The chassis of T.V, cassette, radio and telephone are made up thin-iron plates that makes a lot of female screws to assemble various parts. Then makes hole in the iron plate and forming female screws of burring face after the burring. Female screws forming in thin-iron plate is very difficult working then rolled forming process use of plastic deformation instead of cut forming. In this study goals are solve the trouble problem of industrial field and develop new model tap for prevent chips.
Stamping process and rubber pad forming process were performed to manufacture the bipolar plate for fuel cells. For that, a vacuum die casting process and a semi-solid forming process wherein liquid-state materials were used were adopted. After preparing the blank with the stainless steel thin plate having a thickness of 0.1 mm, the bipolar plate channel was formed with the stamping process and rubber pad forming process. The depth of the bipolar plate channel prepared by the stamping method was 0.45 mm and the depth of the bipolar plate channel prepared by the rubber pad forming process was 0.41 mm. Meanwhile, with the vacuum die casting and semi solid forming, the bipolar plate having a channel depth of 0.3 mm, same as the size of the die, could be formed.
To improve the shortcomings and expand the advantages of the single-roll melt drag method, which is a type of continuous strip casting method, the melt drag method with a molding belt is applied to AZ31 magnesium alloy. By attaching the forming belt to the melt drag method, the cooling condition of the thin plate is improved, making it possible to manufacture thin plates even at high roll speed of 100 m/min or more. In addition, it is very effective for continuous production of thin plates to suppress oxidation of the molten metal on the roll contact surface by selecting the protective gas. As a result of investigating the relationship between the contact time between the molten metal and the roll and the thickness of the sheet, it is possible to estimate the thickness of the sheet from the experimental conditions. The relationship between the thin plate thickness and the grain size is one in which the thinner the thin plate is, the faster the cooling rate of the thin plate is, resulting in finer grain size. The contact state between the molten metal and the roll greatly affects the grain size, and the minimum average grain size is 72 ㎛. The thin plate produced using this experimental equipment can be rolled, and the rolled sample has no large cracks. The tensile test results show a tensile strength of 303 MPa.
Thin plate correction of forming process that it is nowadays smile change of simple contact surface as it becomes possible that forecast dictionary numerically exactly to analyze comparative big comp displacement real industry spot problems between complicated and abnormal curved line shapes and thin plate and die more reliable and need many efforts yet economical analysis method is required and develops this efficient algorithm. This research analyzes correction of forming and examined possibility and validity of spot application using One-Step Finite Element Method. Its application is being increased especially in the automotive industrial area for the cost reduction, weight saving, and improvement of strength.
In this study, we develop the lower pressure die casting with rheo-forming process of A356 aluminum alloy and vacuum system which can control the crystal size and obtain the high strengthened-light material. Using this process, we fabricate the thin plate for bipolar plate through the low pressure die casting with electromagnetic stirring and vacuum-evacuation which can control the crystal grain by electromagnetic stirring. Thin plate ($110mm{\times}130mm{\times}1mm$) is fabricated by this process. The average Vickers hardness of thin plate is about 77 HV.
In this paper, experimental and numerical study on a combined sheet metal forming and plate forging of a seal part of a passenger car's hub bearing is conducted to develop the new process of which target is to remove machining process by plate forging and to achieve near-net shape manufacturing. The previous process of a sheet metal forming inevitably needed a machining process for making stepped sheet after conventional sheet metal forming in a progressive way. The stepped sheet is intended to be formed by plate forging in this study. Through the systematic way of developing the combined forming process using solid elements based-elastoplastic finite element method (FEM), several conceptual designs are made and an optimized process design in terms of geometric dimensioning and tolerance of straightness of the thin part is found, which is exposed to bending in metal forming of axisymmetric part. The predicted straightness measured by the slope angle of the tilted thin region is compared with the experimental straightness, showing that they are in a good agreement with each other. Through this study, a systematic approach to optimal process design, based on elastoplastic FEM with solid elements, is established, which will contribute to innovating the conventional small-scaled sheet metal forming processes which can be dealt with by solid elements.
A thin sheet of metal with corrugated structures has been utilized in various devices: heat exchangers, separators in fuel cells, and many others. However, it is not easy to fabricate thin corrugated structures using a single-step stamping process due to their geometrical complexity. To solve this problem, firstly, a plate type heat exchanger was redesigned to attain the optimal value of aspect ratio and the optimal shape of corrugated structures for the actual loading conditions. A forming analysis of the corrugated plate was then carried out to determine the process parameters. From this work, the optimal value of aspect ratio was found to be 4.6. In addition, the process parameters of heat exchanger forming were optimized using the optimal value of aspect ratio, and the analytical results were evaluated through experiments. The results obtained indicated good agreements between them.
Roll forming process is one of important metal processing technology because the process is simple and economical. These days, roll forming process is tried to be employed in manufacturing the circuit board, barrier ribs and solar cell plate for productivity. However, it is difficult to apply to the forming of micro scale or sub-micro scale pattern. In this study, the roll forming processing for the micro scale is designed and analyzed. In this study, the forming of micro pattern for solar cell plate by incremental roll forming process is analyzed. The solar cell plate may have thousands of patterns, and the analysis of forming considering all the patterns is impossible due to the computational costs. In this study, analyses are carried out for various numbers of patterns and the results are compared. It is shown that the analyses results with four row patterns and twelve row patterns are same. So, it is considered that the analysis can be carried out for only four rows of pattern for the design of incremental roll forming process. Also experiment is carried out process that is designed through simulation.
