Ti and Ti based hydrogen storage alloys have been thought to be the third generation of alloys with a high hydrogen capacity, which makes it difficult to handle because of high reactivity. In order to solve the problem, the activation of a wide range of hysteresis of hydriding/dehydriding and without degradation of hydrogen capacity due to the hydriding/dehydriding cycle have to be improved in order to be aplied. Ti-Cr alloys have a high capacity about 0.8 wt.% in an ambient atmosphere. When the Ti-Cr alloys are added to Nb and Ta elements, they formed a laves phase in the alloy system. The Nb element was expected to make easy diffuse hydrogen in the Ti-Cr storage alloy, which was a catalytic element. In this study, the Ti-Nb-Cr ternary alloy was prepared by melt spinning. As-received specimens were characterized using XRD (X-ray Diffraction), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) with EDX (Energy Dispersive X-ray) and TG/DSC (Thermo Gravimetric Analysis/Differential Scanning Calorimetry). In order to examine hydrogenation behavior, the PCI (Pressure-Composition-Isotherm) was performed at 293, 323, 373 and 423 K.
Hydrogen and hydrogen energy have been recognized as clean energy sources and high energy carrier. Mg and Mg alloys are attractive hydrogen storage materials because of their lightweight and low cost materials with high hydrogen capacity (about 7.6 wt.%). However, the commercial applications of the Mg hydrides are currently hinder by its high absorption/desorption temperature, and very slow reaction kinetics. However, Ti and Ti based hydrogen storage alloys have been thought to be the third generation of alloys with a high hydrogen capacity, which makes it difficult to handle because of high reactivity. One of the most methods to develope kinetics was addition of transition metal. Therefore, Mg-Ti-Cr-Nb alloy was fabricated to add TiCrNb by hydrogen induced mechanical alloying. TiCrNb systems have included transition metals, low operating temperatures and hydrogen storage materials. As-received specimens were characterized using X-ray Diffraction analysis (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Thermo Gravimetric analysis/Differential Scanning Calorimetry (TG/DSC). $Mg-TiCr_{10}Nb$ systems were evaluated for hydrogen kinetics by Sievert's type Pressure-Composition-Isotherm (PCI) equipment. The operating temperature range was 473, 523, 573 and 623 K.

Purpose: To investigate the feasibility of TI-201 SPECT with intra coronary injection (lC-I) in the detection of viable myocardium, we have performed SPECT imaging after direct intracoronary injection of TI-201 and images were compared with those of stress-reinjection (Re-I) SPECT. Methods: Fourteen coronary artery disease patients (male 11, mean age 54 years) who had myocardial infarction or demonstrated left ventricular wall motion abnormality on echocardiography were enrolled. Three mCi of TI-201 was injected into both coronary arteries during angiography and images were acquired between 6- and 24-hour after injection. Reinjection imaging with 1 mCi of TI-201 was performed at 4-hour after adenosine stress imaging with 3 mCi of TI-201. Images were interpreted according to 4-grade visual scoring system (grade 0-3). Segments with mild to moderated uptake (${\leq}$grade 1), and upgraded more than one score with reinjection, and were defined as viable myocardium. Results: Image quality was poor in two cases with IC-I. Numbers of non-viable segments were 60 (23.8%) with IC-I, and 38 (15.1%) with Re-I, respectively. Overall agreement for perfusion grade per myocardial segment in each IC-I and Re-I was 76.5%. Overall agreement for viable segment between IC-I and Re-I was 90.5%. Only one out of 38 segments interpreted as non-viable with Re-I were interpretated as viable with IC-I. And 23 out of 214 segments interpreted as viable with Re-I were interpreted as non-viable with IC-I. Conclusion: Intracoronary TI-201 SPECT seemed to be not advantageous over stress-rest reinjection imaging in the assessment of myocardial viability, mainly due to low count statistics at 6-hour or 24-hour delayed time points. The feasibility of intracoronary TI- 201 SPECT is considered to be limited.
Multi-period low-emissivity (low-e) filters based on [TiO$_2$|Ti|Ag|TiO$_2$] layer structure were designed and fabricated by a RF magnetron sputtering method. Optical, structural, chemical, and electrical properties were investigated with various analytical tools. Interface layers consisting of Ag, Ti, and O were observed next to Ag layers by Rutherford backscattering spectrometry (RBS) analysis. The results show that Ti layers of ~ 1.8 nm protect the Ag layers from oxidation better than those of ~ 1 nm and the optical spectra of the filter with thicker Ti layers are in agreement with the simulated one. The average transmittance of a low-e filter with thicker Ti layers is reduced and the sheet resistance is slightly increased due to the increased Ti thickness.

In this work, we developed the 0-3 type piezoelectric composite to incorporate the advantages of both ceramic and polymer. The PVDF-PZT composites were fabricated with various mixing ratio by 3-roll mi11 mixer. The composite solutions were coated on ITO bottom-electrode deposited on PET (polyethylene terephthalate) polymer film by the conventional screen-printing method. After depositing the top-electrode of silver-paste, 4kV/mm of DC field was applied at $120^{\circ}C$ for 30min to poling the 0-3 composite film. The value of $d_{33}$ was increased as the PZT weight percent was increases. But the $g_{33}$ value showed the maximum at 65 wt% of PZT powder.

Resistance random access memory (ReRAM) is a promising candidate for next-generation nonvolatile memory because of its advantageous qualities such as simple structure, superior scalability, fast switching speed, low-power operation, and nondestructive readout. We investigated the resistive switching behavior of tantalum oxide that has been widely used in dynamic random access memories (DRAM) in the present semiconductor industry. As a result, it possesses full compatibility with the entrenched complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor processes. According to previous studies, TiN is a good oxygen reservoir. The TiN top electrode possesses the specific properties to control and modulate oxygen ion reproductively, which results in excellent resistive switching characteristics. This study presents fully room temperature fabricated the TiN/$TaO_x$/Pt devices and their electrical properties for nonvolatile memory application. In addition, we investigated the TiN electrode dependence of the electrical properties in $TaO_x$ memory devices. The devices exhibited a low operation voltage of 0.6 V as well as good endurance up to $10^5$ cycles. Moreover, the benefits of high devise yield multilevel storage possibility make them promising in the next generation nonvolatile memory applications.
Different sizes of Si powder and milling medium materials (steel and partially stabilized zirconia (PSZ)) were used to synthesize $Ti_3Si$ and $TiSi_2$ by mechanical aollying (MA) of Ti-25.0.at.%Si and Ti-66.7at.% Si powder mixtures. the formation of each titanium silicide did not occur even after 360 min of MA of as-re-ceived Si and Ti powder mixtures due to the lack of homogeneity. $Ti_3Si$, however, was synthesized after 240 min of MA of Ti and 60 min-premilled Si powder mixture. ${\alpha}-TiSi_2$ and $TiSi_2$ were produced by jar milling of Ti and 60 min-premilled Si powder mixture for 48 hr and high -energy PSZ ball-milling in a steel vial for 360 min. The formation of each titanium silicide was characterized by a slow reaction rate as the reactants and product(s) coexisted for a certain period of time. The formation of $Ti_3Si$ and $TiSi_2$ and the reaction rates appeared to be influenced by the Si particle size, the homogeneity of the powder mixtures and the milling medium materials.
Titanium scrap was re-melted and refined by using a DC-ESR (Direct Current Electro Slag Remelting) apparatus. A graphite rod was used as an anode. The used slag was $CaF_2-TiO_2-CaO$ slag system. The effect of slag composition on the shape and oxygen content of re-melted ingot was studied. The titanium ingot was produced very well from the $CaF_2-TiO_2$ slag system, and the oxygen content of the ingot was less than that of titanium scrap. The addition of CaO into $CaF_2-TiO_2$ slag system made the bad shape of titanium ingot. The oxygen content of the ingot was also higher than that of titanium scrap.
