  • This paper describes the strategy of a daily optimal operational scheduling on cogeneration systems with each other generation mode. The cogeneration systems consists of three generators. auxiiiary devices which are three auxiliary boilers, two waste boilers and three sludge incinerators. One unit that using the back pressure turbin generates the electrical and the thermal energy. The other two units that using the extraction condensing turbine generate the energy. Auxiliary devices operate to supplement the thermal energy to the thermal load with three units. The cogeneration system has a large capacity which is able to supply enough the thermal energy to the thermal load, however the electric power generated is insufficient to satisfy the electrical load. Therefore the insufficient electric energy is supplemented by buying electrical energy from the utility. Simulation was carried out using optimization toolbox. The result reveals that the proposed modeling and strategy can be effectively applied to cogeneration systems with each other generation mode.

  • The purpose of this research is to discribe the stress in housing of a three generation family. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey form 467 housewives living in a three generation family households. Major finding were as follow: The female elderly was the most popular type. Married children tended to live together with the forced feeling of responsibility rather than with a volunteering attitude. Many good points steming from three generations living together. however, were recognized by the housewives. This will provide suport to reevaluationg the value of the elderly in this industrial society. The felt stress and expressed various undesirable behavioral adjustments and constraints in relation to the stress. Several planning concepts including privacy, storage space, and soundproof were suggested to enchance the quality of residential environment for the family.

  • The photovoltaic power generation system has a great future as clean energy instead of fossil fuel which has many environmental problems such as exhausted gas or air pollution. In a utility interactive photovoltaic generation system, a three-phase inverter is used for the connection between the photovoltaic array and the utility. This paper present a three phase inverter for photovoltaic power system with current controller, voltage controller, PLL Control system and the Phase detector of Interactive Voltage by using dq transformation. The proposed inverter system provides a sinusoidal ac current for domestic loads and the utility line with unity power factor.

  • Power converters are widely used in the applications of servo drives of ac and dc motors and power supplies. For the control of the converters carious control algorithms have been proposed and realized by gating signal generation. Software control shemes are being applied to implement the control algorithms, but analog circuits are still used for the gating signal generation because it requires very fast and precise timing. In this paper the gating signal generation with DSP software are proposed for the three phase to three phase PWM converter. Design procedures and software flowcharts are presented and some experimental waveforms are also presented to verify the proposed algorithms.

  • Motion generation of a four-bar linkage is a type of mechanism synthesis that has a wide range of applications such as a pick-and-place operation in manufacturing. In this research, the use of meta-heuristics for motion generation of a four-bar linkage is demonstrated. Three problems of motion generation were posed as a constrained optimization probably using the weighted sum technique to handle two types of tracking errors. A simple penalty function technique was used to deal with design constraints while three meta-heuristics including differential evolution (DE), self-adaptive differential evolution (JADE) and teaching learning based optimization (TLBO) were employed to solve the problems. Comparative results and the effect of the constraint handling technique are illustrated and discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand how the economic conditions and needs of single-parent families are different between single-mother and single-father families, and also how they are dependent on household composition. The data for this study were drawn from the 1st Korea Welfare Panel Study and analyzed by frequencies, means, ${\chi}^2$, t-test, F-test, and logistic regression with the STATA 9.1 program. The major findings are as follows: (1) Single-parent families are more likely to live in a three-generation household than married couple families. (2) The composition of a three-generation household of single-parent families is affected by sex, age, education, type of marital disruption, the type of employment of single parents and the age of the last-born child. (3) The income-to-needs ratio is not significantly different depending on the sex of the single parents and their household composition. However, material hardship is significantly low in three-generation household single-parent families. (4) There are differences between three-generation single-parent families and independent single-parent families in income sources: The ratio of public transfer to total incomes is higher in three-generation households than independent households, while the ratio of private transfer to total incomes is higher in independent households.

  • The aim of this study to examine the Hip-Hop style, one of the fashion trends of the new generation in the 1990s and to come up with a design with a Hip-Hop image. As the Counterculture, Black Renaissance, Pop Star Syndrome, the importance of Hip-Hop fashion in mass culture was recognized and given a firm place as one of the major cultural trends of the 1990s. Hip-Hop fashion has a history: it originated from the Caribbean style in the 1940s and was transformed into Rude Boys style in the 1960s, Two-tone style and Rastafarians style in the 1970s. Finally it was succeeded by B-boys and Flygirls style. Hip-Hop style combines characteristics of all three styles mixed in one, which are as follows. First, Neo-Hip-Hop Fashion, Second, Hip-Hop Reggae Fashion and Third, Graffiti Fashion. Based on these three Hip-Hop images of the 19905, an attempt will be made to produce a Design Planning with a predicted 1998 fashion trend. This research provides order sheets on ready-made clothes designed for new generation in their late 10s and early 20s. Design Concept, Image Map, Fabric, color direction will be offered on the basis of an image map drawn in line with the three design concepts incorporating three sub themes of Liveliness, Modern Ethnic, and Dynamic Future. Three designs will be designed based on the following fashion themes$\ddot{o}$ Generation 'Y', Black Guys and Street Boys.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the pattern and perception of food consumption, mass restaurant use, drinking style, and food purchasing factors by cohort groups i. e., World Cup(W) generation, baby boom, and silent generation. Data were collected from 412 respondents including three generations by questionnaire method in April through May 2002. Analysis of variance and chi-square results indicate that there were significant differences among three generation groups for the pattern and perception of food consumption, the use of mass restaurant, preferred drinking style, and influencing factors for food purchasing. W generation are more likely to be influenced by sensibility factor than baby boom and silent generation. Considering food preference pattern, baby boom as well as silent generation prefer green vegetables than meats, and they must have Kimche when having meals. Similarities and differences in perceptional pattern types are discussed, and future implications for food and nutrition specialists and food marketers are provided.

  • This study identified and compared family values within and across different generations concerning gender roles, attitudes toward diverse families, children, and parental roles. Data were obtained from the 2020 Seoul Family Report Survey. There were 1,949 study subjects, including first- and second-generation baby boomers and individuals in generations X, Y, and Z in Korea. Latent profile analyses were conducted using M-plus. Perceptions and views concerning family values were classified into different types. The main findings were as follows. Two types were identified among first baby boomers, and three were identified among second baby boomers. Most of the first and second baby boomers belonged to the "moderate" type. Two types were detected among those in Generation X. Regarding gender roles, most views of Generation X were slightly progressive, while their other family values were more moderate. Three types were identified among those in Generation Y: "progressive," "moderate," and "very liberal." Generation Z was identified as a "progressive" group. This study provides basic data to explore the direction of the coexistence of generations by identifying and comparing diverse family values within and across generations.
