Light Control System For The Saving of Electric Energy (전기에너지 절약을 위한 조명제어시스템)

  • This paper represents the electric energy saving using light control system. Without Light Control System(LCS), it is very hard to classify the amount of electric energy saving for lighting, since it is determined by the end-user's preference in times. Typical LCS has an fixed algorithm to control each light's intensity by ON/Off Control, Step Control, or Dimming Control. We have studied the electric energy saving effect in a LCS equiped building with natural lighting. The electric power consumption at the peak power consumption time with LCS reduced up to 65% of the non-controled case.

  • The purpose of this paper to study on measuring method in technical progress. Technology is combination method of raw material and capital, land, labour. The first step to technical Progress is COBB-DOUGLAS production function, so technical progresses are important role in economic growth and development. General production function from Y=f(K, L, T) and COBB-DOUGLAS production function Y=${AK^I}{L^b}$ is first condition. Technical progress is saving of production factor In capital saving, labour saving, neutral saving. Marred Hicks Robinson has Insist on technical progress by each view of production factor, but, what is most excellent measuring method of technical progress\ulcorner I : productivity index method. II : Gross Production function method. Productivity method used in every products level in weight values, gross method function method used in production factor attributed to products. Above two measuring method has delicate problem in each input factor, substitution relation and production factor simultaneously linked each others This basic problem based on technical progress is not solubable in this time.

The computer power-saving system using DHCP (DHCP를 이용한 컴퓨터 절전 시스템)

  • It is possible that gain good effect for saving electric charges by power-saving education to organizer, instead of buying new energy saving computer in the company, school and public organization. But this kind of education needs time very much. And power management system for controling whole computer of organizer is released, but it is hard to set up. In this paper we prevent computers which do not have power shutdown software, from obtaining IP address by DHCP. So we induce organizer to setup power shutdown software.

Power Saving Algorithm based on Data Reuse in Tree Structured Wireless Sensor Networks (트리 구조 무선 센서 네트워크에서의 데이터 재사용 기반의 전력 절감 기법)

  • Due to limited size and limited battery lifetime of sensor node, one has to address the power saving issue in wireless sensor network. The existing power saving algorithm based on data reuse was proposed for the cluster structured wireless sensor network. We state the problem of existing power saving algorithm and propose new power saving algorithm for tree structured wireless sensor network. The proposed algorithm reduces power consumption by buffering the sensed data at the selected relay node for its data lifetime. The optimum buffering node is selected so that the power saving gain is maximized and at the same time, power consumption among sensor nodes are equally distributed in the network. With computer simulations, it is shown that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional algorithm in terms of power saving gain.

A Study of Qualitative Effects of Agricultural Water-Saving Education of Farmers (농업인 물절약 교육의 정성적 효과 연구)

  • Recently, alarming rates of climate change have amplified the importance of water conservation in the agricultural sector; emphasizing the implementation of an integrated approach as the principal water management strategy. As part of comprehensive measures to cope with drought in the agricultural and rural sectors, water-saving education models and pilot projects for farmers' education have been implemented since 2016, but these activities were launched as a one-time project in limited areas. Therefore, systematic and extensive efforts are required to highlight the site-specific and tangible benefits of water-saving education and public relations projects. As part of this study, educational sessions and surveys were conducted in the Yeoju-Icheon, Seosan-Taean, and Gyeongju areas to reflect the on-site applicability of the water-saving education model. Based on the survey of previous studies, a total of 16 water-saving effectiveness factors were developed and the effectiveness was derived for each factor. As a result of farmer education, the overall effectiveness evaluation score of 1.13 increased to 3.34, and the effectiveness of each factor was also improved. These water-saving education effectiveness factors can be used as basic data for determining and launching future policies or systems to improve the water-saving education of farmers. In addition, this study raises the need to prepare feasible related systems that can lead farmers to actively participate in water management and conservation and to promote systematic and continuous water conservation education and promotion policies.

Energy-Saving Distributed Algorithm For Dynamic Event Region Detection (역동적 이벤트 영역 탐색을 위한 에너지 절약형 분산 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we present a distributed algorithm for detecting dynamic event regions in wireless sensor network with the consideration on energy saving. Our model is that the sensing field is monitored by a large number of randomly distributed sensors with low-power battery and limited functionality, and that the event region is dynamic with motion or changing the shape. At any time that the event happens, we need some sensors awake to detect it and to wake up its k-hop neighbors to detect further events. Scheduling for the network to save the total power-cost or to maximize the monitoring time has been studied extensively. Our scheme is that some predetermined sensors, called critical sensors are awake all the time and when the event is detected by a critical sensor the sensor broadcasts to the neighbors to check their sensing area. Then the neighbors check their area and decide whether they wake up or remain in sleeping mode with certain criteria. Our algorithm uses only 2 bit of information in communication between sensors, thus the total communication cost is low, and the speed of detecting all event region is high. We adapt two kinds of measure for the wake-up decision. With suitable threshold values, our algorithm can be applied for many applications and for the trade-off between energy saving and the efficiency of event detection.

  • Wi-Fi STAs in power saving mode described in the Wi-Fi specification can deteriorate the system performance such as throughput, time delay when they receive data frames from a Wi-Fi AP. This problem is caused by data frame reception failure due to the channel state, and it increases re-transmissions. In this paper, we propose a modified power saving mode considering fairness of Wi-Fi system in order to solve the problem. By simulation, we showed that data throughput can be increased without time delay degradation if the proposed method restricting the number of packet transmission attempts and HARQ are used.

  • The research analyzes the arrangement of boiler and hot water header, the method of radiator pipe setting, hot water supply control, hourly heating situation of each room for underfloor radiant heating systems in Korea and suggests an alternative to improve to efficient heating method. One of the best options for install position of hot water distributor is under kitchen sink which is center point of all rooms, according to previous research of the energy saving strategies. When the radiator pipes are arranged to each individual room instead of bedrooms through livingroom and kitchen, it has energy saving effects. For rooms without occupancy according to a time period, hot water supply method should be intermittent heating rather than continuous heating. For this intermittent heating method, individual control of hot water supply is more practical, and it can lead to massive energy savings. The intermittent heating system has time-lag, so it is more effective in energy saving with mild and comfort condition if the spaces are preheated by automatic control equipment prior to required time.

Online Food Delivery App Distribution and Determinants of Jakarta's Gen Z Spending Habits

  • Purpose: Considering the COVID-19 pandemic and the increasing number of online food delivery applications (OFDA), this study aims to assess the distribution of the presence of Indonesian OFDA and to measure the factors that influence the spending habits of OFDA users. Research design, data and methodology: Two hundred and nine OFDA users from Jakarta's Generation Z were surveyed via a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling and SMART PLS 3.0. Results: OFDAs were introduced into Indonesia in the recent past with varying degrees of popularity determined by the number of downloads. Users' intention to use was not determined by the speed of the introduction of an OFDA. This study also reveals that previous experience of the service, the orientation of time and price savings had a significant effect on spending habits. A moderating role of the saving variable on time and price was not demonstrated. Conclusions: The results of the study suggest that, in COVID-19 pandemic conditions, the spending habits of Generation Z are not based on impulse, thrift, or extravagance. The pandemic shaped specific motivations in spending habits, namely prioritizing need. This study has limitations, including the small sample size and the use of internal variables.
