수소 감지 성능 향상을 위한 Pd/TiO2 분말에서의 Al 도핑 효과 (Al Doping Effect of Pd/TiO2 for Improved Hydrogen Detection)

  • $TiO_2$ oxide semiconductor is being widely studied in various applications such as photocatalyst and photosensor. Pd/$TiO_2$ gas sensor is mainly used to detect $H_2$, CO and ethanol. This study focus on increasing hydrogen detection ability of Pd/$TiO_2$ in room temperature through Al-doping. Pd/$TiO_2$ was fabricated by the hydrothermal method. Contacting to Aluminum (Al) foil led to Al doping effect in Pd/$TiO_2$ by thermal diffusion and enhanced hydrogen sensing response. $TiO_2$ nanoparticles were sized at ~30 nm of diameter from scanning electron microscope (SEM) and maintained anatase crystal structure after Al doping from X-ray diffraction analysis. Presence of Al in $TiO_2$ was confirmed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy at 73 eV. SEM-energy dispersive spectroscopy measurement also confirmed 2 wt% Al in Pd/$TiO_2$ bulk. The gas sensing test was performed with $O_2$, $N_2$ and $H_2$ gas ambient. Pd/Al-doped $TiO_2$ did not response $O_2$ and $N_2$ gas in vacuum except $H_2$. Finally, the normalized resistance ratio ($R_{H2on}/R_{H2off}$) of Pd/Al-doped $TiO_2$ increases about 80% compared to Pd/$TiO_2$.

환원/침탄공정에 의한 TiC/Co 복합분말 합성 (Synthesis of TiC/Co Composite Powder by the Carbothermal Reduction Process)

  • Ultra-fine TiC/Co composite powder was synthesized by the carbothermal reduction process without wet chemical processing. The starting powder was prepared by milling of titanium dioxide and cobalt oxalate powders followed by subsequent calcination to have a target composition of TiC-15 wt.%Co. The prepared oxide powder was mixed again with carbon black, and this mixture was then heat-treated under flowing argon atmosphere. The changes in the phase, mass and particle size of the mixture during heat treatment were investigated using XRD, TG-DTA and SEM. The synthesized oxide powder after heat treatment at 700$^{\circ}C$ has a mixed phase of TiO$_2$ and CoTiO$_3$ phases. This composite oxide powder was carbothermally reduced to TiC/Co composite powder by the solid carbon. The synthesized TiC/Co composite powder at 1300$^{\circ}C$ for 9 hours has particle size of under about 0.4 $\mu$m.

고상법에 의한 100 nm BaTiO3 분말의 합성 (Synthesis of 100 nm BaTiO3 by Solid-state Reaction)

  • $BaTiO_3$ powder was synthesized by the solid-state reaction of fine $BaTiO_3$ and $TiO_2$ raw materials. Fine grinding media of 50 and 300 microns were used for obtaining fine particulate mixture of $BaTiO_3$ and $TiO_2$ with high homogeneity. Effect of the size of grinding media on the synthesis mechanism of $BaTiO_3$ was discussed on the basis of the particulate morphology and thermogravimetry data for the mixture powders. By using the finer grinding media, $BaTiO_3$ was formed at the lower temperature and the particle size with the relatively narrower distribution could be obtained. $BaTiO_3$ powder with the average size of 100 nm was synthesized by the solid reaction in vacuum atmosphere.

볼밀을 이용한 TiO2/WO3 복합체 제조 및 광촉매 특성 (Photocatalysis of TiO2/WO3 Composites Synthesized by Ball Milling)

  • Composites of P25 $TiO_2$ and hexagonal $WO_3$ nanorods are synthesized through ball-milling in order to study photocatalytic properties. Various composites of $TiO_2/WO_3$ are prepared by controlling the weight percentages (wt%) of $WO_3$, in the range of 1-30 wt%, and milling time to investigate the effects of the composition ratio on the photocatalytic properties. Scanning electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy are performed to characterize the structure, shape and size of the synthesized composites of $TiO_2/WO_3$. Methylene blue is used as a test dye to analyze the photocatalytic properties of the synthesized composite material. The photocatalytic activity shows that the decomposition efficiency of the dye due to the photocatalytic effect is the highest in the $TiO_2/WO_3$ (3 wt%) composite, and the catalytic efficiency decreases sharply when the amount of $WO_3$ is further increased. As the amount of $WO_3$ added increases, dye-removal by adsorption occurs during centrifugation, instead of the decomposition of dyes by photocatalysts. Finally, $TiO_2/WO_3$ (3 wt%) composites are synthesized with various milling times. Experimental results show that the milling time has the best catalytic efficiency at 30 min, after which it gradually decreases. There is no significant change after 1 hour.

PVA를 이용한 Solution-Polymerization 합성법에 의하여 제조된 Mullite-Cordierite 복합체의 소결특성 (Characteristic of Sintering of Mullite-Cordierite Composite by a Solution-Polymerization Route Employing PVA)

  • PVA론 이용한 solution-polymerization법에 의해 mullite싸 cordierite 및 mullite-cordierite 복합분말을 합성한 실험 결과를 바탕으펀, 소결조제로서 $TiO_2$를 액상 첨가한 후 mullite-cordierite 합성분말을 제조하고 그때의 소결특성을 조사하였다. 각 조성에 대해 $1300^{\circ}C$에서 하소한 후 planetary mill로 4시간 분쇄를 행하여 합성분말을 준비하였다. 이 합성분말을 사용하여 cordierite의 분해가 일어나지 않는 $1450^{\circ}C$로 소결을 행하였다. 그 결과, mullite $100\%$인 조성에서는 소결시간에 관계없이 원활한 소결이 이루어지지 않았으나, cordierite의 양이 증가함에 따라 상대밀도가 $98\%$ 이상으로 증가하며 소결성이 향상되어졌다 또한 소결시간이 증가함에 따라 mullite와 cordierite의 비율이 50 : 50인 조성의 경우, 16시간 소결하였을 때 복합체치 치밀화로 인해 190MPa의 강도값과 $3.07{\times}10^{-6}/^{\circ}C$의 열팽창계수값을 나타내었다. 하지만 그 이상의 조성에In-1는 cordierite로 인한 액상의 과다생성으로 인해 소결특성은 좋지 않았다. 소결조제로서의 $TiO_2$ 첨가 영향에 대한 조사에서도 $TiO_2$의 함량이 증가함에 따라 mullite의 주상으로의 성장자 cordierite의 액상 증가가 더 빠르게 일어남이 확인되었지만, 이 때문에 $5wt\%$에서는 오히려 특성값이 저하됨이 확인되었다.

화학적 공정을 이용한 Y2Ti2O7 분말과 후막 제조 및 특성 (Fabrication and Characterization of Y2Ti2O7 Powder and Thick Film by Chemical Processing)

  • $Y_2Ti_2O_7$ nanoparticles (0.3 mol%) have been successfully synthesized by the co-precipitation process. The samples, adjusted to pH7 with ammonia solution as catalyst and calcined at $700{\sim}900^{\circ}C$, exhibit very fine particles with close to spherical shape and average size of 10-30 nm. It was possible to control the size of the synthesized $Y_2Ti_2O_7$ particles by manipulating the conditions. The $Y_2Ti_2O_7$ nanoparticles were coated on a glass substrate by a dipping coating process with inorganic binder. The $Y_2Ti_2O_7$ solution coated on the glass substrate had excellent adhesion of 5B; pencil hardness test results indicated an excellent hardness of 6H. The thickness of the thick film was about $30{\mu}m$. Decomposition of MB on the $Y_2Ti_2O_7$ thin film shows that the photocatalytic properties were excellent.

코어-쉘 구조를 갖는 BaTiO3@Fe 나노섬유의 합성 및 전자파 흡수 특성 (Synthesis and Electromagnetic Wave Absorbing Property of BaTiO3@Fe Nanofibers with Core-Shell Structure)

  • $BaTiO_3$-coated Fe nanofibers are synthesized via a three-step process. ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ nanofibers with an average diameter of approximately 200 nm are first prepared using an electrospinning process followed by a calcination step. The $BaTiO_3$ coating layer on the nanofiber is formed by a sol-gel process, and a thermal reduction process is then applied to the core-shell nanofiber to selectively reduce the ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ to Fe. The thickness of the $BaTiO_3$ shell is controlled by varying the reaction time. To evaluate the electromagnetic (EM) wave-absorbing abilities of the $BaTiO_3@Fe$ nanofiber, epoxy-based composites containing the nanofibers are fabricated. The composites show excellent EM wave absorption properties where the power loss increases to the high frequency region without any degradation. Our results demonstrate that the $BaTiO_3@Fe$ nanofibers obtained in this work are attractive candidates for electromagnetic wave absorption applications.

부분 공침법에 의한 $(Zr_{0.08}Sn_{0.2})TiO_4$ 분말합성 및 유전특성 (Preparations of $(Zr_{0.08}Sn_{0.2})TiO_4$ Dielectric Powders by Coprecipitation of $(Zr^{4+}, Ti^{4+})-Hydroxides in the Presence of SnO2 Particles)

  • (Zr, Sn)TiO4 powders were prepared in 0.05~0.13 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ by coprecipitating (Zr4+, Ti4+)hydroxide on SnO2 particles and followed by calcination at 90$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 h. They sinter to 95% of relative density at 140$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 h. and shows dielectric constant, $\varepsilon$r=37.5 and quality factor, Qxf(GHz)=46,000. With 3 mol% of ZnO it sinters to rel=97.5%, $\varepsilon$r=39 and Qxf(GHz)=40,050 at 135$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 h., but raising sintering temperature to 140$0^{\circ}C$ deteriorates quality factor, relative density and microstructure with developing second phase.

양극산화법을 통해 제조한 IrO2-RuO2 촉매를 포함하는 고성능 수전해 산소발생용 TiO2 나노튜브 전극 (The TiO2 based electrode consisting binary catalysts which is prepared by anodization for water oxidation application)

  • $TiO_2$는 우수한 화학적 및 물리적 안정성 때문에 수전해 장기간 사용에 적합한 전기화학 전극으로 여겨진다. 큰 표면적을 갖는 $TiO_2$를 제조하기 위한 수많은 방법 중 양극산화(anodization)는 비교적 간단하고 저렴한 공정으로 인하여 매우 실용적인 방법으로서 알려져 있다. 특히, 고도로 정렬 된 $TiO_2$ 나노튜브($TiO_2$ NTs) 의 경우에는 분말상과 달리 전극제조를 위해 추가적인 접착제를 필요하지 않다. 그러나, $TiO_2$는 일반적으로 절연 특성을 나타내기 때문에 전극의 활용을 위해서는 본질적으로 촉매의 사용이 불가피하다. 다수의 전기 촉매 중, $IrO_2$$RuO_2$는 수전해 분야에 잘 알려진 산화 촉매이다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 특유의 높은 종횡비 때문에 $TiO_2$ 나노튜브에 전기 촉매를 균일하게 도핑하는 것은 많은 어려움이 따른다. 이를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 $RuO_2$를 도핑하기 위한 단일공정 $TiO_2$ 양극산화 기술이 보고된 바 있다. 본 연구에서는 2원 촉매($IrO_2$$RuO_2$)를 $TiO_2$ 나노튜브에 도핑하기 위한 단일공정 양극산화 기술에 대하여 연구하였다. 전구물질로써 $KRuO_4$($RuO_2$ 전구체)와 IrOx 나노입자(IrOx NPs, $IrO_2$ 전구체)를 사용하였다. 특히, IrOx를 나노 입자는 $IrCl_3$로부터 중간 매체로 합성된다. IrOx는 단일공정 양극산화 중에 $TiO_2$ 나노튜브 상에 도핑 가능한 이온 형태인 $IrO_4$-로 전환될 수 있다. 제조된 시료는 열처리 후 바로 전극으로 사용되었으며 SEM, XPS, TEM, ICP-OES 등으로 정성, 정량 분석을 수행하였다. LSV와 EIS를 통해 전기화학적 성능 평가가 이루어졌으며, LSV를 통해 포집한 기체는 가스 크로마토그래피를 사용하여 정량분석한 후 그 효율을 측정하였다.
