  • Developing countries have faced serious difficulties in implementing customs procedures. For example, they have experienced heavy administrative constraints such as lack of qualified personnel and non-computerization. Some importers in developing countries have tried to undervalue or overvalue the imported goods and misclassify them with the target of lowering the incidence of customs duties. In order to address these problems many of developing countries often require the exporter to get a Clean Report of Findings(CRF) issued by a preshipment inspection entity. This study tries to reply to the following questions with which the exporters are faced in the process of issuance of CRF. First, what are the provisions and regulations that the exporters have to note in the event a CRF is issued by the inspection entity? Second, how do the exporters safeguard their own rights in case of price verification? Third, how to protect the confidential business information to be submitted by the exporters in order to get a CRF? Fourth, how can the exporters respond to the improper conducts that the inspection entities have done?

  • A numerical study is carried out on the detonation wave propagation through a T-shaped flame tube, which represents a crucial part of the combustion wave ignition (CWI) system aimed for simultaneous ignition of multiple combustion chambers by delivering detonation waves. The formulation includes the Euler equations and an induction-parameter model. The reaction rate is treated based on a chemical kinetics database obtained from a detailed chemistry mechanism. A second-order implicit time integration and a third-order TVD algorithm are Implemented to solve the theoretical model numerically. A total of more than two-million grid points are used to provide direct insight into the dynamics of the detonation wave. Several important phenomena including detonation wave propagation, degeneration, and re-initiation are carefully examined. Information obtained can be effectively used to facilitate the design and optimization of the flame tubes of CWI systems.

  • In this paper, we study the estimation of angle, range and polarization parameters of a bistatic polarization sensitive frequency diverse array multiple-input multiple-output (PSFDA-MIMO) radar system. The application of polarization sensitive array in receiver is explored. A signal model of bistatic PSFDA-MIMO radar system is established. In order to utilize the multi-dimensional structure of array signals, the matched filtering radar data can be represented by a third-order tensor model. A joint estimation of the direction-of-departure (DOD), direction-of-arrival (DOA), range and polarization parameters based on parallel factor (PARAFAC) algorithm is proposed. The proposed algorithm does not need to search spectral peaks and singular value decomposition, and can obtain automatic pairing estimation. The method was compared with the existing methods, and the results show that the performance of the method is better. Therefore, the accuracy of the parameter estimation is further improved.

  • We present an elementary pedagogical derivation of the Brillouin-Wigner and the Rayleigh-Schr$\ddot{o}$dinger perturbation theories with Epstein-Nesbet partitioning. A variant of the Brillouin-Wigner perturbation theory is also introduced, which can be easily extended to the quasi-degenerate case. A main advantage of the new theory is that the computing time required for obtaining the successive higher-order results is minimal after the third-order calculation. We illustrate the accuracy of the new perturbation theory for some simple model systems like the perturbed harmonic oscillator and the particle in a box.

  • In this paper, a compact fully printable bandpass filter is suggested for a low-frequency channel 3.2 GHz ~ 3.7 GHz in the Ultra-Wideband (UWB) communication system. It is featured with a small geometry of $0.5{\lambda}_g/15$ and a low insertion loss despite using FR4 as a cheap substrate of a high dielectric loss. This is made possible by generating zeroth-order-resonance (ZOR) from one cell comprising two series resonances obviously separated from one shunt resonance as a third-order bandpass filter. Especially, the series resonance elements are combined with spur-lines bent by 90 degrees, which makes the port-impedance matched well and eliminates spurious hikes in the stopband, while the overall size remains almost unchanged. The design is carried out by setting up the equivalent circuit and the circuit simulation is checked by the full-wave EM analysis. The structure is manufactured and measured to show that the circuit modeling and EM simulation results agree with the measured data.

  • This study was performed to investigate the ophthalmic diseases in 269 Holstein dairy cattle of 10 farms in Kyunggido, Korea. The acerage prevalence rate of ophthalmec diseases was 25.7%, ranging of from 4.8% to 47.6%. The highest incidence age was between 3 and 4 years old, 41.9% and then in order of between 5 and 6 years, between 2 and 3 years, over 6 years, between 4 and 5 years, between 1 and 2 years, and up to 1 year were shown the incidence of 33.3%, 29.4%, 27.7%, 23.8%, 19.8% and 12.5%, respectively. The prevalence rate of cataracts was higher than any other ophthalmic diseases, 10.4% and then in order of chorioretinitis, iris posterior synechiae, corneal scar, conjunctivitis, blindness, third eyelid carcinoma and globe anomaly were diagnosed as the incidence of 4.1%, 3.0%, 1.7%, 1.3%, 0.4%, 0.2% and 0.2%, respectively.

  • Edges are one of the most important features used in various computer vision applications. Most of the known edge detection techniques are categorized into three gropus: First two approaches are to find gray level changes using first-order or second-order differentiation. The third method uses intrinsic propoeties of edges such as the result shown during scale space filtering. In this paper, we study various kind of edge detection techniques. Two images (Lenna image and a certain image which is composed of step, ramp, roof, and other artificial edge patterns) are used to compare different edge detection techniques and to verify the advantages and disadvantage of each techniques.

  • A 3V-50MHz analog CMOS continuous-time current-mode filter with a negative resistance load(NRL) is proposed. In order to design a current-mode current integrator, a modified basic current mirror with a NRL to increase the output resistance is employed. the inherent circuit structure of the designed NRL current integrator, which minimizes the internal circuit nodes and enhances the gain bandwidth product, is capable of making the filter operate at the high frequency. The third order Butterworth low pass filter utilizing the designed NRL current integrator is synthesized and simulated with a 1.5.mu.m CMOS n-well proess. Simulation result shows the cutoff frequency of 50MHz and power consumption of 2.4mW/pole with a 3V power supply.

  • The unsteady transonic viscous flow has been analyzed over an oscillatory airfoil. The CSCM(Conservative Supra Characteristic Method) upwind flux difference splitting method and the iterative time marching scheme having first order accuracy in time and second to third order accuracy in space was applied on dynamic meshes. A steady flow field of Mach number 0.7 has been calculated for the verification of unsteady algorithm. The time-accurate unsteady calculations have been done for NACA 0012 airfoil oscillating around quarter chord about freestream Mach number 0.6 on dynamic meshes. The results have been compared with the AGARD Case 3 experimental data. The periodic characteristics have been compared with the experimental results.

  • Utilizing dual basis, normal basis, and subfield representation, three different finite field multipliers are presented in this paper. First, we propose an extended dual basis multiplier based on Berlekamp's bit-serial multiplication algorithm. Second, a detailed explanation and design of the Massey-Omura multiplier based on a normal basis representation is described. Third, the multiplication algorithm over GF(($2^{n}$) utilizing subfield is proposed. Especially, three different multipliers are designed over the finite field GF(($2^{4}$) and the complexity of each multiplier is compared with that of others. As a result of comparison, we recognize that the extendd dual basis multiplier requires the smallest number of gates, whereas the subfield multiplier, due to its regularity, simplicity, and modularlity, is easier to implement than the others with respect to higher($m{\ge}8$) order and m/2 subfield order.
