  • LPM that is used for head driver is problem of miniaturization of construction and cost. This can be achieved by most suitable shape decision. and suitable selection of control system. Specially, in LPM that Full step is mm$\sim$um unit. the large change of thrust receives much effect by tooth number per pole. tooth width and slot width about change of the air gap length. Therefore, this paper presents LPM that use for suitable head driver to reduce of the structure and the cost. to generate maximum thrust of LPM, and finds the proportion of the tooth pitch to tooth width and the slot width about change of the air gap length through FEM analysis. Also, applying different tooth width and slot width that is given as analysis result. this paper presented model that thrust is improved.

Radial Thrust of Single-Blade Centrifugal Pump

  • Single-blade centrifugal pumps are widely used as sewage pumps. However, the impeller of a single-blade pump is subjected to strong radial thrust during pump operation because of the geometrical axial asymmetry of the impeller. Therefore, to improve pump reliability, it is necessary to quantitatively understand radial thrust and elucidate the behavior and mechanism of thrust generating. This study investigates the radial thrust acting up on a single-blade centrifugal impeller by conducting experiments and CFD analysis. The results show that the fluctuating component of radial thrust increases as the flow rate deviates from the design flow rate to low or high value. Radial thrust was modeled by a combination of three components, inertia, momentum, and pressure by applying an unsteady conservation of momentum to the impeller. The sum of these components agrees with the radial thrust calculated by integrating the pressure and the shearing stress on the impeller surface. The behavior of each component was shown, and the effects of each component on radial thrust were clarified. The pressure component has the greatest effect on the time-averaged value and the fluctuating component of radial thrust. The time-averaged value of the inertia component is nearly 0, irrespective of the change in the flow rate. However, its fluctuating component has a magnitude nearly comparable with the pressure component at a low flow rate and slightly decreased with the increase in flow rate.

하이브리드 로켓의 추력제어 성능 향상에 관한 연구 (Study of Thrust Control Performance Improvement for Hybrid Rocket Applications)

  • 본 연구에서는 하이브리드 로켓의 추력 제어 연소실험을 통하여 추력 제어 성능 향상을 위한 연구를 진행하였다. 추력 제어 명령에 따라 니들밸브와 결합된 스텝모터의 구동을 제어함으로써 산화제 유량을 조절하는 시스템을 구축하였다. 하이브리드 로켓 연소실험에서 사용된 산화제로는 기체산소($GO_2$)를 사용하였으며 추진제는 PE(Polyethylene)와 PC(Polycarbonate)를 사용하였다. 추력 제어 연소실험 초기에 발생되었던 추력섭동(Thrust Oscillation) 현상의 개선과 낮은 응답속도의 향상을 위해 연소실험 과정에서 산화제 배관의 유속 변화를 측정하고 원인을 분석하였다. 이를 보완한 연소 실험을 통하여 추력명령의 ${\pm}1$ N 이내에서 추력이 안정적으로 제어되었다.

  • The stem thrust required to unwedging a gate valve is influenced by the pressure and temperature when the valve is closed and by the changes in these conditions between closure and opening. "Pressure Locking" and "Thennal Binding" refer to situations where pressure and temperature effects cause the unwedging load to be much higher than normal. A model of these phenomena has been developed. The effects of pressure and temperature are analyzed to determine the change in this disk-to-seat "interference". Flexibilities or Stiffness of the disk and body strongly influence the unwedging thrust. Calculation and limited comparison to data have been performed for the RHR motor operated valve designs and scenario. Pressure changes can increase the unwedging thrust when bonnet pressure exceeds the pressure in the adjacent piping and temperature changes can increase the unwedging thrust when a temperature change after closure produces an increase in the disk-to-seat interference.

개방형 구조의 진동형 히트파이프의 응축부 길이에 따른 추력 및 유동 가시화 (Thrust and Flow Visualization according to Length of Condenser Section of Open Pulsating Heat Pipe)

  • An open pulsating heat pipe operates continuously by inflow and outflow fluids through an open-type condenser. The open pulsating heat pipe is a device capable of obtaining the thrust due to the variation of internal pressure during phase change. Therefore, the open pulsating heat pipe is a suitable device to move fluids if the heat source such as waste heat exists. Many numerical studies have not been sufficiently conducted on the open pulsating heat pipe. In this study, the numerical analysis of the open pulsating heat pipe is performed according to the length of the condenser section. The OpenFOAM software is used to obtain the thrust and the flow visualization for the open pulsating heat pipe.

  • In this paper, we established a prediction model of fuel consumption at the aircraft's taxi operation. To look for countermeasures to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions, Airbus A380's actual ground taxi data was used. As a result, the number of stops or turnings during the taxi operation was not related to fuel consumption. It was confirmed that the amount of fuel consumption in the taxi operation was the taxi time and the thrust change. It can be confirmed that ground control optimization, which is the result of close cooperation between the control organization and the airline, is absolutely necessary to reduce taxi time and minimize the occurrence of thrust change events.

  • Rotating machines are using gears to change the rotary motion into the linear motion, on the other hand, linear motors have a accurate position control and excellent dynamic characteristics because of generating a thrust force directly. But the important problem, one of the linear motor is a high thrust force ripple. Thrust force ripple has a bad effect on the position accuracy and the dynamic characteristics, so it is necessary to reduce the thrust force ripple. Cogging is one of the cause that affect thrust force ripple. Cogging has some connection with the GCD between pole pitch and teeth pitch It is proposed method to reduce a thrust ripple of the linear motor that chamfering, skew, and so on. In this paper, the module phase set shift(MPSS) is used to reduce a thrust force ripple that has a similar effect to skew. And propose a method that reduce a thrust force ripple more by use of chamfering.

로켓 추진력을 받는 외팔보의 동적 안정성에 관한 수치 및 실험적 연구 (Experimental and Numerical Study on the Dynamic Stability of a Cantilevered Beam Subjected to a Rocket Thrust)

  • The paper deals with the flutter of a cantilevered beam subjected to a rocket thrust generated by a solid rocket motor. It is saaumed that the rocket thrust is to be a constant follower thrust, and produced by the installation of a solid rocket motor to the tip end of the cantilevered beam. The rocket motor is considered to be a rigid body having finite sizes, but not a mass point as it has been assumed so far. Governing equations are derived through the extended Hamilton's principle, and finite element method is applied to obtain the theoretical prediction for critical follower thrust. The maximum follower thrust is also calculated through the change of shear deformation parameter of the beam in the numerical simulation. The theoretical prediction for flutter or stability is verified by experiment. The experimental results show that critical follower thrust in theory agrees well with the experimental value taking account of the magnitude, rotary inertia of the rocket motor and the distance from the tip end of the beam to the center of gravity of the rocket motor.

  • 고체추진기관은 구조가 비교적 간단하고 장기적 저장성이 우수한 반면에 일반적으로 추력의 조절 등에 한계성을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 핀틀 밸브 등과 같은 특수한 노즐을 사용하는 가변추력 고체추진기관의 압력 및 추력 제어 알고리즘을 제안한다. 이를 위해 질량보존만을 고려한 추진기관의 연소기 내 압력변화 모델에 대하여 고전적인 비례-적분 제어기와 모델의 비선형성을 피드백을 통해 제거하고 이를 선형모델로 대치하는 피드백 선형화 제어기를 설계하고, 압력제어모델의 추력계산식을 얻어내어 추력제어모델을 제시한다. 운용점에 대해 선형화하여 비례-적분 제어기를 설계하고, 시뮬레이션을 통하여 모델의 성능을 분석한다.

올댐링을 고려한 스크롤 압축기 스러스트 베어링의 해석 (Analyses of Thrust Bearing in a Scroll Compressor Considering Oldham Ring)

  • A scroll compressor is on the increase in the use for the cooling and ambition machinery because of the advantages about high efficiency, low vibration and low noise. The design of thrust bearing for scroll compressor has depended on the experience. The lubrication considering the squeeze flow was applied for high side shell and low side shell of scroll thrust bearing. This work was based on governing fluid lubrication equation at the general coordinate. It shows the behavior for an orbiting scroll with direct numerical analysis using FDM. This study obtained the theoretical design value by finding load capacity and tilting angle of an orbiting scroll for thrust bearing in a scroll compressor. Especially this work performed the analysis about the design parameter. The program was written using Visual C++ to enhance user to change the design parameter easily. In particular the result value and the pressure profile were displayed as windows in every step for user to understand without difficulty.
