  • This study delves into the Gache Prohibition Order during the Chosun Dynasty and researches the changes of the Gagye style caused by Gache Prohibition Order comparing both the pre-prohibition order and post-prohibition order and analyzing its related remains, old documents, and other researches about the Gache Prohibition order. The Gache Prohibition order during the Chosun Dynasty had contributed to the changes of the Gagye styles such as Sseu-gye, Hwan-gye, and Eoneun hair styles. Dae-su and Eo-yu-mi Gache in Sseu-gye style had been rarely used while Hwa-gwan and Jok-du-ri were often used in the Sseu-gye style. In the Hwan-gye style, Hwan-gye of Geo-du-mi was replaced with wood. Form and bulk in Eoneun hair had been minimized and changed into new types of The Gache Prohibition order of the Chosun Dynasty had affected the Gagye style in the following ways: First, in the aspect of style, the Gagye style was used to decrease volume. Second, the Practical science of the Chosun Dynasty had affected clothing in terms of actuality, convenience, simplicity, and openness. Third, the Gache Prohibition Order affected the Gagye style as well as the re-understanding of the beauty of clothing.

  • A numerical procedure for the geometrical and material nonlinear analysis of concrete beams prestressed with external tendons is described, where the effects of external prestressing are treated as the equivalent loads applied on the concrete beams. The geometrical nonlinearity is considered not only the eccentricity variations of external tendons (second-order effects) but also the large displacement effects of the structure. The numerical method can predict the nonlinear response of externally prestressed concrete beams throughout the entire loading history with considerable accuracy. An evaluation of second-order effects of externally prestressed concrete beams is carried out using the proposed analysis. The analysis shows that the second-order effects have significant influence on the response characteristics of externally prestressed concrete beams. They lead to inferior ultimate load and strength capacities and a lower ultimate stress increase in tendons. Based on the current analysis, it is recommended that, for simply-supported externally prestressed beams with straight horizontal tendons, one deviator at midspan instead of two deviators at one-third span be furnished to minimize these effects.

  • Procambium developed in the histogenetical zone below the marginal meristem. The development of procambium is correlated with the developmental stage of the leaf. As long as the marginal cells are crescent-shaped, the first-order procambium develops. When the marginal cell becomes wedge-shaped, the higher order procambium appears. The reticulated venation is developed through forking and anastomosis. The meshes of the first order enlarge in the process of leaf growth and the meshes of the second and third order develop in the meshes of the first-order through the differentiation of the residual meristem. Therefore, the venation is hierachically arranged and is as recognizable from the thickening of the veins. The outermost vein is produced parallel to the leaf margin, in which the differences between the costal and intercostal parts of the marginal meristem are removed. The endodermis and pericycle differentiate from the same mother cell. The procambium and sclerenchyma originate from a common source during the first developmental stage. A small cellular cluster lies within the parenchyma at the upper and lower sides of the procambial trace and differentiates into sclerenchyma.

  • Kinetic studies were carried out for the redox reaction of $[Co(NH_3)_4(C_2O_4)]^+$ with aqueous $[Fe(H_2O)_6]^{2+}$ solution in the present of $H^+$ by UV/VIS-spectrophotometric method. It was found that the order of $H^+$ for the reaction is first one in the higher $H^+$ concentration range of $1.67×10^{-1} M{\sim}1.00 M,$ while second order in the lower range of $6.30×10^{-2} M{\sim}1.67{\times}10^{-1} M.$ Reaction order of the substrates was found to be first order with respect to each of them. Accordingly overall reactions are third or fourth order. The results of calculation for the Extended Huckel Molecular Orbital theory contribute to estimate the preferred intermediates, bridging form of binuclear complex. On the basis of these results, we propose that this redox reaction proceed via inner-sphere reaction mechanism.

  • The simple equation of GIUH are frequently used in many researches instead of the derived equation of GIUH. However it is still unknown whether the simple equation of GIUH is adaptable for estimating IUHs for basins with various geomorphologic conditions. To verify the applicability of the simple equation of GIUH, in this research, four basins which were Bangrim, Sanganmi, Museong, and Byeongcheon were selected and each basin was assumed as the third and fourth stream order basin according to variable resolutions. After than, IUHs were estimated using the derived and simple equations of GIUH. Eight to sixteen hydrographs were estimated from the each IUH, compared with observed graphs. In case of that the basin is assumed as a third order stream, the derived equation underestimated the peak flows while the simple equation overestimated them. When the basin is assumed as a fourth order stream, the simple equation generally overestimated the peak flows whereas the derived equation produced peak flows good agreement with the observed peak flow. Moreover, the simple equation showed various deviations in accuracy whereas the derived equation produced stable results. Based on the fact found from this research, it can be concluded that the derived equation of GIUH brings better results than the simple equation of GIUH to estimate IUHs for ungauged basins.

  • In this paper the order picking problem in warehouses is considered, a topic which has received considerable attention from the international academic body in recent years. The order picking problem deals with the retrieval of order items from prespecified locations in the warehouse, and its objective is usually the minimization of travel time or travel distance. Hence, a well-thought order picking policy in combination with an appropriate storage policy will enhance warehouse efficiency and reduce operational costs. This paper starts with a literature overview summarizing approaches to routing order pickers, assigning stock-keeping units to pick locations and designing warehouse layouts. Since the layout design might affect both storage and routing policies, the three factors are interdependent with respect to order picking performance. To test these interdependencies, a simulation experiment was set up, involving two types of warehouse layout, four types of storage policy, five well-known heuristics and five sizes of order picking list. Our results illustrate that from the point of view of order picking distance minimization it is recommended to equip the warehouse with a third cross aisle, although this comes at the cost of a certain space loss. Additionally, we propose a set of most appropriate matches between order picking heuristics and storage policies. Finally, we give some directions for further research and recommend an integrated approach involving all factors that affect warehouse efficiency.

  • In the curved geometries, from the solution of the classical Riemann problem in the plane, the asymptotic solutions of the compressible Euler equation are presented. The explicit formulae are derived for the third order approximation of the generalized Riemann problem form the conventional setting of a planar shock-interface interaction.
