  • The resolved motion rate control (RMRC) is converting to Joint space trajectory from given Cartesian space trajectory. The RMRC requires the inverse of Jacobian matrix. Since the Jacobian matrix of the redundant robot is generally not square, the pseudo-inverse must be introduced. However the pseudo-inverse is not easy to be implemented on a digital computer in real time as well as mathematically complex. In this paper, a simple fuzzy resolved motion rate control (FRMRC) that can replace the RMRC using pseudo-inverse of Jacobian is proposed. The proposed FRMRC with appropriate fuzzy rules, membership functions and reasoning method can solve the mapping problem between the spaces without complexity. The mapped Joint space trajectory is sufficiently accurate so that it can be directly used to control redundant manipulators. Simulation results verify the efficiency of the proposed idea.

  • To assess the clinical value of time resolved imaging of contrast kinetics(TRICKS) MRA by comparison with conventional time of flight(TOF) MR angiography. Both TOF-MRA and TRICKS-MRA were performed in 17 patients with cerebrovascular disease and in 6 patients with brain tumor. Among 17 cerebraovascular patients, digital subtraction angiography(DSA) data were also obtained in 11 patients. TOF-MRA showed good spatial resolution but short in temporal resolution. Although TRICKS-MRA showed somewhat low spatial resolution, it showed superior temporal resolution by distinguishing vessel and tumor in all patients. Also, from the analysis of vessel-tumor relationship, TRICKS-MRA showed better performance than TOF-MRA. TRICKS-MRA makes it possible to image arterial, capillary and venous phase sequentially with very speedy manner and therefore, the clinical use of this method is highly suggestive for future use.

  • The changes in the dispersion of carbon black in liquid polyisoprene under shear flow with time have been investigated by time-resolved ultra small-angle X-ray scattering (USAXS) method. The analyses of USAXS profile immediately after the start of shear flow clarified that the aggregates of carbon black with a mean radius of gyration of 14 nm and surface fractal dimension of 2.5 form the fractal network structure with mass-fractal dimension of 2.9. After the application of the shear flow, the scattering intensity increases with time at the observed whole entire q region, and then the a shoulder appears at $q=0.005nm^{-1}$, indicating that the agglomerate is broken and becomes smaller by shear flow. The analysis by the Unified Guinier/Power-law approach yielded several characteristic parameters, such as the sizes of aggregate and agglomerate, mass-fractal dimension of agglomerate, and surface fractal dimension of the primary particle. While the mean radius of gyration of the agglomerate decreases with time, the mean radius of gyration of the aggregate, mass fractal dimension, and surface fractal dimension don't change with time, indicating that the aggregates peel off the surface of the agglomerate.

  • The simplified cumulant method was applied to diffraction data of $CClF_3$ to study the equilibrium molecular parameters over a range of temperatures. The molecular parameters of $CClF_3$ by the simplified cumulant method were compared with those from the traditional method. Also the instrumentation of picosecond time resolved electron diffraction (TRED) and the experimental details are described. The total experimental temporal resolution was discussed in terms of the electron pulse width. The TRED system was applied to study the molecular structures for $CClF_3$ at room temperature. The molecular structural parameters $CClF_3$ from TRED are compared with those from GED/RT. The molecular parameters ($r_e$)of bonded C-F and C-Cl for $CClF_3$ by simplified CA are 132.00(2) pm and 175.20(3) pm, respectively, by using GED/RT. From the results of TRED experiments $r_a$ for bonded C-F and C-Cl are 132.23(13) pm and 177.23(19) pm.

  • Recently there is an increasing interest in particulate matter emission because of new emission regulations, health awareness and environmental problems. It requires to improve particulate measurement techniques as well as to reduce soot emissions from combustion systems. As mentioned above, it is demanded that reduction techniques together with measurement techniques of exhausted particulate matters in combustion systems such as vehicles. However, measurement techniques of particulate matters should be prior to reduction techniques of that because it is able to know an increase and a decrease of exhausted particulate matters when measured particulate matters. Therefore, in this study, we report the measurement of soot primary-particle size using time-resolved laser induced incandescence (TIRE-LII) technique in laminar ethylene diffusion flame. As an optical method, laser induced incandescence is one of well known methods to get information for spatial and temporal soot volume fraction and soot primary particle size. Furthermore, TIRE-LII is able to measure soot primary particle size that is decided to solve the decay ate of signal S $(t_1)$ and S $(t_2)$ at two detection time. In laminar ethylene diffusion flame, visual flame height is 40 mm from burner tip and measurement points are height of 15, 20, 27.5, 30 mm above burner tip along radial direction. As increasing the height of the flame from burne. tip, primary particle size was increased to HAB(Height Above Burner tip)=20mm, and then decreased from HAB=27.5 mm to 30 mm. This results show the growth and oxidation processes for soot particles formed by combustion.

  • In this study, we measured the time-resolved optically stimulated luminescence (TR-OSL) of Paleolithic paleosol quartz and evaluated its lifetime. Considering the lifetime dependence on the preheating applied after irradiation, the radiation exposure, and the optical pulse stimulation, we found that the optimum measurement condition for determining the lifetime of paleosol quartz was the optical pulse stimulation at a dwelling time of $250{\mu}s$, pulse width of $10{\mu}s$, and sweep number of 100,000, without preheating after 100 Gy of irradiation. Based on the dependence of the lifetime on the reading temperature, the thermal quenching activation energy ${\Delta}E$ and thermal assistance activation energy $E_a$ were evaluated as $0.60{\pm}0.14eV$ and $0.053{\pm}0.029eV$, respectively. These values were in good agreement with those reported in the literature. Therefore, we concluded that the resulting kinetic parameters for paleosol quartz are quite reliable.

  • Understanding phosphorus metabolism in photosynthetic organisms is important as it is closely associated with enhanced crop productivity and pollution management for natural ecosystems (e.g., algal blooming). Accordingly, we exploited highly time-resolved metabolic responses to different levels of phosphate deprivation in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, a photosynthetic model organism. We conducted non-targeted primary metabolite profiling using gas-chromatography time-of-flight mass spectrometric analysis. Primarily, we systematically identified main contributors to degree-wise responses corresponding to the levels of phosphate deprivation. Additionally, we systematically characterized the metabolite sets specific to different phosphate conditions and their interactions with culture time. Among them were various types of fatty acids that were most dynamically modulated by the phosphate availability and culture time in addition to phosphorylated compounds.

  • We have measured photoluminescence (PL) and time-resolved PL in doped-GaAs. As increasing doping concentration, the PL spectra of n-type GaAs shift to higher energies while the PL spectra of p-type GaAs shift to lower energies than the bandgap of the undoped GaAs. The contribution of the Burstein-Moss effect overrules the band-gap narrowing in n-type GaAs, contrary to p-type GaAs. The PL rise time and decay time become shorter as increasing doping concentration. The PL rise and decay time in doped-GaAs depend on the type of majority carriers and their concentrations, which imply that the carrier-carrier interaction plays an important role in the energy relaxation processes.

  • Two chiral stationary phases (CSPs) based on (3,3'-diphenyl-1,1'-binaphthyl)-20-crown-6 bonded covalently to silica gel were applied for the first time to the resolution of racemic vigabatrin and its analogue ${\gamma}$-amino acids and the resolution results were compared to those on the commercially available Crownpak CR(+) based on (3,3'-diphenyl-1,1'-binaphthyl)-20-crown-6 coated dynamically onto octadecylsilica gel. While vigabatrin was not resolved at all on Crownpak CR(+), it was resolved quite well on the two CSPs. Among four vigabatrin analogue ${\gamma}$-amino acids, only two were resolved on Crownpak CR(+), but three were resolved on the CSP (CSP 1) containing residual silanol groups and all of four were resolved on the CSP (CSP 2) containing residual silanol group-protecting n-octyl groups. The improved lipophilicity in CSP 2 was proposed to be responsible for its superiority to CSP 1 for the resolution of vigabatrin and analogue ${\gamma}$-amino acids. In addition, the composition of aqueous mobile phase was found to affect the chiral recognition behaviors for the resolution of vigabatrin and analogue ${\gamma}$-amino acids on CSP 2.

  • Fluorescence rise and decay curves of carotenoids were measured in solutions and in pigment protein complexes with a femtosecond time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy. For linear carotenoids, the S$_2$ lifetimes showed the maximum value around n = 9-10. The conjugation of a keto-carbonyl group shortened the S$_2$lifetime and prolonged the S$_1$lifetime. The excitation relaxation dynamics within carotenoids and the excitation energy transfer kinetics from carotenoids to chlorophylls are discussed as a function of molecular structure of carotenoids.
