Dependence of Electrons Loss Behavior on the Nitride Thickness and Temperature for Charge Trap Flash Memory Applications

  • $Pt/Al_2O_3/Si_3N_4/SiO_2/Si$ charge trap flash memory structures with various thicknesses of the $Si_3N_4$ charge trapping layer were fabricated. According to the calculated and measured results, we depicted electron loss in a schematic diagram that illustrates how the trap to band tunneling and thermal excitation affects electrons loss behavior with the change of $Si_3N_4$ thickness, temperature and trap energy levels. As a result, we deduce that $Si_3N_4$ thicknesses of more than 6 or less than 4.3 nm give no contribution to improving memory performance.

The Change of the Physical Properties of PET Fabrics Treated in NaOH/Quarternary Ammonium Salt Compound Solution (PET직물의 NaOH/4급암모늄염 혼합액에 의한 물성변화)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the Improvement of fiber surface, tenacity & elogation, fabric counts, thickness, handle, moisture regain, static voltage, handle, dyeability when polyester fabrics are treated with NaOH solution adding quartemary ammonium salt (Benzyl dimetyl dodecyl ammonium chloride . BDMDAC) The results are as follows. I. In regard to the method of processing VET, when the PET fabrics are alkaline-hydrolyzed adding BDMDAC, the weight loss of PET fabrics increased remarkably to the increse of BDMDAC concentration than when they are treated only in NaOH solution. When PET fabrics are alkaline-hydrolyzed the amount of BDMDAC as the catalyst is proper lg/1 II. The change in physical & chemical properties of alkaline-hydrolyzed PET fabrirs. 1. As the amount of the weight loss on PET fabrics increased, the void space of the PET yale increased but tenacity & elongation and thickness decreased. 2. The fabric counts of PET increased due to shrinkage by alkaline-hydrolydzing. 3. As the amount of of the weight loss on PET fabrics increased. NUMERI, FUKURAMI, increaseed and KOSHI decreased and Total hand value(T.H.V) in all cases increaseed. When the weight Ioss is 30.9% T.H.V. is best. 4. Moisture regain of PET fabrics a little increased by alkaline-hydrolyzing treatment. As the weight loss increased, static voltage is decreased. 5. The last dye absorption is different according to the degree of the Affinity. In regard to the difference of dye color, the dyestuff of low molecular weight dyed for deep color.

  • Electrolyte loss is considered as one of the major obstacles limiting the life time of molten carbonate fuel cells (MCFCs). Unit cells with an effective area of 100 $cm^2$ were prepared and were operated to determine the optimum matrix thickness which contains the maximum amount of electrolyte without serious preformance loss caused by high resistance. Matrices with different thickness, 1.45, 1.8, and 2.3 mm, were used in unit cells and those cells were operared about 5000, 10000, and 4000 hrs. The unit cell used 1.8 mm thick matrix showed 0.85 V (at 150 mA/$cm^2$) as the intial performance and this cell voltage is not lower than the cell voltage obtained in the cell with 1 mm thick matrix. This cell was operated for 10000 hrs. The cell used 1.45 mm thick matrices showed 16.6 % in the electrolyte loss after 5000 hr operation. In the case of the cell with 2.3 mm thick matrix, the initial cell voltage was below 0.80 V (at 150 mA/$cm^2$). For thermal cycle test, the gas crossover amount of unit cell used 1.8 mm thick matrix was much less than that of the cell with 1.0 mm thick matrix.

  • The structures of inductive irises are used commonly in waveguide filter, especially at highter frequencyies, due to low loss and high temperature stability. However, the iris thickness can not be neglected, as it could be at the lower frequencies. Approximate models assuming zero thickness fail to predict the exact behavior of the filter. And current thickness correction is introduced which is valid in the case of thick irises only. Account of the effect of round is normally not taken. So the necessity of finding a relation for the two factors-iris thickness and round-arises in the design of waveguide filters. This paper describes a mutual relation that considers the combined effect of finite thickness and round from the start. In order to test the validity of the changed relation, weveral examples are given. And the measured response of each case is then compared with the predicted reponse. And it is shown that the radius is of perceptible influence on the transmission coefficient through a thick iris.

  • In this paper, we proposed a diffuion model of Ti diffused lithium niobate optical waveguide for fabricating waveguides with high refractive index and compared with conventional one. The achivement of low optical insertion loss between waveguide interface and single mode fibers was discussed as a function of Ti thickness for $\lambda$=1.55$\mu\textrm{m}$ The proposed diffusion method exhibited higher refractive index waveguide than conventional one for $\lambda$=0.6328$\mu\textrm{m}$ We have achieved the total fiber-waveguide-fiber insertion loss as low as 0.5dB/cm in z-cut and 1$\pm$0.5dB/cm in x-cut for both TM and TE mode of Mach-Zehnder interferometric waveguide in the range of Ti thickness 1000-1400$\AA$ for $\lambda$=1.55$\mu\textrm{m}$ From these results, this diffusion model for making a low loss waveguide can be used for low-power-modulators and switches.

  • Effects of chamfered perforated plate on pressure loss characteristics were studied with CFD analysis. Both inlet chamfer angle and outlet chamfer angle were considered. Perforated patterns were compared by pressure loss coefficient in certain porosity and Reynolds number. Reynolds number effects were studied for several chamfer angles and plate thickness. As the inlet chamfer angle was increased, the pressure loss coefficient was decreased until the certain angle and reversed to increase. In the outlet chamfered shape cases, the pressure loss coefficient was increased with chamfer angle. Effects of pattern shapes and Reynolds number on pressure loss characteristics were negligible with different chamfer angles and thickness studied in this paper.

Regional Differences in Onion Bulb Quality and Nutrient Content, and the Correlation Between Bulb Characteristics and Storage Loss

  • Many onion growers and researchers assert that differences in soil type, agricultural practices, weather, and duration of prolonged onion cultivation in a particular field could affect onion bulb quality. This study evaluates the bulb quality of onions grown in different regions and determines the correlations between bulb characteristics and postharvest loss during cold and ambient storage. Soil and onion bulbs were collected from fields in six onion growing regions in Korea, during the growing season of 2011-2012. The fresh weight, dry matter content, and carbon (C), sulfur and magnesium contents of the onion bulbs were significantly affected by the location in which they were grown. Bulbs grown in Muan had the greatest number of scales, thinnest scale thickness, and the highest total soluble solids (TSS) and total flavonoids (TF). Bulbs originating from Jecheon had the lowest pyruvic acid (PA), total phenolics and TF. Storage loss of bulbs from the different regions was similar in refrigerated storage, but differed in ambient temperature storage. Bulb fresh weight was positively correlated with scale thickness (r = 0.617) and cold storage loss (CSL; r = 0.398). Dry matter content was positively correlated with C (r = 0.958) and TF (r = 0.256) contents, while it was negatively correlated with CSL (r = -0.424). CSL was primarily affected by the fresh weight, as well as the dry matter, C, and PA contents of the bulbs, while ambient storage loss was primarily influenced by the amount of TSS.

  • Many studies for improving the railway vehicle's performance and comfort such as speed, weight and noise are currently in progress. Improving the structural characteristics of the vehicle for greater noise insulation is considered important for reducing disturbance due to noise, but measuring transmission loss entails large costs. This study explores an alternative method for estimating and measuring the railway vehicle's transmission loss that involves on applying the numerical analysis coupled with scaled reverberation chamber measurement. The transmission loss measurement using scaled reverberation chamber was performed after the compensation value was found through 1mm thickness(1t) specimen. For numerical analysis, a commercially available acoustics solver VA ONE was used. The proposed method is found to lead to transmission loss measurement comparable to the measurements based on large-scale reverberation chamber. Thus, it can be argued that a reliable method has been developed for measuring railway vehicle's transmission loss.

Comparison Study Between Coverage Choices for Radial Forearm Free Flap Donor Site (전완유리피판 공여부 재건에서 전층 피부이식술과 부분층 피부이식술의 비교)

  • Backgrounds: The purpose of this study was to compare full thickness skin graft with inguinal skin to split thickness skin graft for coverage of the radial forearm free flap donor site. Patients and Methods: 25 patients who was reconstructed with radial forearm free flap for head and neck cancer were reviewed retrospectively. Results: The graft loss rates of full thickness skin graft were less than split thickness skin graft or split thickness skin graft with dermal substitutes. The recovery times of donor site and skin graft donor site of full thickness skin graft were also shorter than split thickness skin graft or split thickness skin graft with dermal substitutes. Skin texture and aesthetic results of donor site were improved and complications as itching and pain sensation were decreased. Conclusion: Full thickness skin grafts with inguinal skin should be considered for patients requiring a radial forearm free flap.

Effects of Sheet Thickness on Electromagnetic Wave Absorption Characteristics in FeSiCr/Polymer Composite Sheets (FeSiCr/폴리머 복합 시트의 전자파 흡수 특성에 미치는 시트 두께의 영향)

  • This study examined the effects of sheet thickness on electromagnetic wave absorption characteristics and internal microstructure in 92.6%Fe-6.5%Si-0.9%Cr (wt%) alloy flakes/polymer composite sheets available for quasi-microwave band. The composite sheets with the thickness of 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5 mm were prepared by tape casting. A significant decrease in transmission parameter $S_{21}$ and a large increase in power loss were observed for the thick composite sheet in the frequency range of 1~5 GHz. However the permeability properties were not affected by thickness variation, while the imaginary part of complex permittivity increased with the increase of sheet thickness at 1~5 GHz. The enhanced electromagnetic wave absorption characteristics in the thicker composite sheets was attributed to the changed microstructure and the higher dielectric loss.
