation time of real root, we compare the real root method with two methods. In first method, we use the mal scale of searching frequency region that is linear below 1 kHz and logarithmic above. In second method, The searching frequency region and searching interval are ordered by each coefficient's distribution. In order to compare real root method with proposed methods, we measured the following two. First, we compared the position of transformed LSP (Line Spectrum Pairs) parameters in the proposed methods with these of real root method. Second, we measured how long computation time is reduced. The experimental results of both methods that the searching time was reduced by about 47% in average without the change of LSP parameters.

  • An analytical method has been presented for the study of the superplastic bulging process of sheet metal. Through this method, it is possible to obtain the optimum pressure-time curve for the superplastic forming and to predict the thickness distribution of bulged sheet metal with less computational cost than that by finite element analysis. Experiments have been performed to confirm the results of this analysis with Supral 150 sheets by adopting the computed optimum pressure-time curve. Good agreement between predictions and experimental data has been obtained for the bulged profile and its thickness distribution.

  • With the development of industry, the qualitical advancement of power is needed. Since it is placed in the end step of power system, the fault at the distribution system causes some users blackout directly. So if the fault occurs, quick restoration is very important subject and, for the reason, induction of the distribution automation system is now being progressed briskly. For the quick restoration of the faulted distribution system, the load shedding of the blackout-area must be followed, and the other problems like the shedded load, faulted voltage and the rest may cause other accident. Accordingly load shedding must be based on the precise calculation technique during the distribution system load flow(dist flow) calculation. In these days because of its superior convergence characteristic the Newton-Raphson method is most widely used. The number of buses in the distribution system amounts to thousands, and if the fault occurs at the distribution system, the speed for the dist flow calculation is to be improved to apply to the On-Line system. However, Newton-Raphson method takes much time relatively because it must calculate the Jacobian matrix and inverse matrix at every iteration, and in the case of huge load, the equation is hard to converge. In this thesis. matrix equation is used to make algebraical expression and then to solve load flow equation and to modify above defects. Then the complex matrix is divided into real part and imaginary part to keep sparcity. As a result time needed for calculation diminished. Application of mentioned algorithm to 302 bus, 700 bus, 1004 bus system led to almost identical result got by Newton-Raphson method and showed constant convergence characteristic. The effect of time reduction showed 88.2%, 86.4%, 85.1% at each case of 302 bus, 700 bus system 86.4%, and 1004 bus system.

  • Recently, various attempts are being done to apply off-line programming system to field of paint robot. But most commercial simulation softwares have problems that are slow simulation speed and not support various painting paramenters on simulation. This paper proposes enhanced paint simulation method for off-line programming system. For these, this method used the mathematical model of flux field from a previous research. The flux field has the flux distribution function, which reflects on the feature of paint spray. A previous research derived this flux distribution function for an integral function and calculated paint thickness function for an integral function. But if flux distribution function is defined as an integral function, it is inadequate to use for real-time simulation because a number of calculation is needed for estimation of paint thickness distribution. Therefore, we defined the flux distribution function by numerical method for reducing a mount of calculation for estimation of paint thickness. We derived the equation of paint thickness function analytically for reducing a mount of calculation from the paint distribution function defined by numerical method. In order to prove proposed paint simulation method this paper compares the simulated and measured thickness. From this comparison this paper show that paint thickness distribution is predicted precisely by proposed spray paint simulation process.
