  • Recently farming succession has become an important topic in agriculture in order to secure agricultural manpower in response to the aging of farming households and declining population. This study investigates farmers and agricultural college students' perception of farming succession in Korea, especially of farming succession to a third party. Farmers and agricultural college students are potential farming transferors and successors, respectively. We surveyed 146 farmers and 95 students who graduated or were studying at the Korea National College of Agriculture and Fisheries. The questions of the survey are largely divided into four categories: 1) the will and scope of farming transfer and succession, 2) the requirements for the successors of farming, 3) the perception on the succession to third-parties, and 4) the farming succession policy. According to the survey results 41.4% of farmers and 46.3% of potential farming successors have willingness to accept a farming succession to a third party. When farming succession was carried out through the Farming Succession Exchange, 46.8% of farmers and 54.7% of successors said they are willing to carry out third-party farming succession. This means that a third-party farming succession could be activated if the reliability issue that may arise during the farming succession is resolved through the Farming Succession Exchange. Other implications for farming succession are suggested at the end of this study.

  • As the quality of life has improved today, there is a growing desire among consumers for new space and interest in spending their valuable time in 'the third space' has tended to increase. Cafes have been integrated with sales and exhibition space as the representative third space. For example, it's cafe type automobile exhibition centers. The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of 'the third space' in cafe type automobile exhibition centers and suggest a plan for effective spatial characteristics. It checked the necessity of the third space' in automobile exhibition centers by analyzing automobile consumption trends of the 21st century according to industry change and restructures a checklist by grasping cafe type automobile exhibition centers and the concept and characteristics of 'the third space' based on the precedent studies. A questionnaire is made through the checklist drawn and a survey is conducted targeting users of the target areas of cases. The target areas of cases are 4 cafe type automobile exhibition centers opened in Korea since 2014. The analytical results of the target areas of cases that reflected the characteristics of 'the third space' are as follow: First, cafe type automobile exhibition centers must be built to make customers enter the space and at the same time, receive information on automobiles and space naturally. Second, in order to increase satisfaction with the space and brands, there is the necessity to arouse their interest through various experiences including test driving cars directly. Third, revisit intention can be found to be more influenced by spatial design than brand satisfaction. Fourth, partitions or interior for dividing the space need to be improved. In the next studies, specific research on plans about creating design to improve corporate image and brands and induce customers to revisit cafe type automobile exhibition centers by applying the characteristics of 'the third place' to them is required.

  • This paper presents a new method for designing a dual-band WIFI antenna using the third-order harmonic mode of a monopole antenna whose first-order mode operates at the low frequency band of WIFI. As analysing the current distribution of the third-order mode of this monopole antenna, the strongest point of electric field can be found. Then by attaching a stub at this point, the resonant frequency of the stub radiator can be adjusted from the third-order mode of the monopole antenna into the high frequency band of WIFI and the input impedance at this resonant frequency can be controlled with the width of the branch, without affecting the low frequency band of WIFI (the first-order mode of the monopole antenna). The compact dual-band antenna is designed at the size of an USB(universal serial bus) dongle and the bandwidth covers 600 MHz(2.3~3 GHz) at 2 GHz and 1 GHz(4.9~5.9 GHz) at 5 GHz under -10 dB which is satisfied with WLAN frequency. Efficiency of proposed antenna achieves over 50 % at WLAN frequency.

  • This article will analyze and forecast important variables and dynamics in global power politics after the war in Ukraine. It tries to use several perspectives to analyze international relations, particularly liberal internationalism and structural realism. In short, core variables are as follows; First, how is the US-led liberal international order and globalization being adjusted? Second, how will the U.S.-China strategic competition, which is the biggest and structural variable, cause changes in the international order in the future? The third variable, how stable are Sino-Russia relations in the context of a structuring U.S.-China-Russia strategic new triangle? Fourth, to what extent will third middle hedging states outside the U.S. and China be able to exercise strategic autonomy in the face of multipolarization? To summarize, the first of these four variables is the largest basic variable at the global political and economic level in terms of its impact on the international community, and it has been led by the United States. The second variable, in terms of actors, seems to be the most influential structural variable in global competition, and the US-China strategic competition is likely to be a long game. Thus the world will not be able to escape the influence of the competition between the two global powers. For South Korea, this second variable is probably the biggest external variable and dilemma. The third variable, the stability of Sino-Russia relations, determines balance of global power in the 21st century. The U.S.-China-Russia strategic new triangle, as seen in the current war in Ukraine, will operate as the greatest power variable in not only global power competition but also changes in the international order. Just as the U.S. is eager for a Sino-Russia fragmentation strategy, such as a Tito-style wedge policy to manage balance of power in the early years of the Cold War, it needs a reverse Kissinger strategy to reset the U.S.-Russia relationship, in order to push for a Sino-Russia splitting in the 21st century. But with the war in Ukraine, it seems that this fragmentation strategy has already been broken. In the context of Northeast Asia, whether or not the stability of Sino-Russia relations depends not only on the United States, but also on the Korean Peninsula. Finally, the fourth variable is a dependent variable that emerged as a result of the interaction of the above three variables, but simultaneously it remains to be seen that this variable is likely to act as the most dynamic and independent variable that can promote multilateralism, multipolarization, and pan-regionalism of the global international community in the future. Taking into account these four variables together, we can make an outlook on the change in the international order.

  • In this paper, we study the bending and free vibration analysis of nano plate, using a nonlocal elasticity theory of Eringen with a third-order shear deformation theory. This theory has ability to capture the both small scale effects and quadratic variation of shear strain and consequently shear stress through the plate thickness. Analytical solutions of bending and vibration of a laminated composite nano plate are presented using this theory to illustrate the effect of nonlocal theory on deflection of the nano plates. The relations between nonlocal third-order and local theories are discussed by numerical results. Further, effects of (i) nonlocal parameters, (ii) laminate schemes, (iii) directions of the fiber angle and (iv) number of layers on nondimensional deflections are investigated. In order to validate the present solutions, the reference solutions are used and discussed. The results of anisotropic nano plates using the nonlocal theory may be the benchmark test for the bending analysis.
