New lead-free piezoelectric ceramics $0.96[\{Bi_{0.5}(Na_{0.84}K_{0.16})_{0.5}\}_{1-x}La_x(Ti_{1-y}Nb_y)O_3]-0.04SrTiO_3$ (BNKT-ST-LN, where $x=y=0.00{\leq}(x=y){\leq}0.015)$ were synthesized using the conventional solid-state reaction method. Their crystal structure, microstructure, and electrical properties were investigated as a function of the La and Nb (LN) content. The X-ray diffraction patterns revealed the formation of a single-phase perovskite structure for all the LN-modified BNKT-ST ceramics in this study. The temperature dependence of the dielectric curves showed that the maximum dielectric constant temperature ($T_m$) shifted towards lower temperatures and the curves became more diffuse with an increasing LN content. At the optimum composition (LN 0.005), a maximum value of remnant polarization ($33C/cm^2$) with a relatively low coercive field (22 kV/cm) and high piezoelectric constant (215 pC/N) was observed. These results indicate that the LN co-modified BNKT-ST ceramic system is a promising candidate for lead-free piezoelectric materials.

High-temperature oxidation of a Ni-based superalloy was analyzed with samples taken from gas turbine blades, where the samples were heat-treated and thermally exposed. The effect of Cr/Ti/Al elements in the alloy on high temperature oxidation was investigated using an optical microscope, SEM/EDS, and TEM. A high-Cr/high-Ti oxide layer was formed on the blade surface under the heat-treated state considered to be the initial stage of high-temperature oxidation. In addition, a PFZ (γ' precipitate free zone) accompanied by Cr carbide of Cr23C6 and high Cr-Co phase as a kind of TCP precipitation was formed under the surface layer. Pits of several ㎛ depth containing high-Al content oxide was observed at the boundary between the oxide layer and PFZ. However, high temperature oxidation formed on the thermally exposed blade surface consisted of the following steps: ① Ti-oxide formation in the center of the oxide layer, ② Cr-oxide formation surrounding the inner oxide layer, and ③ Al-oxide formation in the pits directly under the Cr oxide layer. It is estimated that the Cr content of Ni-based superalloys improves the oxidation resistance of the alloy by forming dense oxide layer, but produced the σ or µ phase of TCP precipitation with the high-Cr component resulting in material brittleness.

Microstructures and dielectric properties of (Sr$\_$1-x/Ca$\_$x/) TiO$_3$-0.006Nb$_2$O$\_$5/ (0.05$\leq$x$\leq$0.2) boundary layer ceramics were investigated. The samples fired in a reducing atmosphere(N$_2$) were painted on the surface with CuO paste for the subsequent grain boundary diffusion, and then annealed at 1100$^{\circ}C$ for 2 hrs. The metal oxide of CuO infiltrated by thermal diffusion from surface of sample presents continuously in not grain but only grain boundary, and makes up thin boundary phase. The SEM photo, and EDAX revealed that CuO was penetrated rapidly into the bulk along the grain boundaries during the annealing. The average grain sizes is continuously increased as the content of substitutional Ca is increased from 5[mol%] to 15[mol%], but the average grain size of the sample with content of 20[mol%] Ca is slightly decreased. In the samples with content of 10∼15[mol%] Ca, excellent dielectric properties were obtained as follows; dielectric constant <25000, dielectric loss <0.3[%], and capacitance change rate as a function of temperature <${\pm}$10[%], respectively. All samples in this study exhibited dielectric relaxation with frequency as a functior of the temperature.

(Pb. La)TiO$_3$ thin films were fabricated by sol-gel Processing and spin-coated on the Pt substrate. The spin-coated PLT films were sintered at 75$0^{\circ}C$ for 5min by rapid thermal ann La content dependence of the electrical properties of the PLT thin films are discussed. Wit La mole% from 20 to 36mo1e%. the dielectric constant of the PLT thin films decreased f 570. P-E hysteresis loops changed from ferroelectric to paraelectric. and the charge storage charging time decreased. The Curie Point decreased with increasing La content. The leak density also decreased and La 36mo1% species shows mood characteristics less than 10- electric field 500 (KV/cm) Because of the broad range of composition-controlled ferroelectric PLT thin films are suitable for memory application.
We have studied on the preparation of $TiCo_xFe_{1-x}$(x=0.50~1.00) system alloy, the characteristics of $TiCo_xFe_{1-x}$(x=0.50~1.00) system alloy by X-ray diffractometer (XRD), pressure composition temperature (PCT) curve, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the $H_2-N_2$ gas mixture separation of $TiCo_xFe_{1-x}$(x=0.50~1.00)- stainless steel (SS) composite membranes. The formation of $TiCo_xFe_{1-x}$(x=0.50~1.00) system alloys with cubic crystal same as TiCo was confirmed by X-ray diffractometer. $TiCo_xFe_{1-x}$(x=0.50~1.00) system alloys showed the hysteresis at $120^{\circ}C$. As the Fe content of $TiCo_xFe_{1-x}$(x=0.50~1.00) system alloys increased, the hysteresis was increased both range x=0.90~1.00 and x=0.55~0.60, and the range x=0.55~0.90 gave decreased hysteresis. $TiCo_{0.55}Fe_{0.45}$ alloy was the one showed the lowest hysteresis among them. The lowest value of hydrogen permeation pressure of $TiCo_xFe_{1-x}$(x=0.50~1.00)-SS composite membrane was $TiCo_{0.55}Fe_{0.45}$-SS composite membrane with the value of 2.5 atm at $120^{\circ}C$; otherwise, $TiCo_{0.90}Fe_{0.10}$-SS composite had the highest pressure value among the membranes with the value of 10 atm. $TiCo_{0.55}Fe_{0.45}$-SS composite membrane was the best to separate the $H_2-N_2$ gas mixture excellently among the $TiCo_xFe_{1-x}$(x=0.50~1.00)-SS composite membranes since $TiCo_{0.55}Fe_{0.45}$ had the least hysteresis, and hydrogen permeation pressure was the lowest with value of 2.5 atm.

To obtain the fundamental data on the nutritional value of protein for fresh meat, it was per- formed the distribution of Tl(trypsin indigestible substrates) and the apparent in vitro protein digestibility in 8 species of dark-fleshed fishes and8 species of white-fleshed fishes which were consumed in Korea popularly. It was also investigate the changes in VBN and TBA value during frozen storage at $-10^{\circ}C$on the purpose of assaying the antinutritional factors that affect on apparent in vitro protein digestibility or Tl forming. Tl content in dark-fleshed fishes were varied with their species, ranged from 0.02 to 0.17 mg/g. using the method by Hamerstrand, while that in white-fleshed fishes was almost same, ranged from 0.10 to 0.26 mg/g. For all the fresh fish samples, however, the apparent in vitro protein digestibility were showed the value from 83 to 83%. In comparison with the parts of pacific mackerel, viscera had the most abundant Tl content as much as 0.3m g/g, while a trace was noted for skin and dark muscle had more Tl content than ordinary muscle based on the method by Hamerstrand. The apparent in vitro protein digestibility for all samples was dropped but the changes of VBN and TBA were retested the similar tendency with the increasing Tl content during frozen storage at $-10^{\circ}C$. Therefore, it could be concluded that Tl contbnt and apparent in vitro protein digestibility were affected by its freshness and fat oxidation and that, especially, fat was assumed to play an important role on apparent in vitro protein digestibility.
$(1-x)SiO_2-(x)TiO_2$ composite fibers with various compositions of $TiO_2$ were prepared by electrospinning their sol-gel precursors of titanium (IV) iso-propoxide (TiP), and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). The surface morphology and structure of sintered composite fibers were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), simultaneous thermogravimetric analysis-differential scanning calorimetry (TGA-DSC) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). As the content of $TiO_2$ in $(1-x)SiO_2-(x)TiO_2$ system was increased the average diameter of composite fibers was proportionally increased. Also, the transformation of $TiO_2$ from anatase to rutile form was inhibited by the highly dispersed $TiO_2$ around $SiO_2$ particles up to $0.6SiO_2-0.4TiO_2$ composite fibers even after calcination at $1000^{\circ}C$. The photocatalytic activity of $SiO_2-TiO_2$ composite fibers was examined for the methylene blue (MB) decomposition which was confirmed using UV-vis/DRS spectra. The experiments demonstrated that the MB in aqueous solution was successfully photodegraded using $SiO_2-TiO_2$ composite nanofibers under UV-visible light irradiation.

(Ba$_{0.6-x}$Sr$_{0.4}$Ca$_{x}$)TiO$_3$(x=1.10,0.15,0.20) specimens were fabricated by the solid state reaction method and then the structural and dielectric properties as a function of he composition ratio and sintering temperature were studied. As a result of the differential thermal analysis(DTA), exothermic peak was observed at around 102$0^{\circ}C$ due to the formation of the polycrystalline perovskite phase. The BSCT(50/40/10) specimen sintered at 150$0^{\circ}C$ showed the highest average grain size(18.25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$). The Curie temperature and dielectric constant at room temperature decreased with increasing Ca content. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the BSCT(50/40/10) specimen, sintered at 145$0^{\circ}C$, were about 4324 and 0.972% at 1KHz, respectively.ively.
Hydroxyapatite(HA)/TiO$_2$ composite powders were prepared by mixing of spherical TiO$_2$ (10-15 nm, 500 nm) and needle-shaped HA (50-70 nm, 120-250 nm) powders which had been synthesized through precipitation, sol-gel and hydrothermal methods. From the three types of starting composite powders (HA/TiO$_2$ wt% of 75/25, 50/50, and 25/75), dense $\beta$-TCP/TiO$_2$ composites were prepared by hot-pressing at 800-100$0^{\circ}C$ for 30 min under the pressure of 30 ㎫ in Af atmosphere. The $\beta$-TCP/TiO$_2$ composites showed different microstructures and sintering densities depending on their powder morphology, composition and sintering temperature. With increasing the sintering temperature and the content of TiO$_2$, sintered density was increased and microstructure became more homogeneous.
The effects of initial concentration of dissolved oxygen content, Cu(II) and EDTA in an aqueous Cu(II)-EDTA solution on $TiO_2$ photo-oxidation of EDTA were investigated using $TiO_2$ (Degussa P-25) and UV irradiation at $20{\circ}C$. In the presence of dissolved oxygen and/or Cu(II) the photo-oxidation rates of EDTA were enhanced. The rates linearly increased in the range of initial Cu(II) concentration below 1.79 mM, while abode this concentration those were kept constant. The trend or the EDTA photo-oxidation rates appeared to be akin to the Langmuir-Hinshelwood equation farm and the k values calculated were 0.05 mM/min for the free-EDTA system, and 0.17 mM/min far the Cu(II)-EDTA system. These meant the aqueous EDTA decomposition was enhanced due to weakening of the intra-molecular bond strength of EDTA by complexation with Cu(II) added. It was concluded the decomposition of aqueous EDTA by $TiO_2$ photo-oxidation was maximum in the presence of dissolved oxygen supplied by air purging and of Cu(II) with its concentration for 1:1 Cu(II)-EDTA complexation ratio.
