  • Let R be a ring and n a fixed non-negative integer. $\cal{TI}_n$ (resp. $\cal{TF}_n$) denotes the class of all right R-modules of FGT-injective dimensions at most n (resp. all left R-modules of FGT-flat dimensions at most n). We prove that, if R is a right $\prod$-coherent ring, then every right R-module has a $\cal{TI}_n$-cover and every left R-module has a $\cal{TF}_n$-preenvelope. A right R-module M is called n-TI-injective in case $Ext^1$(N,M) = 0 for any $N\;{\in}\;\cal{TI}_n$. A left R-module F is said to be n-TI-flat if $Tor_1$(N, F) = 0 for any $N\;{\in}\;\cal{TI}_n$. Some properties of n-TI-injective and n-TI-flat modules and their relations with $\cal{TI}_n$-(pre)covers and $\cal{TF}_n$-preenvelopes are also studied.

Corrosion Behavior of TiN Ion Plated Steel Plate(II)-Effects of Ni and Ni/Ti interlayers- (TiN 이온 플레이팅한 강판의 내식성에 관한 연구 (II)-Ni 및 Ni-Ti 하지코팅의 영향-)

  • The effect of interlayer coating of Ni and Ti on corrosion behavior was studied in TiN ion plated steel plate. Interlayer coating was carried out in a single and bi-layer to a various thickness combination prior to final TiN coating of $2\mu\textrm{m}$. Corrosion behavior was evaluated by anodic polarization test in 1N H2SO4 as well as salt spray test. Porosity of each coating was also tested by using SO2 test. Corrosion resistance was improved with increasing the thickness of Ni interlayer coating and Ni-Ti interlayer coating markedly enhanced the corrosion resistance. Ni/Ti interlayer coating of $2\mu\textrm{m}$/2$\mu\textrm{m}$ prior to $2\mu\textrm{m}$ TiN coating decreased the corrosion current density of active range by an order of 4 and that of passive range by an order of 1. This improvement was associated with the retardation of corrosive agent penetration with increasing coating thickness and inherent corrosion resistance of Ni and Ti interlayers, Ni/Ti interlayers coating were also very effective in improvement of corrosion resistance under salt atmosphere.

The effect of deposition conditions on the adhesion strength of TiN multilayer by D. C. magnetron sputtering (D. C. 마그네트론 스퍼터링에 의한 증착조건이 TiN다층박막의 밀착력에 미치는 영향)

  • The characteristics and adhesion strength of TiN layer deposited by D. C. magnetron sputtering were investigated. Three types of TiN layers were deposited on STS304 stainless steel. Scratch tests were performed to determine the effect of deposition temperature, the thickness of coated TiN layer and the titanium inter-layer on the adhesion strength. TiN multilayer with titanium inter-layer showed the highest critical load in the deposition temperature range of $25^{\circ}C$ to $300^{\circ}C$. Adhesion strength of TiN multilayer with titanium inter-layer was raised from 15N to 20N by raising deposition temperature from $25^{\circ}C$ to $400^{\circ}C$. Adhesion strength was raised from 18N to 38N by increasing the thickness of outer layer of TiN multilayer from 2.1 $\mu\textrm{m}$ to 9.5 $\mu\textrm{m}$.

Tool Geometry for Improving Tool-Life in Turning of STS 304 (STS 304의 선삭에서 공구수명 향상을 위한 공구형상)

  • The austenitic STS 304 stainless steel was turned to clarify the effects of tool geometry on the tool wear. The wear of TiN-TiCN-TiC-TiAlN coated tungsten carbide tool was the smallest, exhibiting larger wear in the order of Si-Al-O-N ceramic, TiN coated tungsten carbide, TiN-TiCN-TiN coated tungsten carbide, TiC-TiN cermet and M20 tungsten carbide tools at the same cutting conditions. The S-type tool of M20 with large approach angle showed the longest tool life of all tools used in this tests due to preventing the groove wear of the side cutting edge. The wear of the S-type tool with the rake angle of 15$^{\circ}$became smaller than with that of -5$^{\circ}$, but the tool with the nose radius of 0.8mm did not perform much better with increasing the rake angle.

  • The effect of tool geometry on the tool wear in turning the austenitic stainless steel, STS 304 was investigated. The wear of TiN-TiCN-TiC-TiAlN coated tungsten carbide tool was the smallest, showing larger wear in the order of Si-Al-O-N ceramic, TiN coated tungsten carbide, TiN- TiCN- TiN coated tungsten carbide, TiC-TiN cermet and M20 tungsten carbide tools at the same cutting conditions.   • 아크로를 이용하여 제작한 NdF $e_{12-x}$ $Ti_{x}$ (1 .leq. x .leq. 2) 합금의 상분석 결과 이들 합금은 ThM $n_{12}$ 구조의 경자성상(1-12상) 과 반강자성의 F $e_{2}$Ti 및 연자성의 .alpha. -Fe 등으로 구성되며, x=1.3 인 NdF $e_{10.7}$ $Ti_{1.3}$ 조성에서 단상에 가까운 ThM $n_{2}$ 구조가 얻어짐이 밝혀졌다. 한편, 합금중의 1-12 상은 50 .mu. m - 100 .mu. m 의 사각주 형태로 생성되며, FeTi은 1-12상의 결정립계에 고립된 입자의 형태로 존재한다. NdF $e_{10.7}$ $Ti_{1.3}$ 합금을 질화처리할 경우 단위포의 체적, 자화, 이방성자장 및 큐리온도가 증가하며, 이합금을 500 .deg. C 에서 15분간 질화처리한 NdF $e_{10.7}$ $Ti_{1.3}$ $N_{x}$ 의 비포화자화, 이방성자장 및 큐리온 도는 각각, .sigma. $_{s}$ =128 A $m^{2}$/kg $H_{A}$=6400 kA/m (80 kOe) 및 Tc=470 .deg. C로 질화처리 전에 비하여 크게 증가한다.크게 증가한다. 증가한다.

A Study on Pitting Resistance of TiN Film Coated on Inconel 600 by CPP Test in High Temperature NaCl Solution (nconel 600위에 증착된 TiN 박막의 고온 NaCl 수용액에서의 CPP 실험에 의한 핏팅저항성의 연구)

  • Pitting corrosion of TiN film deposited on Inconel 600 by plasma assisted chemical vapor deposition (PACVD) was investigated. Cyclic potentiodynamic polarization (CPP) tests were conducted in order to determine the pit nucleation potentials, Enp, of the TiN-deposited sample and the bare Inconel 600 in deaerated NaCl solution at 25, 135 and 20$0^{\circ}C$. The effects of the TiN film thickness, the solution temperature and the Cl- concentration on Enp were studied. Enp of the TiN-deposited sample which had the film thickness above 1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ were higher than those of the bare Inconel 600 by 300~600mV at all the solution temperatures, implying the pitting resistance improvement of the TiN film. The morphologies of the pits generated after immersion test were examined with a scaning electron microscopy. The higher was the solution temperature, the more corrosion products, mainly composed of Cr and Ni oxides, were formed.

Effects of HA/TiN Coating on the Electrochemical Characteristics of Ti-Ta-Zr Alloys (Ti-Ta-Zr합금의 전기화학적 특성에 미치는 HA/TiN 코팅의 영향)

  • Electrochemical characteristics of Ti-30Ta-xZr alloys coated with HA/TiN by using magnetron sputtering method were studied. The Ti-30Ta containing Zr(3, 7, 10 and 15wt%) were 10 times melted to improve chemical homogeneity by using a vacuum furnace and then homogenized for 24hrs at $1000^{\circ}C$. The specimens were cut and polished for corrosion test and coating, and then coated with HA/TiN, respectively, by using DC and RF-magnetron sputtering method. The analyses of coated surface and coated layer were carried out by using optical microscope(OM), field emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM) and X-ray diffractometer(XRD). The electrochemical characteristics were examined using potentiodynamic (-1,500 mV~ + 2,000 mV) and A.C. impedance spectroscopy(100 kHz ~ 10 mHz) in 0.9% NaCl solution at $36.5{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. The microstructure of homogenized Ti-30Ta-xZr alloys showed needle-like structure. In case of homogenized Ti-30Ta-xZr alloys, a-peak was increased with increasing Zr content. The thickness of TiN and HA coated layer showed 400 nm and 100 nm, respectively. The corrosion resistance of HA/TiN-coated Ti-30Ta-xZr alloys were higher than that of the non-coated Ti-30TaxZr alloys, whic hindicate better protective effect. The polarization resistance($R_p$) value of HA/TiN coated Ti-30Ta-xZr alloys showed $8.40{\times}10^5{\Omega}cm^2$ which was higher than that of non-coated Ti-30Ta-xZr alloys.

  • Tensile properties of hard coating material, TiN, were evaluated using micro-tensile testing system. TiN has been known as a hard coating material commonly used today. Micro-tensile testing system consisted of a micro tensile loading system and a micro-ESPI(Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry) system. Micro-tensile loading system had a maximum load capacity of 500mN and a resolution of 4.5 nm in stroke. TiN thin film $1{\mu}m$ thick was deposited on the Si wafer pre-deposited of $Si_3N_4$ film substrate by the closed field unbalanced magnetron sputtering (CFUBMS) process. Three kinds of micro-tensile specimen with the respective width of $50{\mu}m$, $100{\mu}m$ and $500{\mu}m$ were fabricated by MEMS process. The mechanical properties including tensile strength and elastic modulus were determined using the micro-tensile testing system and compared by those obtained by nano-indentation

Preparation of TiN by Chemical Vapor Deposition (기상반응법에 의한 질화티타늄 제조)

  • TiN은 기상반응법으로 티타늄판과 질소가스의 질화반응에 의해 제조되었다. $\delta$-TiN은 약 1100-140$0^{\circ}C$의 온도 범위에서만 형성되는데 반해, 110$0^{\circ}C$이하의 온도에서는 $\varepsilon$-TiN 상도 관찰할 수 있었다. $\delta$-TiN의 미소정도값은 3000$\pm$300kg/m$m^2$였고, 격자상수는 0.4226$\mu\textrm{m}$였다. 가스의 유동속도가 0.7$\ell$/min의 속도이하에서는 확산과정에 의해 지배됨을 알 수 있었다. 활성화에너지가 110$0^{\circ}C$이상에서는 67.6Kcal/mol이었고 110$0^{\circ}C$이상에서는 13.9Kcal/mol이었던 것으로 보아 반응메커니즘이 110$0^{\circ}C$를 기점으로 변한다는 것을 명백히 관찰할 수 있었다. 그리고 증착속도가 확산과정에 의해 지배되는 영역에서 TiN의 증착속도는 전체 유량의 제곱근에 비례하였다.
