The Geometric Modeling for 3D Information of X-ray Inspection (스테레오 X-선 검색장치를 이용한 3차원 정보 가시화에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, using X-ray cargo container scanning device and to differentiate the concept of three-dimensional information extraction applied for X-ray scanning device as an ingredient in the rotation of the X-Ray Linear Pushbroom Stereo System by introducing the geometric How to model was introduced. Three-dimensional information obtained through the matching of a single voxel space filled with a random vector operations for each voxel in the three dimensional shape reconstruction algorithm using the definition, and in time, the time required for each step were analyzed. Using OpenCV in each step by applying parallelization techniques approximately 1.8 times improvement in the processing time of the check, but do not meet the target within one minute levels.   • So far, the design methods of quartz crystal resonator have been developed. Recently, as the electronic package and semiconductor modules become smaller, the need to minimize the sizes of crystal components grows larger. but Minimizing crystal plate sizes has limitations because its temperature-frequency characteristics is worse and unwanted resonances occur. so appropriate design of electrode size and crystal plates is necessary. In this palter, Two-dimensional governing equations for electroded piezoelectric crystal plates with general symmetry have been solved from deduced equations from three-dimensional equations of linear piezoelectricity in most cases. In practice, electroded piezoelectric crystal plates have three-dimensional geometry, so simplified 2-dimensional equations and 2-D modeling are insufficient for explaining its resonance modes and characteristics. So, three-dimensional FEM(finite element method) analysis is done and its effectiveness is verified from analyzing practical crystal resonator model.

Obstacle Modeling for Environment Recognition of Mobile Robots Using Growing Neural Gas Network

  • A major research issue associated with service robots is the creation of an environment recognition system for mobile robot navigation that is robust and efficient on various environment situations. In recent years, intelligent autonomous mobile robots have received much attention as the types of service robots for serving people and industrial robots for replacing human. To help people, robots must be able to sense and recognize three dimensional space where they live or work. In this paper, we propose a three dimensional environmental modeling method based on an edge enhancement technique using a planar fitting method and a neural network technique called "Growing Neural Gas Network." Input data pre-processing provides probabilistic density to the input data of the neural network, and the neural network generates a graphical structure that reflects the topology of the input space. Using these methods, robot's surroundings are autonomously clustered into isolated objects and modeled as polygon patches with the user-selected resolution. Through a series of simulations and experiments, the proposed method is tested to recognize the environments surrounding the robot. From the experimental results, the usefulness and robustness of the proposed method are investigated and discussed in detail.in detail.

Creating a digitized database of maxillofacial prostheses (obturators): A pilot study

  • PURPOSE. This study aimed to create a digitized database of fabricated obturators to be kept for patients' potential emergency needs. MATERIALS AND METHODS. A chairside intraoral scanner was used to scan the surfaces of an acrylic resin obturator. The scanned data was recorded and saved as a single standard tessellation language file using a three-dimensional modeling software. A simulated obturator model was manufactured using fused deposition modeling technique in a three-dimensional printer. RESULTS. The entire obturator was successfully scanned regardless of its structural complexity, modeled as three-dimensional data, and stored in the digital system of our clinic at a relatively small size (19.6 MB). A simulated obturator model was then accurately manufactured from these data. CONCLUSION. This study provides a proof-of-concept for the use of digital technology to create a digitized database of obturators for edentulous maxillectomy patients.

  • The purpose of this study is to implement modeling by applying the parametric technique to the atypical trusses of rigid retractable large space structures. The retractable large space structure requires a lot of time and skill in modeling nonlinear shapes or generating, interpreting, and reviewing many models by alternative. To solve these problems, we introduce firstly parametric modeling tool, secondly, we analyze the connection of atypical three-dimensional trusses of a rigid retractable large-space structure, and finally model it as parametric components of the developed trusses. Therefore, it is a future study to make effective modeling of the openable roof by developing the components that can realize the modeling of the truss classified by the opening and closing method, respectively.

  • Three-dimensional geo-spatial information is important for the efficient use and management of the country and the three-dimensional expression and analysis of urban projects, such as urban plans devised by local governments and urban management. Thanks to the revitalization of the geo-spatial information service industry, it is now being variously used not only in public but also private areas. For the creation of high-guiltily three-dimensional geo-spatial information, emphasis should be placed on not only the quality of the source image and three-dimensional geo-spatial model but also the level of visualization, such as level of detail and texturing. However, in the case of existing three-dimensional geo-spatial information, its establishment process is complicated and its data are not updated frequently enough, as it uses ready-created digital maps. In addition, as it uses Ortho Images, the images exist Relief displacement. As a result, the visibility is low and the three-dimensional models of artificial features are simplified to reach LoD between 2 and 3, making the images look less realistic. Therefore, this paper, analyzed the quality of three-dimensional geo-spatial information created using the three-dimensional modeling technique were applied using Digital photogrammetry technique, using digital aerial photo images by an existing large-format digital camera and multi-looking camera. The analysis of the accuracy of visualization information of three-dimensional models showed that the source image alone, without other visualization information, secured the accuracy of 84% or more and that the establishment of three-dimensional spatial information carried out simultaneously with filming made it easier to gain the latest data. The analysis of the location accuracy of true Ortho images used in the work process showed that the location accuracy was better than the allowable horizontal position accuracy of 1:1,000 digital maps.

  • By now, we have been analysing the resistance values on 3 dimensional structure using experimental statical method or theoretical modeling, while devices miniaturizing reveals the limitation of the traditional methods to calculate 3 dimensional resistance. In addition, 2 dimensional analysing can not produce 3 dimensional characteristic following miniaturizing. To solve the limitations , we must do high level modeling of semi-conductor process. In this thesis, we analyzed the Laplace equation that is the basic and important for 3 dimensional structure resistance with computer simulation method and on the basis of this, analyzed the characteristic of resistance of 3 dimensional structure communication semiconductor device.

  • The three dimensional inviscid transonic cascade flow was investigated numerically, incorporation a four stage Runge-Kutta integration method proposed by Jameson. Time marching to the steady state was accelerated by using optimum time step and enthalpy damping. In describing the boundary conditions at inlet and outlet, Riemann invariants are considered. By adding a second and a fourth order artificial viscocities, the numerical instability due to the propagation of undamped disturbance or the rapid change of state near the shock has been prevented. The numerical results for are bump cascade, cambered two dimensional turbine cascade and three dimensional stator cascade agreed reasonably well with previous results. It has been known that the accuracy of the solution depended a lot on the modeling of the leading or trailing edge.

  • The SGBEM-FEM alternating method has been known to be a very effective method for analyzing threedimensional cracks in a finite body. The accurate values of the stress intensity factor can be obtained for a general planar or nonplanar three-dimensional crack. In the existing method, eight-noded quadrilateral boundary elements are used to model a crack. In some cases, three-node triangle boundary elements are more convenient for the modeling of a crack with a general shape. In this study, a crack is modeled with three-noded triangular and seven-noded quadrilateral elements by using the advancing-front mesh generation method. The stress intensity factors are obtained for cracks with several shapes and the accuracy of results is examined.

  • This paper presents a three dimensional modeling and dynamic analysis of a hydraulic excavator. An excavator composed of a boom, a bucket, two boom cylinders, an arm cylinder, and a bucket cylinder is used for the analysis. Each cylinder is modeled to two separate bodies linked by a translational joint. Judging from the actual degrees of freedom of the excavator, proper kinematic joints are selected to exclude redundant constraints in the modeling. In order to find the reaction forces at kinematic joints during operations, inverse dynamic analysis is carried out. Dynamic analysis is also carried out to verify the results from inverse dynamic analysis. The DADS program is used for analysis, with proper modification of the DADS user routine according to various motions.
