A Novel Position Sensorless Speed Control Scheme for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drives

  • PMSMS (permanent magnet synchronous motors) are widely used in industrial applications and home appliances because of their high torque to inertia ratio, superior power density, and high efficiency. For high performance control, accurate informations about the rotor position is essential. Sensorless algorithms have lately been studied extensively due to the high cost of position sensors and their low reliability in harsh environments. A novel position sensorless speed control for PMSMs uses indirect flux estimation and is presented in this paper. Rotor position and angular velocity are estimated by the proposed indirect flux estimation. Linkage flux and magnetic field flux are calculated by the voltage equations and the measured phase current without any integration. Instead of linkage flux calculation with integral operation, indirect flux and differential magnetic field are used for the estimation of rotor position. A proper rejection technique fur current noise effect in the calculation of differential linkage flux is introduced. The proposed indirect flux detecting method is free from the integral rounding error and linkage flux drift problem, because differential linkage flux can be calculated without any integral operation. Furthermore, electrical parameters of the PMSM can be measured by the proposed TCM (time compression method) for soft starting and precise estimation of rotor position. The position estimator uses accurate electrical parameters that are obtained from the proposed TCM at starting strategy. In the operating region, a proper compensation method fur temperature effect can compensate fir the estimation error from the variation of electrical parameters. The proposed novel position sensorless speed control scheme is verified by the experimental results.

SOLVING PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL ALGEBRAIC EQUATIONS BY COLLOCATION AND RADIAL BASIS FUNCTIONS

  • In this paper, we propose a class of meshless collocation approaches for the solution of time dependent partial differential algebraic equations (PDAEs) in terms of a radial basis function interpolation numerical scheme. Kansa's method and the Hermite collocation method (HCM) for PDAEs are given. A sensitivity analysis of the solutions from different shape parameter c is obtained by numerical experiments. With use of the random collocation points, we have obtain the more accurate solution by the methods than those by the finite difference method for the PDAEs with index-2, i.e, we avoid the influence from an index jump of PDAEs in some degree. Several numerical experiments show that the methods are efficient.

UNIFORMLY CONVERGENT NUMERICAL SCHEME FOR A SINGULARLY PERTURBED DIFFERENTIAL-DIFFERENCE EQUATIONS ARISING IN COMPUTATIONAL NEUROSCIENCE

  • A parameter uniform numerical scheme is proposed for solving singularly perturbed parabolic partial differential-difference convection-diffusion equations with a small delay and advance parameters in reaction terms and spatial variable. Taylor's series expansion is applied to approximate problems with the delay and advance terms. The resulting singularly perturbed parabolic convection-diffusion equation is solved by utilizing the implicit Euler method for the temporal discretization and finite difference method for the spatial discretization on a uniform mesh. The proposed numerical scheme is shown to be an ε-uniformly convergent accurate of the first order in time and second-order in space directions. The efficiency of the scheme is proved by some numerical experiments and by comparing the results with other results. It has been found that the proposed numerical scheme gives a more accurate approximate solution than some available numerical methods in the literature.

  • In this article, we are interested in studying the fractional Sadik Transform and a combination of the method of steps that will be applied together to find accurate solutions or approximations to homogeneous and non-homogeneous delayed fractional differential equations with constant-coefficient and possible extension to time-dependent delays. The results show that the process is correct, exact, and easy to do for solving delayed fractional differential equations near the origin. Finally, we provide several examples to illustrate the applicability of this method.

  • The aim of this paper is to prove the existence of the global attractor of the Cauchy problem for a semilinear degenerate hyperbolic equation involving strongly degenerate elliptic differential operators. The attractor is characterized as the unstable manifold of the set of stationary points, due to the existence of a Lyapunov functional.

  • We introduce the systematization design method using similarity theory which is profitable in the compatability, the reduction of construction time and price. The design method can make us predict the characteristic experiment for the magnitude we desire as the expression equation applied continuously. We can induce the design sample the user demand with the verification of the data on optimum design previously. Therefore, in case of designing and developing the products, systematization design method is very useful for the standardization of the developed goods, compatability, the reduction of construction time and price. In this paper, we presented the analogical algorithms of systematization design using similarity theory, design factors and processing method of the restriction factors. Also, we analyzed the output voltage in terms of input voltage and displacement as choosing a differential transformer as the model.

OSEK/VDX Porting to the Two-Wheel Mobile Robot Based on the Differential Drive Method

  • In this paper, we propose an implementation of a real-time operating system for the two-wheel mobile robot. With this implementation, we have the ability to control the complex embedded systems of the two-wheel mobile robot. The advantage of the real-time operating system is increasing the reliability and stability of the two-wheel mobile robot when they work in critical environments such as military and industrial applications. The real-time operating system which was ported to this implementation is open systems and the corresponding interfaces for automotive electronics (OSEK/VDX). It is known as the set of specifications on automotive operating systems, published by a consortium founded by the automotive industry. The mechanical design and kinematics of the two-wheel mobile robot are described in this paper. The contributions of this paper suggest a method for adapting and porting OSEK/VDX real-time operating system to the two-wheel mobile robot with the differential drive method, and we are also able to apply the real-time operating system to any complex embedded system easily.

  • We study an age-dependent s-i-s epidemic model with spatial diffusion. The model equations are described by a nonlinear and nonlocal system of integro-differential equations. Finite difference methods along the characteristics in age-time domain combined with finite elements in the spatial variable are applied to approximate the solution of the model. Stability of the discrete periodic solution is investigated.

  • The transformer role is very important in power system operation and control; also its price is very expensive. Therefore many kinds of the efforts for transformer protection have been executed. So for as, current differential relay(87) has been mainly used for transformer protection. But current differential relaying method has several troubles as followings. Differential current can be occurred by transformers inrush current between winding1 and winding2 of transformer when transformer is initially energized. Also harmonic restrained element used in current differential relaying method is one of the causes of relays mal-operation because recently harmonics in power system gradually increase by power switching devices(SVC, FACTS, DSC, etc). Therefore many kinds of effort have been executed to solve the trouble of current differential relay and one of them is method using ratio of increment of flux linkages(RIFL) of the primary and secondary windings. This paper introduces a novel protective relay for power transformers using RIFL of the primary and secondary windings. Novel protective relay successfully discriminates between transformer internal faults and normal operation conditions including inrush and this paper includes real time test results using RTDS(Real Time Digital Simulator) for novel protective relay. A novel protective relay was designed using the TMS320C32 digital signal processor and consisted of DSP module. A/D converter module, DI/DO module, MMI interface module and LCD display module and developed by Xelpower co., Ltd.

인공위성 추적자료의 미분보정에 의한 궤도결정 (Orbit Determination from Tracking Data of Artificial Satellite Using the Method of Differential Correction)

  • 인공위성의 추적자료로부터 예비궤도를 결정하고 이것을 초기값으로 해서 계산한 관측치 (C) 와 실제의 관측치(O)의 차이가 최소가 될때까지 반복계산함으로써, 어떤 시각에 있어서 실제의 궤도에 가장 가까운 접융궤도 요소를 얻어내는 미분보정의 과정을 수행했다. 추적한 인공 위성은 TIROS-N계열 위성인 NOAA - 9이고 추척자료는 컴퓨터에 의한 프로그랭 추척을 위해서 TBUS의 평균궤도요소로부터 미리 계산한 예측자료와 위성으후부터 송신되는 1.707GHz의 HRPT신호를 전파연구소의 직경 5m인 자동추적안테나로 추적해서 얻은 실제 자료를 이용했다. 예비궤도의 결정은 추적 자료에 따라 Gauss 방법과 Herrick -Gibbs 방법을 사용했고 미분보정의 과정에 있어서 미분보정행렬의 각 원소들은 Escobal(1975)의 해석적인 방법과 f, g급수를 이용한 수치적인 방법으로 각각 구해서 그 결과를 비교해 보았다. 해석적인 방법파 수치적인 방법의 결과는 거의 일치하였고 각 시간간격에 따른 예비궤도가 다름에도 불구하고 미분보정된 궤도는 같은 값으로 수령했다.
