  • This paper presents a novel and direct dead time compensation method of the 3 phase inverter using space vector pulse width modulation(SVPWM) topology. In the turn on time calculation of the effective voltage, the dead time effect is directly compensated according to the current direction of the midium voltage reference. Since the turn on time of the effective voltage vector is affected by the dead time, the loss time is compensated to turn on time of the effective voltage vector. And the dead time is added to the calculated voltage vector switching times according to the current direction. For the more effective compensation, the direction of the midium phase current is considered by the practical direction and voltage drops in the power devices. The proposed method can compensate the dead time which is considered feedback error or direction of middle phase current without coordinate transform in added controller. The proposed dead time compensation scheme is verified by the computer simulation and experiments of 3 phase R L load.

  • This study was attempted to Kinematical characteristics of the Endo $360^{\circ}$El-grip Swing on the horizontal bar. To do this, we selected and analyzed the performance of two athletes who did Endo $360^{\circ}$El-grip Swing in the horizontal bar competition of male artistic gymnastic in the 22nd Universiad Games 2003 Daegu. We drew the conclusions from the kinematical factors that were came out through analyzing three-dimensional cinematography of the athletes' movements, by using two video cameras. In point of analyzing the actual competition situation, it is expected that gymnastics and coaches have the effective informations, and the following conclusion had resulted. 1. When performing Endo $360^{\circ}$El-Grip, the average for entire required time was $1.93{\pm}0.06sec$. The average for descent phase time was $0.24{\pm}0.02sec$, ascent phase time was 0.22${\pm}0.07sec$, connecting phase time was $0.87{\pm}0.07sec$, and El-Grip phase time was $0.61{\pm}0.02sec$. The descent phase need short period of time but however to have a stable performance, ensuring ascent and connecting phase time are needed. El-Grip phase need short period of time to have a stable re-grasp. 2. To have a convenient preparation for El-Grip in descent and ascent phase, lowering CM, and ease up in sway and plunge from the High Bar would make descent and ascent even more faster and would have increase effect in trunk rotation. 3. In descent and ascent phase, if shoulder angle and arm slope is dwindling then it would effect rotation angle so might risk it from hitting a Bar when putting legs in and out. 4. In connecting phase, it requires some time to show stable performance when El-Grip phase is continued by using hip angle which would make trunk rotation angle bigger and make descent and ascent time slower. 5. In El-Grip phase, when doing motions like hand standing. using hip angle more than maximum would make CM even faster and it is stable position while performing.

  • A phase-shifting projection moire method particularly intended for high-speed three-dimensional shape reconstruction of diffuse objects is presented. Emphasis is on realization of phase-shifting fringe analysis in projection moire topography using a set of line grating pairs designed to provide different phase shifts in sequence. Further a time-integral fringe capturing scheme is devised to remove undesirable high frequency original grating patterns in real-time without time-consuming software image processing. Finally the performances of the proposed method are discussed with measurement results.

  • The growth of T. novellus in auto trophic and geterotrophic media was studied to determine the time required for cells to enter stationary phase and relative percentage of ribosomal proteins. When T. novellus was grown autotrophically, growth proceeded at a slow rate characteristic of autotrophs and did not enter log phase until the end of the first day. Logarithmic growth proceeded for 3-4 days at which time the cells entered the stationary phase. In particular, logarithmic growth was accompanied by decreasing pH of culture media and in the stationary phase the pH levelled off at 6.0, a decrease of 1.6 pH value compared to original pH of media. The pH decrease was greatest during log phase when cells oxidized thiosulfate to $H_{2}$$SO_{4}$. The doubling time was about 26h. In heterotrophic media growth proceeded at a much faster rate and cells entered stationary phase 20-22h after inoculation. The doubling time was 3h. The protein content of the ribosomes in T. novellus grown heterotrophically was 4.2% greater than those from the organism grown autotrophically.

  • Spherical phospholipid-bilayers, vesicles, were prepared using the layer-by-layer double emulsion technique, which allows the bilayer to be formed asymmetrically. On the outer layer of the vesicles, the phospholipase D (PLD) reacted to convert phosphatidylcholine (PC) to phosphatidic acid (PA). The reaction induced the curvature change of the vesicles, which eventually led to rupture. The response time from the time of PLD injection to the time of rupture was measured against different vesicle curvatures and the outer layer phase, using the fluorescence intensity change of a pH-sensitive dye encapsulated within the vesicles. The effect of the vesicle curvature on the response was observed to be more significantly dramatic at the solid phase, compared to the liquid phase. Furthermore, in the solid phase, the response time was faster for 80 and 155 nm vesicles and, slower for 605 nm vesicles than similarly sized vesicles in the liquid phase vesicles. This difference in the response time was thought to result from the configuration determined by the phase difference and the PLD behavior.

  • Resident time of the centrifugal extractor for organic phase extraction using a height controlled separator weir and a divert plate is the important factor that affects significantly the chemical material extraction and the productivity in the chemical and mechanical processes. In this paper, it describes the design of the device for extraction of an organic phase from radioactive wastes, and considers phase separating weir and divert disk, both being designed to be adjustable in their positions, for effectively separating an organic phase. A height-adjustable separating weir unit used for separating the organic phase from the aqueous phase using a phase separating weir and designed to control the height of the separating weir as desired so as to allow the weir to be positioned at a boundary layer between two separated phases. The centrifugal extractor controls satisfactorily the mixed reaction time of two phases within the separator regardless of the variations of the mixing ratio of the two phases and the rotating speed of the extractor, is designed to be adjustable in its position in the vertical direction, thus allowing the user to appropriately select the mixed reaction time of the two phases within the extractor as desired. From development of a centrifugal extractor, it can effectively recover such usable elements, and preferably reducing the output quantity of radioactive wastes.

  • This study describes the accuracy improvement of the estimated angle using phase averaging in phase-comparison monopulse algorithm. In addition, to compensate the time-delay due to the phase averaging, we propose the time-delay compensation algorithm which uses the derivative of the estimated angle. These derivative is calculated by the curve fitting method. Using the real radar interferometer, we have verified that the phase averaging and time-delay compensation algorithms are effective in real-time signal processing application.

  • This study was peformed to investigate the phase change temperature, the supercooling, the maintenance time of liquid phase and the change rate of volume of TMA 30 $wt\% clathrate compound with additives. TMA 30 $wt\% clathrate compound with additive was cooled at heat source temperature of $-6^{circ}C$. The additives are ethylene glycol and chloroform. Their concentration are 0.1$wt\% respectively. The experimental results showed that the phase change temperature was not affected by additives and this was average $5.3^{circ}C$. Also the supercooling and the maintenance time of liquid phase were decreased by additives. Especially, the average value of supercooling showed by $8.8^{circ}C$ and the maintenance time of liquid phase was by 19 minutes in the case of chloroform 0.1$wt\%. Additionally, the average change rate of volume showed by $1.26{\~}1.31\%$ according to additives and the volume was decreased by the phase change from liquid to solid.

  • In this paper, Dual PFD(Phase Frequency Detector) with improved phase locking time is proposed. The proposed PFD consists of positive and negative edge triggered D flip-flop. In order to confirm the characteristics of proposed PFD, HSPICE simulations are performed using a 0.25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS process. As a result of simulations, the proposed PFD has a characteristic of fast phase locking time with dead zone free.

  • We describe a comb-mode resolving spectroscopic technique by direct time-domain phase correction of unstable interferograms obtained from loosely locked two femtosecond lasers. A low-cost continuous wave laser and conventional repetition rate stabilization method were exploited for locking carrier and envelope phase of interferograms, respectively. We intentionally set the servo control at low bandwidth, resulting in severe interferograms' fluctuation to demonstrate the capability of the proposed correction method. The envelope phase of each interferogram was estimated by a quadratic fit of carrier peaks to correct timing fluctuation of interferograms in the time domain. After envelope phase correction on individual interferograms, we successfully demonstrated 1 Hz linewidth of RF comb-mode over 200 GHz optical spectral-bandwidth with 10-times signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) enhancement compared to the spectrum without correction. Besides, the group delay difference between two femtosecond pulses is successfully estimated through a linear slope of phase information.
